The first floor rooms have an amazing access to this little courtyard in between nobody outside of the hotel can get into it. It's where the pool area is. We visited in time when the pool was not open, sitting around the little fire at night chatting about our day, letting the kids be able to run and play in the area where they're safe and we know they can't fall off the side of a mountain lol was worth it waiting gold everyone who worked here was amazing and helped us anytime we needed it. I asked for recommendations on places to go. Everybody's was a little bit different and that's why I ask, but they were all kind and nice to us so professional, clean helpful and knowledgeable about their area. Love being able to pick up the complementary trail snacks in the morning before heading out to explore this amazing city and the mountain above words every penny to get in any of the attractions you go to, and the people are amazing there as well we spent a week here so it just wasn't a day and gone. We were able to get a great view of the folks and their ability to go above and beyond the call to make sure we had what we needed and we're able to find places to go to enjoy with our grandsons while my husband worked during the day beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. These folks understand what hospitality means and how to make you feel right at home even when you're thousands of miles away! You are literally steps away from a shopping mall places to eat, and the view so beautiful with the mountains in the background! read more

Ample parking for us pulling jet skis. Good water pressure. Window actually opened for fresh air. Great central area in lobby for groups. Nan was attentive and kind, as well as polite. Loved toilet paper flower housekeeping left!! (Sorry no picture. Cons-No elevator?! Also sign on main hotel entry door said masks were required. Not true thankfully!Main hall carpet on second floor could use a refresh. First floor ice machine was broken. No breakfast. Shower could use update. We were not charged to park as many other reviews stated. We were given a tag to put in car on dash though. It says parking is $5/day. Maybe some confusion there. THIEVES!! I checked out and 3 hours later I called because I forgot my leather jacket and dress shoes in the room I was staying in and they said they couldn't find them. They said they would keep searching. I called the next day to speak with the housekeeping manager and she was busy. That she'll call me back. It's been two weeks and I've called 5x and nobody can help me. With that said they STOLE my clothing. Then when I checked in they they said my room was canceled and I said how. Then they said we'll get you in and provide a $50 credit to my account. It's been two weeks and I never got that credit. Then the ice machine wasn't working. Then I asked for extra towels and they gave me the towels that you throw on the floor after you get out of the shower. Then there was Chinese food all over the hallway for about 10 hours. The room was supposed to be a king Felix but it was super tiny . The walls are very thin . I woke up at 3am from the room to my left taking a shower... it sounded as though I was in the shower with them . Then dozed off and was awakened again this time at 4:30am from the room on my right taking a shower... also the room was very stuffy the air was very insufficient. And worst of all they have tiny pillows on the bead that if u stack ur head wants to roll off .... It wasn't a very comfortable sleeping situation. This was my first time staying at a Sonesta property and it was a very good experience despite not having a regular front desk staff or housekeeping staff, it was a good experience. There were professional staff members covering the front, so they were definitely knowledgeable about Sonesta and it's property and brand. They were a pleasure to deal with. The housekeeping was handled by an outside company, so the hotel and rooms were clean. A continental breakfast was offered that included cold cereals, fruit cups, danishes, coffee and teas. I sat outside by the fire pit, which wasn't on, but people were using the pool. It was breezy evening, so it was a relaxing evening. I definitely recommend this property. read more

There is a few things that bother me with the Sonesta Select Chattanooga. First and foremost, they do NOT follow the USA Service Dog Registration guidelines that Service Dogs will not have a fee added! They charge a ridiculous $75 per day fee, even when presented with our USA Service Dog Registration paperwork. They state their policy is that emotional support animals are not service dogs. Then they had the audacity to charge another Self Parking Fee in their open to the public lot of $5 per day. Then they do NOT offer a free breakfast, and do NOT even supply coffee for their guests! Finally, although the room seemed clean, the bathroom was tight, and even though we booked a Deluxe King Size bed room, the supplied pillows were not even child size. Very small and thus uncomfortable sleeping arrangement. Needles to say, we will not stay here again. Very dissapointed! read more

