Below that, in significantly smaller lettering, it said "Boba-75 cents." So basically, you pay for the tea, then you pay for the boba. Whack, I know. I'm pretty sure we were some of the first customers that these people have ever served. Anyway, my siblings and I all ordered the NORMAL sized ORIGINAL teas, and when they rang them up, each drink was ELEVEN DOLLARS. Now, I'm no mathematician, but I'm pretty sure those numbers don't add up. Additionally, you can't get anything in a size small, only large. And that seems pretty dang skeevy to me. We paid anyway, as I am both a coward and a pushover. When my mom, who is much braver than I, went in to talk to the man behind the counter, he gave us each a whopping one dollar bill for our troubles. How generous. We won't be back. So all of Hat Creek's meat options are delicious, and it turns out that... their veggie burger is as well! The patty is a black bean and quinoa patty with the normal burger fixings of lettuce, tomato, onion, and mustard. It doesn't try to match the flavor of a beef or turkey burger, but rather lets the beans and quinoa do the incredibly tasty work of making it good. This does mean that the patty doesn't hold the texture quite as well as a beef patty does... but who cares, since it's *delicious.* The sweet potato fries were also lovely, crisp, and just sweet enough that they went perfectly with the burger. Service was prompt and friendly and the only nitpick is that they forgot to include ketchup, but given how good the fries were on their own, that's *fine.* All told, wonderful food and a great vegetarian option..

That combo and a sandwich was under $30 after tax, which felt great for the indulgent, tasty meal that we enjoyed. Needed a recovery nap, it was great. Single error was not including the ketchup he requested, which I share only in the interest of transparency. I mean, in my house ketchup is to make mid to poor fries tolerable and Hat Creek's sweet potato fries are great. Their good service and quality groceries continue, so will our visits will too.
