We had to book this room at the last minute due to another issue with a different hotel (not Hilton), and I'm so glad we ended up here! The staff was very accommodating and had a room available for us the very next day. We were also able to check in early, which we truly appreciated because our son and his friend wanted to swim after they weren't able to enjoy the pool at the other hotel. When we walked into the Hilton, it immediately felt like we were stepping into a real hotel experience--and it even smelled like one! The lobby was clean, beautifully decorated, and welcoming. Once we entered our room, we were even more excited. The room was clean, and the fresh smell of the sheets immediately gave us confidence that the room had been well taken care of. As I normally do, I inspected the room, and I was pleased to see that the sheets were clean, and the floors and tables were also spotless. The only issue I noticed was the shower floor, which appeared to have some staining that I believe may have been caused by cleaning chemicals. Other than that, the room was great. During our stay, we enjoyed the warm chocolate chip cookies, which were a nice touch! I also loved the customer service at the bar. The bartender was so nice and made me two really good mocktails. I also had breakfast at The Grove one morning, and the grits were cooked to perfection! The front desk staff was outstanding. Everyone we encountered was so nice, respectful, friendly, and genuinely willing to help. Overall, we had a great experience and truly appreciated the hospitality, especially since we had to find a hotel unexpectedly. On our road trip, we stayed here for the cheap price and overnight requirement. It sufficed for the price - Pros - a bed and a bath. Cons - table light was not working. Bed was confortable enough. No breakfast unless paid more. The shampoo was not filled. Coffee maker was not working. And no microwave even though space was there. The HVAC was weird. Did not cool the room adequately suggesting poor circulation. There are many others close by. Will check those for next time. read more

The hotel was very easy to find. The lady at check in was very nice. We were able to pick our room in the Hilton App prior to check in. However, I still had to show ID when I arrived to get the digital key to the room. Parking is $25 on site, with in and out privileges and accessible by room key. Plenty of parking. The hotel is growing through renovations but it was not intrusive to the guest. The construction noise only lasted till about 6PM. Although the room was outdated, it was very lean and had no odor. No musty scents and water pressure was good. Bed was comfortable, it was not fancy but it is a nice clean hotel. read more

First of all, I really wanted to leave after my stay and be able to give DoubleTree in Chattanooga a 4 to 5 star rating, that unfortunately cannot happen. I reserved a room for my wife and my 30th anniversary. I chose a King suite with whirlpool tub. Figured we could chill and relax and soak our older bones in a nice tub with jets. We would also have a couple days to chill comfortably in a place that has a sitting area with comfortable seating. Maybe take advantage of some room service, just unwind and enjoy. I chose a Hilton property for a reason. Then check in happened. I was waiting for my digital key to load on their Hilton Honors app, but 10 minutes after 4pm it hadn't loaded. I went to the front desk to check in then. And that is when it all began. There were no suites available, even though I had reserved the suite, so they would do me a favor and downgrade my reservation. DOWNGRADE. They first gentleman was also going to do me a favor and not charge me the suite rate. Yes, you read that right. He wasn't going to charge me for the suite rate after they downgraded me. Thank you so much for that. Then the manager come to the desk. He was generous enough to comp both nights, parking and breakfast. So my stay was free. This tells me that the excuse of a 5th floor water leak that wrecked floors all the way to the 12th floor was probably not the most honest of excuses. And considering that my room was directly across from the suite I had reserved, didn't make the excuse sound much better. Ok, they tried to make their error right. I do appreciate that, but with the room I got, became very little consolation. Check into the room. The AC is set for 74 and you are suppose to be able to adjust the temp. If you lowered the temp, a couple minutes later it resets to 74. Then instead of the view of the city I had selected, we got a view of the main road leading into Chattanooga, not even worth opening the shades for. The wifi was very spotty, but I was finally able to make that work. So we decided to move on to room service. No menu, no cards in the room to assist. Nothing. So I called the front desk and inquired about room service and maybe a menu. I don't know that they have room service here, I didn't really get an answer other than some properties have them others don't but they would provide me a menu. The menu they finally provided was their alcohol list. No food, just a list of cocktails, beers, wine and bourbon. So Door Dash it had to be. They did give us a room with a small tub. Nothing an adult could sit and relax in and ease the muscles. Just a small tub. I wouldn't step in that thing. There was blood or rust or something right near the drain, rather disgusting looking. I wasn't touching it. This place in no better than a motel in the shady part of Chattanooga. But the difference is, when I reserved a motel with a hot tub, I got a motel room with a hot tub. So actually a motel stay was better than a Hilton stay. Go figure. So about 10pm the first night, we decided the stay was long enough. We hadn't even really unpacked, just a few small items. Everything went back into the suitcase and we proceeded to check out. This wasn't written directly after we left. I actually went home, got a nights rest, thought about it, and decided I really need to post. All in all, I give this place a 1 only because I can't go lower. read more

