I ordered the hand-breaded steak fingers and my lunch partner ordered the chicken tenders. The steak fingers were excellent, about as good as mom makes assuming your mom is a great cook! My friend couldn't quite finish hers and handed me a chicken tender, which was huge! The breading was perhaps a bit too heavy, and the chicken itself was probably cooked a little bit longer than ideal, and was resultantly dry - but it was still tasty. Before I ordered, I asked whether the fries were frozen or not, and she assured me that everything they make is from scratch and that the fries are hand-punched on-site from actual raw potatoes--and wow--the french fries here are really good-- a bit on the soggy or soft side, but I prefer this than for them to be overcooked and get too much moisture cooked out of them which can result in a tough and leathery texture. In any event, I really enjoyed the fries. We arrived a little bit after their 11 AM opening and halfway through our meal there, a line started to form at the walk up window as well as the drive-through, a testing to their food's quality. Everything about this place was fantastic. The food was absolutely amazing. The burgers were cooked perfectly, the fries were delicious, and they have a great selection of beers to go with it. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the staff. Our waiter, Drew, went above and beyond. He took the time to walk us through the menu, answered all our questions, and kept bringing extra sauces, jalapeños, and anything else we might want without us even having to ask. Another young man named Zo stopped by our table twice just to check in and make sure everything was perfect and to see if there was anything he could do to make our visit even better. That kind of attention and genuine hospitality really made an impression. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming. If I'm not mistaken, this is Hobbs' first chocolatier. They had so many delightful chocolate covered items - from nuts to jalapenos. My daughters were dying to try ice cream and stuck to their flavors. The youngest had two scoops in a cup of Krazy Kolors. Bold colors of red, blue, and yellow, but it tasted like plain vanilla to me. Lol. The oldest had two scoops of Cookie Two Step, which was chocolate chip cookie dough. Very cream. Large chunks of chocolate. The decent-sized cold mounds were served in small plastic ball caps both for $12.14.
