After many years of usage and surviving Hurricane Sandy & Ida, our washer finally gone to suds heaven. Checking out many reviews, my partner and I found this laundromat close to the house in Garfield. Opened 5 years ago, Sonic Suds has been operating on a card system utilizing Cash, EBT, Credit, Debit, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Gone are those days where washers or dryers accepted quarters. Upon arrival, the interior is spacious with 48 washers varying between small to large and 50 dryers between regular to oversized. Greeted by Amy who was friendly and very helpful especially explaining the card system and usage of the washer and dryer. Overall, cool bright design and layout, plenty of room, wide aisles, tons of folding tables and free wifi. Machine cleaned well and prices reasonable. I would recommend this place. read more

When this place First opened up, this place felt warm and welcome. It also felt affordable. Now every week the prices seem to be going up and up. My employees are nice, others seem to give attitudes. My mother was looking for help today and the employee with brown curly hair about 5"2 Latina gave my mother and attitude. She claimed my mother didn't put the machine on. We have to dry the clothes twice on 21 minutes. The clothes were still not dry. The employee then passed as we were packing up the clothes gave both of us a dirty look. My mother and I refuse to use that laundromat ever again. I suggest most do the same thing. read more

just now NEW This place get worse 1st time I drop off close to be washed when I picked them up they were perfectly fold, very nice clean, smell good , 2nd time so so, 3rd time when I bring them home one of the jacket the leaning inside was ripped off, Looks like whoever folded was really rough on trying to zip up the jacket. The manager said they are not responsible for delicate clothes and I understand that but why would you damage someone close in purpose , if thay are delicate leave them alone. I was at the laundromat yesterday I accidentally used my debit card I forgot I had less then $10 on my card and the machine charged me a little less then $4 dollars on my card and I never received anything on my sonic suds card I left my debit card info with a Spanish woman who works there and she told me that her boss would call me about the issue and I have yet to receive a call, overall I still love doing my laundry here, please ! they were so focused on putting money into making the place look good but not into fixing their machines or getting more carts for the laundry. People are in here fighting for carts and machines. Cam in here and they literally have 6 washing machines down. Time to find another laundromat. read more

This place has been a relief. I have been getting tired of the other local places. This place is clean and has great machines. Yes, it is a bit more pricey but your clothes are clean and totally dry. There is plenty of room which is a plus. Comfortable chairs, great televisions and vending. There is a bathroom but the light never seems to go on. I need to use my phone light to find the toilet. But best of all, the staff is friendly unlike a local place in botany village. Another nice benefit is that the TV's are on different channels. Some local places only play Spanish television and if you don't understand it then there is no tv for you. read more

I come here to do my laundry every two weeks & today as I'm taking clothes out from 2 machines on one side, the attendant took out my clothes from one of my machines on the other side for someone else. I was not happy about that at all. I can understand if I'm not in the vicinity or I left the machines unattended but to have the audacity to do that while I'm there and to not ask around if the machine belongs to anyone is unprofessional. I believe management should train their attendees a little better on this. Not everyone likes their personal belongings being handled by someone else. read more

I love this place the machines wash great and dry great. There is a lot of room for lounging and waiting for your laundry as well as plenty of space for folding. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The only thing is the only restroom they have could use a baby changing table . They also have massage chairs (2) that take card or cash. I love coming to this laundromat because It is clean and very spacious. They have plenty of couches and televisions for you to use while you wait. I come here once a week and use the $1 machines (only weekdays) and it is such a deal. They have plenty of big washers for blankets and they have an easy to use card system (no coins). It is located within a mini mall right next to a Rite Aid so if you forget your detergent you can just go next door and get more. I think this is a great establishment and highly recommend it. read more

I've been to this laundromat all of 3 times since they been open and now i remember why. The washer don't wash your clothes that's well and the dryer are shitty... I will never return to the establishment ever again , & get better employees that'll understand English and speak it well too. Don't waste your time or money. read more

This place is the wost but not only this location but all the sonic suds locations in New Jersey are bad. Not clean, dirty machines expensive and the employees are just horrible. Worst experience ever! The attendant that worked 03/29/17 was extremely rude and lazy! My wife was the last wash and had lots to fold. When the time went a bit passed closing she was approached and told to hurry up and shove her clothes in the bag without folding and get out. As a paying customer she has the right to finish her the right to fold her clothes, not to be told if she doesn't get out that the cops will be called! She also called to speak to Paul the owner and was told they wouldn't connect her to him and that she WILL NOT have her money returned. read more

This place is absolutely horrible, I just came in at 9:57pm, when they close at 12am, the service lady decided to say out loud. "She got 2 mins to wash" she said to the guy across the room and when I asked what she had said, she proceeded to tell me in the rudest manor ever, "you got 2 minutes to load your machines" I told her you guys close at 12, why do you have to be so rude? "She argued and said "no we don't look at the door", she pointed at the small logo on the door barely visible, "we take our last wash at 10" she said. I told her I'm going to tell the owner, how you are treating his loyal customers. She proceeded to call her boss, he got on the phone and I explained how his staff was treating a frequent customer. He said "well that is the way it works, she's right the last was is at 10". That's all I needed to hear, I will never wash my clothes at this establishment. The owner doesn't care about customer service and keeping customers, he allows his employees to act in the most grotesque manor with no consequence of any. And to think I had small loads. 28 min wash and 30 mins to dry. read more