Stayed during the week for a work trip and it was ok. For some reason I got upgraded to the one of the big suites on the top floor and that was nice. The view was spectacular. The room however was a bit run down. The furniture, carpet, paint, and wallpaper need a refreshing. The staff was fantastic and friendly. I did receive a food credit with the room that I used for breakfast. Don't go with the buffet as it's not worth it (not may options and not well made) and the cost exceeds the credit. $hithole. Only hotel I've ever stayed in where the corner rooms are smaller than the rest. Tiny bathrooms, peeling wallpaper, hot and humid hallways. We arrived and I unloaded our things into the fridge, which was flopping around in its cabinet because the floor in the cabinet isn't deep enough to accommodate the mini fridge, so the a$$ end hangs of the back of the floor, tilted backwards. Nice. The bathrooms were updated in the last decade, but they left the 90s tile: mold, mildew, growth and all. It's sort of a tea colored wall tile with $hit brown floor tile. Look, it's one of the cheapest hotels in the area. The pool is really nice, as is the lobby. Beyond that, you get what you pay for. Which is a hodgepodge of timely and untimely updates. read more

We were here over the Christmas weekend. Three entire staff was outstanding. Very courteous. Pleasent, and cheerful. The front desk folks were very nice every day. The restaurant staff was very helpful, friendly, and nice. The cleaning, room service folks were totally helpful. The breakfast was always good. We had a nice room on the 12 floor and it was pretty quiet. The bed was comfy. The towels were nice and thick. The shower was amazing. A shower with a Speakman showerhead always has a lot of power. The suite was nice. Some hotels don't have Microwave or a fridge in the room any longer. This one does. Finally, the room has 2TVs. In all, this hotel was in a great location and the rooms were nice. We checked into the hotel last night for the TSSAA football championship game. We arrived at 9:00pm and went to our room. I was exhausted and immediately went to sleep. Today we are waiting for players to come out and a mom tells me that she checked out of Doubletree after being given two different rooms and both having bedbugs. She walked downstairs to front desk and the guy working told her he didn't need to hear anything else or see pictures of them but he believed her and would move her to another hotel. So he wasn't surprised? Okay. He refunded her money and parking. In telling me this, she mentions she was on 7th floor. We were on 7th Floor. She said she was in Room 720. That was our room. So after she checked out at 4:30 pm and said no thank you, they apparently cleaned our room and gave it to us. Are you joking? They said it wasn't bedbugs but larvae. Gross. I immediately called the front desk and spoke to Gunner who assured me the room was clean and they weren't any bedbugs. I don't believe you. He said Ecolab came and cleaned the room and inspected it and assured me that was all I needed to know. His word was as good as golden. I asked to see a copy of the report where Ecolab cleared the room of bedbugs and he couldn't show me that. He said it was confidential. I spent the afternoon on the phone with the Doubletree and they never even offered me one Hilton point or cookie as a compensation. I would not stay here. read more

This place is within walking distance of the river, Aquarium, and many restaurants. We stayed here to catch a comedy show just up the road. The place was booked up. Amenities are nice. Bed was very comfy. Lobby is very welcoming. There are some areas up on 2nd floor near the bar or by the pool to get away from the small space of the room. Be prepared to pay for parking and any food or drink aside from the coffee/tea in your room. Room was spotless and furniture was all in good condition. We would definitely stay here again. read more

Unfortunately my experience was far below the standard I've come to expect from this brand. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this location was not up to the usual Double Tree quality. For starters, one of the signature features of Double Tree hotels is the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the famous chocolate chip cookies upon check in. However, neither of these were present. There was no greeting from the staff, not being offered a cookie seems small but is a very important part of the Double Tree experience that was completely overlooked. The lack of hospitality continued throughout our stay. The staff at the hotel didn't seem particularly friendly or helpful. We ate at the Grove, the on-site restaurant, on our first night, and it was an overall disappointing experience. The staff (Kelly in particular) was rude in a passive aggressive manner, which made the meal feel uncomfortable, and the food was simply awful. The quality of both the service and the meal did not meet the expectations I have for a Hilton Property. There was one shining exception to the poor service, though--a gentleman working at the bar who was Fantastic. He was friendly, high energy, and professional. If I had gotten his name, I'd be sure to give him a more specific shout out because he was the ONE bright spot during our stay. Unfortunately, things didn't improve in the room. The TV in our room was broken, so I called the front desk to report it. I was told that an engineer would be sent up to fix it, but despite my follow up, the engineer never showed up during our stay. That was very frustrating and on top of that, the room itself was unusually small for a Double Tree which made the experience overall, feel cramped and uncomfortable within the room. Between the lack of signature welcoming experience, the poor service at the restaurant, the broken TV, and the small room size, this was not the stay I expected. I've had MUCH better experiences at other Double Tree locations, and we won't be returning to this one in Chattanooga, TN. I cannot recommend this hotel based on my stay. Also, be prepared to pay $25 per night for on-site parking. If you're looking for a truly welcoming and comfortable experience, I'd suggest considering other options in the area. read more

