I am not one for bad ratings but my husband and I were looking forward to trying Sonic for the first time. First let me start off by saying the service was fast which is always a plus. The food was HORRIBLE. I ordered a #6 Chili Cheese Coney & it came with minimal chili ,the cheese was stuck on the plastic sleeve it comes in & the hot dog itself was cold. I also ordered a #4 which is a bacon cheese burger w/ bacon and ketchup ONLY and I received it w/ FULL condiments and it too was room temperature. I even ordered a #1 ketchup ONLY & I received it w/ FULL condiments. My orange Fanta tasted fully like water ,they did get the lemonades correct (delicious),the tater tots were very soggy but edible at best. I was introduced to Sonic when I was an undergrad 10 years ago in the not so great state of Arkansas. It was a really popular chain with very basic, almost subpar food and awesome shakes and icee style drinks. Over the past few years I have seen Sonic commercials as there weren't any Sonic locations nearby. Well that has changed over the past 1+ years and this one is close to mom. I have not eaten @ Sonic since I graduated college in almost 10 years ago, but we drove past the other day and I had to make a stop. They still have the drive in booths an d the girls still cannot hear through the intercom...LOL. Everyone else in the car got food except me, so I cannot speak on the food, but I did get my old favorite: The Cherry Limeade and that is still really good. Service was terrible. Usually I dont EVER write reviews because I worked in food service. I went through the drive thru and had two separate orders and they managed to mess up both. They were trying to give me someone elses order TWICE! I explained that my order was wrong. Honestly i wouldnt have minded if they refunded my order and had some sympathy. But they didnt even try. THEN they had the nerve to try not to give me my receipts. The carhops were Muhammad and Majid at the Crownpoint. Why does it take three people to give me a receipt and the correct order? To be honest the food is just ok here. The burgers, chicken, and fries are nothing to write home. But oh my god, the slushes here - literally heaven on earth. Usually there's no Sonic near me so when I see one I always go exclusively for the slushes. I always order a 44 ounce real fruit strawberry slush and am never disappointed. Sometimes I get two so I can store one in the fridge for later (hehe). If you go between 2-5PM, slushes are half price! The staff here is really good, too. I cannot believe the Rudeness, The ignorance and the unprofessionalism of the MANAGER DESTINY at this location!!!! I had no issues with the drive thru staff BUT the manager whom you would expect to be COURTEOUS/APOLOGETIC AND EMPATHETIC WAS SOOOOO UNWORTHY OF BEING A MANAGER. After waiting some time in the drive thru I received my food and when I drove off and opened it up the meat on my burger was over cooked and dry and the cheese and bun was cool to the touch. This is by far the worst Sonic I have been to in my life, and I doubt I will ever be a customer to this chain again. I manage a customer service business myself, and if ANY of my employees acted as these employees & manager did to one of my paying customers, I would make certain that customer knew the next visit is absolutely on us! So, I ordered online on the Sonic website. I paid for my order on the Sonic website. The website states for me to go to the location hit the red button and say I ordered online and my name. The site says my order will take 5-7min. I walk across the street to the Sonic location (3min). I hit the button on the ordering system, and someone said, "Welcome to Sonic". I said: "I'm here to pick up my online order, my name is Khalid" and then complete silence. The running orders out to cars, goes to one car with an order, then another car to get money for an order then goes back inside. He comes back outside to make another delivery and speak to the car he took the money from then back inside. He then came back outside to give the car he took the money from's food, that's when I stopped him and asked: "how long will the online order take?". He said: "I don't know let me check". At this point I had been outside for 15minutes. A couple walked up and asked how the ordering system works to which I helped them, and they decided to just finish their order online. He comes back outside drops off another order then goes back in (not a word). He comes back outside to get money for an order goes back in (not a word). He comes back out and I am like: "Hey... any updates?" he looks and says "nope", goes back in. At this point I am wearing the frustration on my face as this is over 20 min of waiting with no clear answers. When he comes back out, I say: "Sir... what is the use of ordering online if I have to wait for this long" he said: "You ordered on the app?" I said: "No... online" he said: "Did you check in?" I said: "I don't know what that is", he said: "You gotta check in on the place you ordered your food". I said calmly: "So you are telling me I need to go back across