I'm leaving this review because I want other vendors--especially disabled vendors--to know what they're walking into. I was genuinely excited about participating in the Holiday Market at Sonny's Place. I toured the grounds with one of their ambassadors, discussed my accessibility needs, and was told they'd help me secure a comfortable setup. I even took the time to alert their team about scam posts on Facebook from people pretending to collect vendor fees--trying to protect their community. Instead of being met with professionalism or gratitude, I was removed as a vendor without explanation. No courtesy call, no clarity, nothing but dismissive behavior from Mackenzie, the person handling vendor relations. After everything I shared and the effort I put in, her response made it clear how poorly these events are managed. To make matters worse, the building itself is not ADA accessible, which violates the basic principles of ADA Title III. As a full-time wheelchair user, that alone speaks volumes. Equal access should never be an afterthought. I came in with good faith, ready to create something beautiful for families and children. Instead, I left disappointed, stressed, and honestly shocked at how little care was given to accessibility or communication. Vendors--especially those of us in the disability community--should think twice before signing up. Avoid the headache and the heartache. You deserve better than this. read more

Do not come here unless you're okay with signing away all of your rights, even if it's caused by negligence and employee etc, because you're forced to sign a waiver before you can enter even if you're not doing any physical activity. The waiver includes everything, even if it's negligence or caused by an employee. Absolutely ridiculous. Loved it!! Birthday parties are also really fun and well made. The rides are cool, atmosphere is the best part with their nice fire pits all around and it's just nice fresh air to enjoy. The prices are outrageous. $17 for a pulled pork sandwich with no side. If you want to add fries it's $5.50 because they don't have sizes, it's one size. No small. So $22.50 not including tax for an a pulled pork sandwich & fries is Highway robbery! If it was priced reasonably it would be something to come get once a week, but at those prices I won't be getting it again even though it was good. The one size fry thing is frustrating because a single person doesn't need a whole basket. The dole whip also comes in a huge cup one size, everything is big & overpriced, this place is not kid friendly for food sizes & prices. Seems like they're taking advantage of their main customers. Our company retreat was held this Friday! We had a Blast! From laser tag , Go Karts, Ski Ball, Carousel and Interactive 3D plus much more. Employees were kind and very helpful with how to navigate the different activities. Nice, clean and most of all a stress reliever to our busy days at work. Really great mini golf and they're all decorated for fall and Halloween. Just a fun place!!

A joy for the kids of all ages. There's so much to keep the kids busy and entertained and for the adults to join in as well. Go carts were fantastic. They can drive their own if they are 10+ or with an adult. There are two minigolf courses, and water bumper boats- they will get wet, bring spare clothes we learned. Best deal was the $10 wrist band for the play place. They can come and go as much as they want all day. Otherwise I have to admit it is on the pricey side. We easily went through a $120 card (for $100) with 2 kids. read more

My 2 year old son had a blast in the play area. For 9 dollars it's one of the nicest I've ever seen. Very large and wide enough for a 6'2" 220lb dad to crawl through and not have back issues. It's outdoors but provides decent cover from direct sunlight. It's almost all cargo net so relatively hygienic compared to other play structures. The arcade was a little small but definitely nice. Will come back when he is able to ride some of the rides. read more

Attended my 45th High School reunion here yesterday and the venue was a complete disaster. What was thought to be a rented space between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM on a Saturday turned out to be nothing more than a pocket of tables among an ever increasing throng of barfly's crashing the area we thought was dedicated to our reunion. It was not. The same for cross town Fermi. They too had their bar over run with people not associated with either reunion. As horrible as that was, our event was further ruined by some bullshit garage band playing at the face of an open area between the two reunion events. Whoever ran the sound system should have been talked to by Sonny's staff. The volume was obnoxiously loud effectively breaking up our reunion. It drew in even more barfly types and made it uncomfortably intimidating. I found out later that the band wasn't even associated with either reunion. By 8:00 PM it was effectively over for me. I don't blame my classmates for trying Sonny's out. How could they possibly know ahead of time that Sonny's would allow it to be a free for all? That aside, I was happy to see ALL of my former classmates and those of cross town Fermi. Even if it was cut short by chaos. A bait and switch with the only outcome in favor of Sonny's maximizing their profit by allowing uncontrolled access to what was supposed to be a special event that happens every five years. My advice would be to take your reunion budget and spend it somewhere that cares to provide a suitable environment for such a gathering. Through this experience, Sonny's is not that place. read more