I booked this hotel for myself for a week while in town on business. I chose it because of the proximity to shops and restaurants and the interstate. I should have chosen another place. First, the breakfast available is just some fruit and maybe yogurt unless you want to pay for hot items. Second, the pool was green and closed for upkeep the entire time I was here. Third, there was loud construction and cleaning happening outside my windows every single day. None of these situations were disclosed to me when I booked or when I checked in. The room itself is serviceable and mostly clean minus a few bugs, and I didn't feel unsafe. However, I am very disappointed in my experience and would never stay here again. Recommend only if you need someplace cheap to sleep and don't care about much else. Don't expect housekeeping either. You have to give them 24 hours notice, if they show up at all. Also, know there is no elevator if you get a second floor room and have heavy luggage. read more

This was recommended by a co worker and friend. We stayed here to attend a wedding. Tom was very helpful and got me settled in when i had to do an early checkin. The desk staff are very courteous and accommodating. We never had any problem with our stay. It's so close to the airport. It's also close to many shopping and dining establishments. For the rate, it's a fine deal. We got a room with a queen bed which was very comfortable. But there were some things that were off.. there was no soap bar in the soap box by the sink and when I tried calling the housekeeping line twice there was no answer. Apparently they hire out the housekeeping, which is fine, but I wish the clerk had mentioned that so I would know where to call. My biggest issue is that the shower water never got hot. And the in room coffee maker had a couple coffee packets with it but no creamers or sugars. Overall this hotel will get the job done but it wasn't a super pleasant experience, and I'm a bit disappointed because I usually like staying in hotels that go for this rate. read more

What a great hotel! The only reason they're missing a star is because there isn't an elevator. After a really long drive, I truly didn't want to have to carry my bag up the stairs. We ended here because our AirBnb flooded from the massive remainder of Zeta passing through. We needed a room that would fit three adults- and my husband underestimated the room size. This was a king bed room with a pull out sofa. Previous rooms set up like this usually had a separation between where the bed is and the sofa- not this room. The sofa bed opened up and literally bumped against the bed. Now- that is tight and inconvenient, but it was the other things that made this stay less than great. Robert looked for an outlet near the sofa bed and discovered a happy meal box that still had goodness knows how old food remnants. Mega gross. The bathroom tub was dingy in the bottom- and felt like it had an anti-slip at one point, but had been worn off over time. It left a gritty feel beneath your feet and again- looked dirty. Too many of the local hotels were sold out- we didn't have many choices. We ended up getting an additional room for my son on the second night because it was simply too tight quartered- it was the hotels last available room. Expensive for what it was and dirty. read more

I enjoyed my stay at the Courtyard Chattanooga. My dad and I came into town for his birthday. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They were available to assist and gave great recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. The property is well-maintained with modern decor. There is no elevator in this hotel, so keep this in mind if you have heavy luggage and you get a room on the 2nd floor. The staff is available to assist you with luggage if you need help. There is ample free parking. The hotel is in walking distance of tons of restaurants and shopping. read more

Not all Courtyard Marriotts are created equal but this spot is one of the best. Attentive staff, clean and spacious rooms, and the most comfortable beds all make for a 5-star experience. A few decent restaurants within walking distance (Acropolis and El Meno are where we ate and both were delicious) plus all the necessities to heat up leftovers are in your room - sweet! The food at the bistro looked really good although we didn't have a chance for a meal there. Will be back next year! read more

Enjoyed our stay here immensely! Very friendly staff, everyone was willing to help if needed. The king guest room was tidy and clean, and the bed was super comfortable provided with 4 super soft pillows. The only downside is this hotel does not have any elevators because it's only 2 floors but the stair cases are not horrible. Was this place a decent place to stay? Yes Given the option, would I return? Not really There's nothing exceptional about the room. There's also nothing really awful about the room. It's the same bland style of room you see in every hotel that strives for mediocrity. No flat panel tv to make you feel like you're in the modern era, No refrigerator to keep your drinks cool, No WiFi so you can surf the internet from bed..... I've stayed in crummier places than this, including some real dumps.....and the surrounding area is certainly filled with enough to keep you occupied so that you don't have to spend much time in the hotel if you don't feel like it..........However, without anything special at all, I just can't bring myself to give this place 4 stars. It's a solid 3. Tolerable, but you can do better. read more