the street to my work computer and check in and come back over here to get my food and I am right here?". He said: "If that's where you ordered from" with no emotion or empathy or compassion whatsoever. I walked back across the street to find the order and there is no place to do this "check-in". I found the number to Sonic and called immediately. The 1st time I called the phone rang someone picked up and hung up on me. The 2nd time I called a woman picked up and I asked to speak to the manager. I told her about my experience, and she said: "Yeah, we have your order right here", and proceeded to run down the list of things I ordered. I said, "well I am sure its ice cold by now" (this is 28min after ordering at this point), she said: "no, its sitting here under the heat lamps". I could only breathe heavy because my hunger and frustration were at an all-time high, she recognized my frustration and said: "Well if you want a refund, you can hit the button and it will take you to this site where you can tell them etc.". I said: "No, I just see the customer experience means nothing to you all, I will follow up with the manager I know in person next time she comes across the street to my business". I walk back across the street (32min after ordering at this point), hit the red button and when prompted said: "I am here to pick up the online order I just called about". I was asked my name, I stated my name, and was told: "It will be right out". I waited another 6 minutes. The guy who was ignoring me and told me to go back across the street comes out smiling. He hands me my food and sarcastically says: "You have a nice day". I get back to my desk and (wait for it)... my food was cold! DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!! It's Sonic better than to drive up and get an order of crispy hot tots, and a strawberry lime aide., it's so good! I like their desserts the bet shakes and beverages. I think their burgers are just okay, nothing to write home about. Customer service is fine nothing to brag about and nothing to complain about. They almost always are on roller skates which is cool! Only a few months old and business here seems successful. On the other hand, next time I'd rather skip it. It was my first time here and right away I wasn't feeling it the menu is a little confusing, because it's all jammed on one board then you have to order your food via a speaker. That being said, you can't really hear the employee taking your order and I'm sure the employee can't really hear you. I became frustrated when my boi and my cousin pressured me to order fast, later I noticed other customers became frustrated with the menu, as well. Even though I'm used to eating in the car (sometimes eating while driving) I find drive-ins very uncomfortable. This place is all about Drive-in or Drive-thru (of course!) with a few tables and benches (useful if summer was still around) the food is good, but seriously nothing out of the ordinary. First Tim here. I ordered the chili cheese dog with homemade onion rings. I did not enjoy the chili cheese dog at all. It was way too salty; I couldn't finish eating it. Stopped in today for half price cheeseburgers. They were much bigger than I expected from a fast food chain. They didn't really taste like much of anything, but again it's fast food so I'm not looking for anything amazing. I highly doubt I'd pay the full price for them though (around $4 for a cheeseburger). Fries were average, chocolate shake was a chocolate shake. The onion rings were surprisingly delicious, light and crispy. And of course the cherry limeade is always a treat, made even better by the real lime wedges and cherries in the cup. Overall not bad for fast food. I went here yesterday when they had half price cheeseburgers for Groundhog Day. I got a cheeseburger for $2.10. It didn't taste like anything special to me. It was just okay, not very flavorful at all. Almost reminded me of a Burger King burger. I definitely wouldn't pay $4.00 or more for it at its regular price. Almost wasn't even worth the $2.10........ I also got a medium order of chili cheese tater tots for $3.19. They were pretty disappointing. There were less than 15 tator tots in the order and they needed way more chili and cheese, I expected more for the price. The chili seemed to have a good flavor, from what little of it was present on my tater tots. The tots were also piping hot when I got them, which is always good. I also got a corn dog which was actually delicious. It was better than any other fast food or frozen grocery store corn dog I've ever had. The outer coating is really good. I think the corn dog was $1.50. The blue raspberry slush with nerds candy was good too. As for the service, it was fine. Nothing stood out as being overly good or bad. I do feel like I was waiting for a pretty long time in the drive thru for my order. Overall, I would probably go back here for just a couple things on the menu. Definitely not interested in the burgers. If they increased the amount of tator tots and put more chili and cheese on them, they would be worth ordering.
