Presentation was a 5/10 because the put a sauced and sloppy lettuce & tomato on it. The heat of transport softened it all and it was a mess when you open the container. Toppings should be on the side. The flavor was a 10/10. The fries were just fries. All in all with a tip it was $56 and not great. The service was 10/10. The man taking orders & serving was very polite. The restaurant was clean, and their outdoor patio looked like it would be enjoyable. I think I'll stick to their land food and give one more try for a burger and maybe the beef street tacos. Solely because of the kind service & proximity to my house.

I usually get the beef but last couple times I have ordered chicken but got similar toppings, Spinach, tomato, chipotle aioli, and fried jalapenos on toasted sourdough. Love it! For a small upcharge you can get a salad as a side, I like to do that because I can steal a few of the delicious fries from my companions. The salad is generous, spring mix, red onion, tomato, croutons. It comes with shaved parmesan, but I ask them to leave that off. The champagne vinaigrette is perfect. Oftentimes she would come by and refill or give us more sauce without even needing to ask which is always nice! For the food, had to get the pretzel bites again this year (didn't get a photo sadly), but they were amazing as always and the cheese sauce was the perfect temp and flavor to go along with the crisp, soft, and slightly sweet pretzel bite dough. For my entree, I went with the NY steak sandwich with a side of onion rings & horseradish sauce. I'm more of a fan of steak sandwiches that have cut meat rather than a full slab/steak, so despite this one being a full steak it was still pretty good. The bread was buttery and crispy, the provel cheese added an STL metro feel to it, and the horseradish sauce, although not very creamy, was a very nice addition (had to request it on the side). The onion rings were just okay; I thought they didn't have too much flavor but they were pretty crunchy which was nice and matched the expected style when looking at them. I would've liked some more flavor from the onion rings and maybe a veggie addition or something to the steak sandwich, but overall the food was pretty good this year. She also didn't know how to make a drink, with that being the case why are you allowed to make any cocktails. If you have a limited cocktail menu but an extensive bar selection you would think their cocktail specials were on point. Nooooo. The BF tried a margarita special and it was awful. I tried a special crafted cocktail that was cool that our waitress asked the guy bartending to specially make because she had no clue about what I was talking about. I hate going to a spot where I make drinks better than the bartenders on hand and that's your job. The BF ordered the the garlic burger and I ordered the Korean wings which NEVER came out because our waitress forgot to order them. So I shared food with the BF. The burger was extremely underwhelming, not seasoned at all. How do you specialize in burgers and mess that up. The best item we ate was the fries and the comedy show was good. I love dinner and entertainment. We are burger enthusiast and if this what your restaurant specializes in I expect to be wowed. We saw all the social media hype surrounding this place and were so excited to try them. To find out it was ALL just hype is a real let down. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the food bc I had dinner plans, but I did stay for a couple drinks. They have a great selection of spirits and cocktail specials. My friend got a tequila sunrise, so I followed suit. The pour was quite generous, I must say, and I'm def not complaining. The drink was smooth, with the perfect amount of tequila and sweetness. The bartenders working were both friendly and sociable. The vibe was relaxed and is a great alternative when things get too crazy at the dam. While I only got drinks, I'll for sure be back. The smells alone (all good of course) will have you lingering back!

It's not really a truck stop, but it is part of a convenience store at a Phillips 66 gas station. The only options for burgers in Waterloo near where we are, are either fast food or Denny's, Applebees, etc. It's a bit of a drive down Rte 3 to Red Bud, but if you want a very good burger at a reasonable price it's worth making the trip.

It helps to walk to and from the shop on a nice day as a reward for the kids. :)