The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in the adjoining rooms, hallway, and outside. Amazing customer service at the counter and from management. They went above and beyond. I commented my room was hot to myself when I walked in. A housekeeper overheard and told the manager. I got a call asking what they could do to make it right. I was given a couple of pantry items and 2000 Marriott points. That was amazing and totally unexpected. The best part was that it was unsolicited great service. The location is right by a decent mall for Chattanooga. You can walk to Red Lobster, J Alexanders, or Starbucks easily. There is lots of shopping and a$3.50 movie theater down the street. The room itself is a standard Courtyard room. The curtain colors keep it brighter than most. I like the different shower curtain. The tub and bathroom were actually updated and the room is comfortable with plenty of outlets. I would have liked to had a luggage rack.The hot tub was filled with concrete. The TV location in the gym is terrible. I just left and ran a lap around the outside of the mall. The TV is a flat screen; that other review is five years old. Lobby is the updated bistro set up. The first place after accumulating 400k Marriott points that made me feel like a Platinum member. read more

After fleeing an Alabama full of tornado warnings and coming to a stop in a cold, wet blustery Chattanooga on Christmas Day, my girlfriend and I were in dire need of a wind down and decompression. For that, this Courtyard Marriott was a decent lil' port from (multiple) storms. The front desk staff was friendly and engaging despite it being That Holiday That No One Wishes To Work.The fellow working that night even knew a restaurant that was open that night! From the modern lobby to the hallways to the room, everything was extremely clean and inviting. The room's furniture and mattress were comfortable and that can't always be said for hotels in this price range. The lobby was well-stocked with prepackaged foods for noshing, and had complimentary PC terminals that, while content-controlled, still were useful. The mini bath samples were actually pretty high quality (Paul Mitchell) and a nice surprise. The only small downside was that both the room and lobby lacked a phonebook. I love my tech, but a simple phonebook provides a handy non-linear search for what a city might avail you. An ever-ubiquitous Gideon Bible, sure. Phonebook? Nah. While a Courtyard will never be a luxury joint, this one was a balm for weary wanderers. That definitely says "We'll be back.' read more

This is an excellent place to stay! Right now they are u see renovation! They were very clear about their renovation on the phone and when I checked in. I can already tell you that the newly renovated rooms are adorable and comfortable. The service I received at check in was impeccable! The man who checked me in was accommodating and hospitable! Because yeh elevators are being renovated he carried my stuff up to my room and refused to take a rip for it! The place is clean despite the obvious renovations which will be complete by January 2019! I had the pleasure to stay in a newly renovated 1 bed room suit! The beds are super comfy! The room was super clean! I love that you have your own shampoo conditioner and body wash dispensers in the shower! Makes for easier travel!! You are 10 minutes from Chattanooga airport! The front desk girl was so super nice when I checked and even offered us a different option. They have a Starbucks inside! Everything smelled clean and was superduper nice. We booked our room on Priceline.com and even get free breakfast! I have a family of five... We took a king size bed room with a pullout bed and it was plenty. Like other reviewer said... There is no elevator here. But of course we are staying only one night so that's no big deal! The girl at the front desk did offer us help!!!!! My wife and I stayed here for an anniversary trip/babymoon at the end of 2016. We loved everything about this hotel. Our original room was near the stairs and an exit door, which meant we didn't get a lot of sleep our first night. I requested a room change the next morning, and was in a different room within twenty minutes. I was so impressed with their promptness. The staff was incredibly courteous and professional. The hotel is in a great location, close to the interstate and Hamilton Place Mall. There is no continental breakfast, but there are mini-fridges and microwaves in the room if you want to bring small amounts of food. Would highly recommend this place to anyone! read more

