Liquor store in the front, and plenty of seating with two bars as you walk in. They had lots of draft beer and cocktail options available. There were also board and card games to play while there. Bartenders were friendly and quick to take orders and make drinks.

Oh how I love Chicago... I live there for seven years and I would still be living there if it wasn't so cold. The thing about Chicago is that there's so much amazing food on every corner everywhere from the deep dish pizza, to the hotdogs, to the Italian beef, to the burgers. To me, Chicago is the perfect mix of New York and Los Angeles... Chicago's got all these little hidden spots that if you don't know, you don't know. So Maria's is one of those spots. Like from the outside you can't even really tell what's going on. You walk in you're like wow what's going on in here got myself a burger. Double patty burger called the Michael Dublé! I mean, I can't even begin to tell you like my mouth was just so thankful for the party that was happening. Inside of it was like crispy mac & cheese with this great sauce and this perfectly grilled burger and grilled buns and it was just an excitement of flavors. I can't even describe it any other way. I hope that makes sense. Maria is just a must have must have. We were waiting for burgers to get cooked and stepped to the bar and had a beer and a sake shot and then grabbed our burger and walked back home. It was an experience outdoor furniture, hanging swings and eating out this artwork that was amazing all over the place. I know this seems kind of disjointed and all over the place. That's kind of how you feel when you go into Maria's. There's so much going on and it's like so exciting because you can't tell that by looking at the outside, you gotta come in and be wowed!

Bar. Package liquors. Polish Korean fusion (Kimskis attached). This place is the model of what our first Mars colony should aspire to. Great service, amazing beer selection and lots of space...especially when the patio is open.

Maria's is a hidden gem. The front looks like your average local liquor store, but once you enter the backroom, it's a completely different world filled with good vibes and great drinks. Featuring a constantly rotating array of drinks, each experience at Maria's will guarantee to be different. This time, I got their Yuzu seltzer. It was so refreshing and bursting with delicious, citrusy yuzu flavor. If you're in the area, stop in for a drink, you'll thank me later.

Maria's Packaged Goods and Community Bar is truly a staple of the Bridgeport community. So many friends have recommended it to me and I'm so glad they did! I came here twice so far: once to grab drinks and catch up with a friend, and once for dinner and drinks before a White Sox game. It has a very casual environment and both indoor and outdoor patio seating. This space is HUGE. There's so many different rooms/areas inside the building with different vibes and decor. There are two back patios to sit and hang out in too. In front, there is a small counter service restaurant attached, called Kimski, which has some delicious Korean Polish offerings that you can order that pairs well with your drinks. I recommend ordering first and they'll give you a buzzer, and then finding a seat in the large outdoor patio. We got Maria's Standard, which is a Polish sausage with sauerkraut on a perfectly fluffy and toasted brioche bun, served with crinkle cut fries. It is perfection! Amazing with a pint of beer from Maria's. We ordered this in the spirit of going to the White Sox game later that evening and it sure beats getting an overpriced Chicago dog at the field. Maria's has a ton of beers on tap and a lot of them are Marz brews. Fun fact: Maria's and Marz Brewing are owned by the same family! It seems that Marz is named after the family name, Marzewski. Their beers are fun and unique, and they really are great at creating delicious beers, food, and a fun and relaxed environment. What a great place. Can't wait to come back again soon!

Our plan was to go next door but they were closed for a private event! Boy am I glad they were. This place was great! Seating/food & drinks are a bit confusing at first but you "get it" fast! To get seated you have to go to the patio, to order food you have to go inside to the front and to order drinks you use your phone and them pick up at the counter. I wish there was a way to keep a tab open for drinks. I was kind of worried my bank was going to wave my account for having 3 different charges at the same place in less than an hour. My girlfriend and I both got the wangs. They were amazing!! The perfect amount of sweet, savory and a bit spicy! The rice was a great addition! As far as drinks go I had the paloma all night, great drink! A tad bit sour at first!

Soju like to party on the left and my husband's beer the 2nd Shift Bridget. Taken on the patio!

Walked here after the White Sox game. So glad we got to check out this gem! It was a beautiful day so we decided to sit in their large wrap around patio. They have a large list of unique beers and delicious cocktails. I got the Soju Like to Party frozen drink and Palmer's Pint both were delicious and perfectly balanced. I'm definitely coming back here to try the Korean food. The cheesy rice cakes are calling my name next time! Service was fast and friendly. The perfect place to hang out when you want a low key summertime Chi day!

Great local spot in Bridgeport! Came on a Friday night. Was lively. Loved that Maria was at the door! They offer a really good selection of beers. Also a decent cocktail menu. Their old fashioned is really good! And really fun outdoor patio (note that it closes around 11:30pm on Friday). Inside is three semi separate rooms. All with their own vibe. Loved the white lights.

Wrongly charged by bartenders opening up 2 tabs and only giving me one at close. Other than that decent beer selection.

It was no wonder when we arrived that there was a line out the door. We waited around 45 minutes, and the bouncer was a really nice fellow who kept track of the numbers and people at the door. Upon entering, we were immersed in a dimly lit retro-style lounge. It was quite loud inside and packed as we walked to our seats. The server was great at taking our orders and offering suggestions. I opted for the French 75, which featured sparkling wine and mixed gin, brandies, and citrus. The drink was delicious, but STRONG. I don't know what they put in the cocktails in America, but I am always finished after one drink. Needless to say, we were all struggling to finish our own drinks. My favourite touch was the coasters, I ended up keeping all of them so that I can reuse them at my galentines event next year. The 'bisous' with the kiss on the other side is a perfect touch! I think the drinks are fairly priced for USD. I would love to return someday to try other drinks and bar bites, and also try their sister bar, Sparrow.

Imagine my shock when we didn't even make it past the bouncer because he was so rude, AS OTHER RECENT REVIEWS HAVE MENTIONED AS WELL! We had dinner nearby and walked to Bisous after, and saw there was a line of 5 or 6 people outside. We expected this as we knew Bisous is a first come, first serve bar. We were curious what the wait time would look like, so we approached the front door to ask a host or employee inside (we assumed there'd be a desk with an employee working it who could give us a wait time). We had no problem waiting, just wanted to see how long they estimated it would be! Before we could even fully open the door, the bouncer swung the door open from the other side and hit me with the door. I stumbled back a few steps and he looked at us and said, and I quote, "What do you want?". I laughed at first because I thought he was joking and putting on a tough guy act. He was not. We quickly explained we just wanted to see what the wait time was, and he said "don't you see there's a line outside?" We said yes, and explained we just wanted to know a rough estimated wait time. He just blankly stared at us while ushering us out. Both my boyfriend and I have worked in customer-service roles for a very, very long time. This encounter was not only extremely rude and unprofessional, but he also hit me hard enough with the door to send me stumbling back, and then said nothing about it and continued to address us in a tone that was nothing less than annoyed and irritated. We didn't end up going inside because that encounter left such a bad taste in our mouths. I don't believe in spending my money at establishments that don't treat their customers with the bare minimum respect they deserve! Bummed we didn't get to experience it, as I'm sure it was lovely inside and I can only hope the rest of the employees were much more kind and accommodating, or at least able to answer a simple question. Fire your "bouncer" (??) and hire someone with some basic customer service and communication skills!!
