I used to go to Sonic ALL the time and was excited there was now one close to home. So, when Groupon had one for Sonic I was excited. So we had a Groupon for $10. I ordered a foot long chili cheese coney and tots, my wife got a grilled cheese and we got an extra tots with cheese. Also, there were only two other cars there. It didn't seem like it was enough to use up the $10 so I called back. Me: Did we order enough? Girl: Yes. Me: Is there money left? Girl: No. Me: What was the total? Girl: $7.07. Me: So there's money left? ... Girl: silence. Call back. A guy this time. Same thing, repeated. Me: So I have $3 to use? Guy: Yes. Me: Ok, throw in an onion rings. Guy: Ok... Silence. 5 minutes later the food came out. EVERYTHING except for the grilled cheese and onion rings were wrong. BUT, was in the ballpark so I said, f-it, let's go. We took a bite of the onion rings, tasted like cake batter, opened the foot long, was more like a half foot long, the tater tots weren't in the order (came with the "foot long" chili cheese coney) and the cheese fries (which should have been cheese tater tots) were cold and the grilled cheese was nasty. My wife threw it out. I had the tiny chili cheese dog, a few of the cold fries and the rest went to the trash. I have NO idea how this place has stuck around this long. The people running the show are about as bright as a group of stoned squirrels and the food is not good enough to feed to raccoons. Terrible, terrible, terrible. I wish no stars was an option. Today was our first visit to this newly opened sonic. The place was booming but the car hops and the drive thru attendants helped to make sure everything stayed calm cool and collected. The lime aids were great the food was pretty good the only bad thing is that our tots were cold. I will be back I am sure, considering my children love sonic and the fact that it is so close to the city. read more

I've had Sonic at different locations before and was happy to hear a new one opened up near the Chicago land area. The service was fast and friendly, no complaints there. The quality of the food was not as good as the other locations that I've dined at before. It's also a bit more expensive than the other fast food joints in the area. Will I return to this location? Terrible! First, the port we were at wasn't working properly (#6). The screen showed one amount and we were given a different amount plus the credit card machine didn't work. The car hop kid came out to show us a receipt before running the card so we were aware of the right charge. We wanted to add a shake so he suggested moving to another port that worked so we wouldn't go thru more trouble. Fair enough. After more than 20 minutes, we see our food go to another car that pulled into #6 after us. We saw them go thru the bag and upon realizing it wasn't their order, give the bag back. The car hop then brought it to us when he realized it was ours and he forgot he told us to move. Ummm we definitely didn't want food that other people were going thru. He said they didn't touch it but we saw them reach into the bag so we asked for a new order. He obliged. It's odd that the first time the food came out it took over 20 minutes yet the second time around was only 5 minutes. Then he forgot to give us our drinks only because the first car kept them. Upon getting home to eat, it was obvious we were given the original food and the order wasn't remade - all of it was very cold. As if that wasn't bad enough, my burger was absolutely disgusting. I took one bite and spit it out. The meat tasted like reheated old meat and the bun was hard. It was so nasty. The only thing worth getting at this place are shakes. Everything else sucks. I had ordered a sundae because I saw a server with sundaes and they looked good! When I got mine they gave a a little dot of whip cream on the side of the sundae. If I could give them zero stars I would. I have never had food that cold ever not only was my food cold but my shakes were totally not mixed. After two weeks of run arounds with their corporate customer service they finally tell me I have to call the location because the location will not respond to there request for a call back. Then after a convo with a GM who needs a lesson in customer service I still don't a resolution to my issue.
