I've been to this Sonic's probably a handful of times. When I lived in Kettering, I went a little more often. I did a DoorDash order recently and ordered the Foot-Long Quarter Pound Coney, Tator Tots, and Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger. The Quarter Pound Coney came wrapped in a mylar sleeve, the tator tots in a cup, and the Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger was wrapped in a foil wrapper. The Quarter Pound Coney looked like it was haphazardly placed in the bun. It wasn't visually appealing. It tasted okay but the hot dog bun seemed a little doughy. The medium tator tops seemed more like a small size to me. The were good but overly salted. I don't mind a little salt but this was way too much. The Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger was okay but again not visually appealing. The order didn't come with any utensils. Sonic's used to provide a fork and knife, which is especially helpful for a messy coney. However, this time they did not. There were two mints and two packets of ketchup. Overall, I would rate this an average experience. It's okay but nothing to rave about and there are plenty of other alternative dining options nearby. read more

Don't order using the app because they will not bring it out. Your food will sit there while they make you sit through the drive thru line to get it. Also the food was loaded with an excess amount of added salt. From the tots to the burger. Salt city. I'm not usually bothered by salt but this was like poring it straight from the shaker into my mouth. Would not recommend it. If you want a smash burger just go to smash burger instead. read more

At lunch time I ordered a #11 combo (chicken sandwich). The lady at the comm asked what sauce I wanted with that. Confused, I asked if the #11 even came with any sauce. She then says she thought I said a different order. Once I confirmed I wanted a number #11 I received no response. I waited for over 10 minutes for any response, asking every once in a while if anyone was there. After still no response, me and two other cars left the line. So we go to order on the app and their app was having technical difficulties for ten minutes. The girl at the speaker was SO RUDE! yelling at us before we even got to the speaker. Saying she's just gonna hang up if no one is gonna answer. Then asks if we have a Mobil order, we did not, then gonna ask okay so "fries or tots" and laugh... we started ordering, she kept interrupting. We said "and the last thing is a small mozzarella stick" and before we could even finish the sentence she read the order back and it was WRONG, also without the mozzarella stick. Yikes! Read the reviews about 20 min waits as I sat in line... I left line one day bc it took too long. They took the persons order in front of me and it appeared they were only doing one order at a time - as in, they take the order, it seems like same worker goes to make it, and then, when the order is filled, they'll then come back on the mic to take your order. I'm surprised the owners aren't working around the clock to figure out a solution for faster service. I think people will stop going to this place - so, I'd recommend only checking it out if there's no line or no customers... Goal isn't to be critical, but I hope they figure something out read more

Just went to sonic near my house. workers are so rude. pulled up to the drive thru, was waiting for a few minutes just on my phone waiting for someone to say something honestly anything and then the worker goes "are you going to order or what?" i was appalled. The workers were just standing around eating when I pulled up. The blonde worker that took my order wearing the headset was also standing around eating. The guy that took my card just told my total and then gave me my food and just shut the window. I worked in fast food before, would never treat someone like this. Not surprised by all the bad reviews about this location though I am surprised that they're still open. This is the closest location to me but honestly would drive to a different location honestly cause of how I was treated. I did a mobile order on the app and it told me to arrive 55 minutes after I placed my order. I arrived five minutes after I placed my order and put the stall number I was in. Waited for 10 minutes then press the button. Waited for another 10 minutes then press the button again. Then went through the drive-through for them to tell me that they did not have my order and it was my fault for leaving the stall and going through the drive-through. I am currently in the drive-through and have been waiting for about 30 minutes. I love Diet Coke... But maybe not 30 minutes worth my time. read more