Stayed here on our way North. The front desk staff was friendly upon check in and check out. The room has a refrigerator, but we needed ice blocks frozen to keep medicine cold during travel. They were more than happy to freeze it and retrieve in the morning. We found the room clean and quiet. It was on the first floor near the back exit. There was a high school band that was there during our night, but they were either really quiet or on the other side of the building. Overall, it was a nice place to stay, but we were only there less than 12 hours. read more

We booked here because of the location. Close to downtown Chattanooga and shopping and restaurants. Others complained about outdated/ worn furniture, we did not seem to experience that. The room was furnished well and had a pull out sofa (good thing since our son decided to join us at the last minute). But the pull out was terrible, much like sleeping on springs with cardboard over them. But since he originally wasn't supposed to join us, I can't really complain about the pull out. Here's the thing: I probably would've given this hotel 1 star. Why? We were in an end room by the back entrance- and that door slammed ALL. Night. Long. SLAMMED. HOWEVER. The manager took care of us and I don't feel so ripped off now. I've always had great experiences at Marriott, and this one did not disappoint. The staff was very helpful from giving us bedding for the sofa as well as a bottle of water to take medication. Not having free breakfast really was not an issue as some have mentioned- for us that doesn't make or break our stay. This is an older hotel, as others have said there is no elevator. It is close to a lot of restaurants, Wal-Mart, and the mall. You won't be in need of food or clothes. I'm staying here for work for two weeks. I have found that the cleaning staff does not like to give me new glasses. I drank milk out of one and clearly left it out for it to be changed. Not 1, not 2, but 3 days went by and I was not given a new one. I finally had to call and ask for one. The other day I put my cup in the sink. Obviously the sink didn't get cleaned because my cup was still I there. I know my sheets aren't changed because my hair from my head is still on the bed. I don't need my sheets changed daily, but I'm here for two weeks. Clean them at least once this week. The gym is small. I like to workout. It has 2 treadmills, one elliptical and one stationary bike. There are some freeweights, but the room is so squishy you have to pick up the weights and walk around some machines to get to a free spot. There's a photo of what looks like an indoor whirlpool. It does not exist. I wish the cleaning crew was a little bit more clean. Thankfully I'm not a messy person, but still I'd like some nice clean cups. They do not give you lotion. I forgot mine and thought I'd use the hotels. I had to go downstairs and ask for it. I guess that's fine, but normally most hotels give you the little bottle of shampoo and conditioner, and lotion. It's quite dry out here in TN, people need it. read more

Although it is right beside j Alexander's which I will be having for dinner BUT hey don't have an elevator which I thought is very odd seeing how it's 2019 but it is only a 2 story hotel. Top notch. The staff makes this place although the hotel is clean and modern. The bistro serve amazing breakfast. If you are a hungry monster try the morning scramble - a health nut try the early riser - a kid at heart try the French toast. The pool is clean and the courtyard inviting. The staff though is a red carpet rolling out bunch of great folks. Stay here and enjoy all that Chattanooga has to offer all within a 15 minute drive. Where do I start? I had to stay here because I missed my flight. I stayed in the area before so I wanted to make sure I was in a good area. Anywho I checked in property doesn't have elevator so I had to carry my suitcase up stairs. I checked into my room. Room had a bad smell. Not sure what but I used my can of spray to get the smell out. The restroom shower was the most disgusting thing. It was dirty with other people hair. I travel so much I bring my own cleaning supplies. The toilet had someone else junk. I only needed a few hours of sleep. The property was full so moving wasn't a choice. Smh. At checkout I told the clerk and she said I'm sorry. I will pass it along. Very bad customer service. I paid money to stay and I had to clean and spray my room. And all I get it is. I'm sorry? No follow up to say someone will call you or be in touch. Or "What can we do to make it right?" My follow up would have been the Head housekeepers, or inspector need to check all rooms thoroughly before renting them. A lady the night I checked in complained about her room being dirty and they gave her a glass of wine until housekeepers could clean it. Smh.
