They have a little patio where a DJ was warming up (it was a Friday night). It's my understanding that this place get real busy on weekends. It was still early, we had a couple of drinks and really enjoyed the place. One thing of note that I've NEVER seen in any other little local bar - this place was immaculate! Spotless! Even the bathrooms were really, really clean. I told the owner I really appreciated his efforts to have a clean bar and that his establishment was a first. He seemed to really like that I'd noticed.

Sarah was amazing and even offered me some of the food they had set up under the TV. Not sure if this is a normal thing but it looked like a lot of potluck style home made and pre-made food they had out. I tried the squash soup she made since the whole trip I was trying to find something Native American and it was great. The drinks were cheap and there aren't so many people so you will get our order quickly. This is the very definition of a dive bar and I'm sure everyone here was a local except for me. I am very outgoing and can get along with a lot of people so I felt comfortable but this isn't somewhere I would bring my kids and wife. For better or worse this was one of my most memorable stops in Roswell.

The kids got chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and somehow it managed to be both lava hot and completely flavorless at the same time. The chicken tasted like it lost a fight with the microwave. The meatloaf? I genuinely have no idea what they served me. It looked like cafeteria mystery meat drowned in tomato puree. Honestly offensive. I ordered the green chile cheeseburger with fries thinking maybe they'd at least get that right. Nope. The green chile had zero spice, zero flavor, zero reason to exist. The burger itself was forgettable at best. And the best part? The bill was nearly $100. For dirty vents, dead flies, bland food, and mystery meat. Would I come back? Not even if someone else was paying.

I can honestly say I could drink their brews daily as there is a wide range of IPA to almost Pils which should satisfy most folks. Beer = damn good! Ambiance is nice but simple. I can see that there might be a vision for branding and a local guitarist setting the tone. I'm all for it! It's a good idea but needs more application. Here's the problem: The service and wait times are very bad. Not the worst I've had, but it will 100% take you 30+ minutes to get a pizza plus wait time in line. To me, that is absolutely unacceptable. I don't have a problem with queuing in line for food and drinks but the speed needs to increase just to adhere to the vibe GMBC is trying to create; a Guadalupe Mountain Brewery that focuses on food, family, and beer. About the pizza, promising an open mind here, it's ok. Again, an oasis in a Domino's wasteland. But Dominos fully cooks their pizzas. I am 100% a pizza snob. I give these pies 2.5/5. Far too many toppings and a pale crust. Less toppings, more heat, more experience from the BOH staff. The pies are not cooked long enough as the cheese is clumpy and uneven and the toppings (veggies mainly) are huge, undercooked and the pizza was served nearly cold! Great portions but poor bake as they prioritize "speed" over making a good pizza. If you have never had a delicious slice, this is a solid step in the right direction. If you are used to professionals creating quality food, you will be disappointed. Still, don't shy away from this brewery as you can have a good (quite long) time as the beers are fairly priced and food will satisfy you. Absolutely throwing shade to the queso which is just canned Queso brand with crappy chips. I might add that the queso came with a hair in it but was slowly rectified by a server that I had to flag down. Ultimately, why should I wait so long in line for food that is minimum standard and is amateurish? Because I'm in Carlsbad, NM and there isn't competition to incentivize this place to be better. I want them to be better because I plan on making this a solid pit stop in the future. Keep up the good work, but continue to improve.

The bag had a receipt attached but the register also printed a second receipt so I didn't think anything of it when the receipt was not removed from the original bag prior to placing it in the larger bag. What's interesting is that he threw the second, just printed, receipt in the trash and didn't affix it to the outside of the bag. When picking the food up I have to take a picture of the receipt to show I have the correct order. I asked him where the receipt was and he said he threw it in the trash. I told him I needed the receipt and he told me it was on the bag inside the larger bag which was stapled shut. I asked him to take the receipt out of the trash so I could at least take a picture and he replies, "no, I'm okay." I also teach music in our public schools snd it's the same attitude that I get from my kindergarten and first grade classes! I eventually had to open the bag, take the receipt off of the other bag to take a picture, and then ask him to staple the bag back together. I, once again, got the comment, "no, I'm okay!" The manager (at least she acted as though she was the manager) stapled the bag back together and told me I needed to be nicer to her employee! VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE WHICH IS WHY I PREFER TO EAT ELSEWHERE AND THIS VISIT HAS NOT CHANGED MY MIND ABOUT THIS PLACE!!

All Sonic Drive-In SUCK. Their employees are careless and irresponsible and negligent. I recently purchased a contaminated Strawberry Real Fruit Slush from this location on Sept 12, 2009. It was contaminated with Peanut Butter a very deadly substance if you have an allergy to nuts. It has been reported to the New Mexico Enviromental Health Dept.. I have recently produced a video Sonic Drive-In A Dangerous Place to Eat or Drink ... which contains 4 actual health code violations from different Sonic Locations.