Just took my brother and cousin here for dinner and had probably the worst fast food experience of my life. We each got a 5 piece chicken tender with a chocolate shake pretty simple right ? Apparently not. We couldn't pay at the kiosk where we parked because the chip reader was busted. After 20 minutes of waiting an employee came out to let us know they're dropping fresh chicken and it shouldn't be more then a few minutes longer. Almost 25 minutes later our order was brought to us by an employee who didn't say a single word to me just walked over to my window handed me the food and walked away. I was expecting him to bring out a card reader or something since I hadn't paid but he left before I could even put the shakes down so at that point I just left. Fun place to kill an afternoon. We got all the specialty dogs and split them. The New York - My favorite with sauerkraut and hot mustard. Bob wouldn't even try that one The Coney Island-chili and cheese. Chili was too sweet for me but this was Bob's favorite. Cincinnati chili and too sweet for my taste American - (sweet relish, onion, ketchup and another turd... musturd) The Chicago - dill pickle, sesame seeds and peppers. Neither of of us liked this one...dill pickle tasted old. Ate on the patio cause its a beautiful day. My friends and I came through and got a few milkshakes. They finished them very quickly, but at the speaker we asked if the cashier wouldn't mind repeating our order and were told very curtly to pull up instead. When we got home, we discovered four of our shakes were made incorrectly. We came back and asked for a refund, where they were extremely rude. They remade our milkshakes and when we got them back, they were STILL incorrect. By then, we just gave up and a couple of us didn't drink ours. Overall, not a good experience at all. The Kettering location is the absolute worst. I mean it's really just awful. Service is VERY slow, and they consistently get orders wrong. I will never go back. I have no idea how this location stays in business. I was actually pissed that I was asked to go there to get food, and once again they lived down to my expectations. Several cars in front of me and it took maybe 10 minutes to get to the window. Then I spent 10 minutes AT the window because the order for which they charged me bore absolutely no resemblance to what i actually told them. 20 minutes for one combo meal. Corporate really needs to come in and overhaul this location. CONSISTENTLY the worst service in the area. Their AC is always out, so they can only make slushes 2 days out of the week. This was the SLOWEST sonic drive thru I have ever been to. I ordered ahead as they advertise "be first in line!" if you use the app. This is not the case, we watched at least 20 cars go through the drive thru before our food was even "On its way". We sat in the stall for a half hour. Our food was cold by that time. If I could rate it out of 10, it would get a 0. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. I just moved back to Dayton after being gone for 2 years so I am in the process of looking for a job, and in the meantime I do DoorDash. I got 2 orders today for 2 customers, so I pulled into the stall that said "Delivery or app orders only", pressed the button and waited for several minutes. I saw a few cars move up in the Drive Thru line and they still had not answered the stall so I decided to go through the Drive Thru. I waited a solid 10 minutes in the line itself, 5 minutes at the speaker just waiting to tell them that I had a couple orders, and 5-7 minutes at the window. Just for the employee (this one was a younger girl and she was somewhat nice) to hand me 2 of the 4 items from ONE of the orders and tell me to pull up and pointed to a particular spot in front of the drive thru. There I waited about 20 minutes just for a very rude employee to come out and yell at me saying that I'm "in the way" and that people "can't get past the car" when another person had been sitting in the exact same spot, actually they were further back than I was) and nothing was said to them. The employee said that I had to move my car "right now" so people can leave. Ironic she can say that but their line is still so slow. Anyways, back on topic, I was sitting in a parking spot for 20 minutes,and in that time I ended up calling DoorDash asking what could be done. I was on the phone with DoorDash support for 10 minutes in total and towards the end of the phone call when the support team had me on hold so that they could call the store, the 2nd DoorDash order was brought out. But not the other 2 items from the 1st order. So I politely said, I'm still missing the other items for ***'s order. This extremely rude man said "we don't have a ***" repeatedly as he was walking away. I'm honestly not one to take lightly to disrespect but I managed to hold my tongue until he was back in the building. Out of the three Sonics I have been to in my life- this one is the best. They have really good customer service and your order is made promptly. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! ZERO STARS!! Outright rude and lazy employees! Beyond slow no matter how many cars are waiting. Today I had to call corporate. I had ordered through the app and waited for over 15 minutes and went up to the patio to see what was going on. At the time someone else was there to order and this man (tall and larger set for clarification based on other reviews it sounds like a lot are about the same employee) comes busting out the front door cussing saying nobody is ordering unless it's through the drive thru and was very rude and confrontational. I told her I knew the order was not going to come out correctly just by the way it had to be repeated. She just walked away from the window. No service. I always go to SONIC to just get a grilled cheese and tater tots.I also get their ice cream products, which are pretty good.But, one time, I asked for the limited time big scoop cookie dough sundae.They said it was currently not in stock and I went to McDonalds.So then, about 2 weeks later, I asked if they had it.They said no again.It was not just me asking for it.Every single person was asking for a big scoop cookie dough sundae and SONIC kept saying they did not have it.Remember, there is a food store right next door.I asked for it the third and final time and they said they ended it.And I still saw ads for it!