We're currently here, checked in on the property. Our room is filthy: hand prints on the dresser/tv stand, hand prints on the wardrobe/closet, hair on the side of the shower (gross) and it smells old. We are planning on checking out tomorrow instead of the original plan of staying till Tuesday. My husband said I should ask for housekeeping to clean the room tomorrow, but we barely checked in this morning and this room should have been cleaned really well before letting another guest stay. For being the second best hotel in downtown Chattanooga, this place sure is a dump. read more

This hotel was a very nice stay. Close to a lot of restaurants and attractions. Was able to walk to the Aquarium, the harbor, and several restaurants. We are in town for my niece's volleyball competition and hotel is just up the road from convention center. The hotel is centrally located and typical for a Hilton. So why my low review: 1. You have to opt in for house keeping - which we did but still returned to a room that had not been cleaned. Seriously, hotels need to go back to preCOVID and provide house keeping! Or at least honor it if requested. 2. The first night I could barely sleep because my hair was itching like crazy. The second night, my mom laid her head on my hotel pillow and immediately her hair started itching. Ummm... not sure the issue with the pillow but I stopped using it and immediately washed my hair. (Culturally I don't typically need to wash it daily but they need to sanitize their pillows between guests. I will start carrying my own pillow in the future!) 3. They have a private lot and charge $18/day for parking but don't offer valet services at least during our stay.) 4. We are in a handicap accessible room with tub - rm. 408,I think it's just hearing accessible really). The front desk was able to provide a seat for the tub so my mom could shower with ease. Which was helpful. So the issue... our hand held shower head shot water from the top onto the ceiling, which then dripped out onto the toilet and kept the floor soaked. read more

We visited this hotel during memorial weekend and was very happy with our stay. When we checked in they handed us fresh oozing hot chocolate cookies. The front desk was very sweet and welcoming. The Uber eats ppl were able to also deliver our food to the front and they called to notify us. There was also a a little Starbucks store to buy snacks and drinks. Our hotel room was very clean and spacious. We were able to swim and use the fitness center. It wasn't too crowded and there were clean towels around. The only thing I didn't like was the parking situation was a tad bit confusing. I think there wasn't enough parking at one point so we parked where the little security poles were and didn't know and was charged. It wasn't even covered it was just a kind of gated area right behind the free parking spots. read more

Power Saving Rooms, this brand is near closer and saves money by timing the tv power and A/c unit, which means it takes 15/20 mins for the TVs to reset and start back functioning and the room temperature is always up and down, this is rough with young children, please save your money and stay somewhere else, along with the $20 per person breakfast that's the same as a free Motel 6 meal. This is a mixed review. The hotel itself is fabulous and the bar staff and hotel staff on grounds are great. The staff behind the counter at front desk and management are another story. Checked in and told the front desk staff I needed to give a personal credit card for expenses. They declined to use it after I told them charges had to go on it and not my corp card. Needless to say three months later Im still fighting with the hotel and corporate to fix it. They charged the hotel stay to MY personal card and ignored the corp card. Took two mos to get that money back. Still arguing over other charges. Hotel is passing it off to corporate and corporate is passing it back to hotel. They have the worst front desk staff except for one female. Forget being recognized for your club status with Hilton as well!!! read more

They checked me out of my room without asking after promising the night before that I had a room reserved all week. Then they raised the room rate and were rude and arrogant when I asked them to explain the up charge. I tried eating several meals and the service was worse than terrible. She had the nerve to ask for a review so she could get a raise. I was served dinner, never offered a refill, glass of water, silverware, or even if the meal was acceptable. Then I received a snarky remark after waiting 12 minutes for the bill. They were consistently impolite and unprofessional. Management should clean house. read more

My Hotel visit with Doubletree at Chattanooga Downtown was horrible. My complains- Birthday room not decorated after I was promised on several occasions that it would be. I called before check-in and was also promised but when I arrived the front desk clerk who I spoke with earlier that day told me the room was ready and it would take an hour or two to decorate. Care line button on phone didn't work-no, tv wasn't working, AC wasn't working and I had to change my room, receptionist, were not friendly at all. No greeting when leaving or coming in the hotel. Not the standards of Hilton. I love Chattanooga but I will never stay at this hotel again. read more