I was looking for a fun place to surprise my son for his 13th birthday and I found Sonny's, he was so excited. Next year I will have his birthday party there since he loves it so much, he kept saying that he loved it, it was the best the birthday ever. They had a mini golf, arcade, batting cages and so much more, I am planning on coming back in the summer for him to enjoy the outside fun. My hubby was also having so much fun with him and they both came up to me and begged for more money to play games lol and of course I gave in and they both had so much fun,they also have a restaurant so it was absolutely wonderful, we will definitely be back to this wonderful place. read more

A wonderful safe place to enjoy the best local music! Large dance area outside in front of band. Lots of local line dancers all mixing in together. Great food and drinks and a very nice atmosphere. Ice cream too! Lots of fun for families in fresh air. Enjoying Steel and Eazy Band, Cobblestone Road and some other great music. Large parking lot. Not far from the Massachusetts line just south of Hampden. In Somers Connecticut. Hamburger and bbq out back by band is a huge plus. Reasonable prices. Haven't seen a cover charge either. You now have to fill out an electronic waiver administered by a sketchy third party that requires both your telephone number and your email address, no doubt so they can spam you for the rest of your life. They do not legally need this information. They need you to sign a document, at best. Most other places have an implied waiver when you buy a ticket, or you fill out your waiver on a kiosk. There are no tickets at Sonny's, they just nickel and dime you as you go, so now you instead get harassed to scan a QR code by children in polo shirts on the way in. If anything they should do it when you put money on your card, but requiring it to be on property is silly. As far as the attractions go, you can still buy a card and get some bonus money on it, which is nice. However, unless you photograph the sign that has the prices when you buy the card, it's impossible to tell how much things cost as you go because nothing is marked at the gate, apart from the mini golf. The food and ice cream are reasonably priced but everything like mini golf, zipline, go kart type stuff is way over priced and it's really easy for a family to blow a bunch of money in no time- mostly because all things take no time at all, you're off the go-karts like like five minutes. In the future I'll probably just take the kids to Six Flags or something, the lines can be bad but the unlimited pass is cheap if you go often. Also, if I have to deal with corporate insurance waiver nonsense I'd prefer it be with a known entity and not some third party LLC that collects too much info and has nothing to do with the establishment. read more

There is a lot to do here but there is a potential accident in the making. Last night I brought a work group here, and we enjoyed the (really slow) go-carts and the new mini golf area in the front. This place is limited with staff and all of them seem to be college age or high school besides the bartender! Last night thunderstorms came through as we were under a severe storm watch. I know on a real course we never could have started our round. We played all 19 holes. Lightning happened many times and nobody warned us or any other golfers of danger. No announcement, no bell and no horn. I think that could be a serious issue if lightning struck here. Somers doesn't need any more tragedies. As far as things to do, there is an arcade, two mini golf spots, merry go round, go karts, bar area with live entertainment, zip line, and water stuff. I am not sure what the green thing was behind the new mini golf. Trampoline? So if it's a nice night here, enjoy! If there are storms in the forecast, keep your kids that may be of age (high school or college age) away and keep them safe. This place could be an accident waiting to happen read more

This is an awesome place for kids. They have mini-golf, a jungle gym, batting cages, an arcade, and so much more. I, however, will be reviewing their ice cream. Typically they serve their ice cream from a window outside, but during the winter they move inside. They have both indoor and outdoor seating however. When they are selling their ice cream outside they have a solid selection, however when they move inside they only have 3-4 flavors. They get their ice cream from a supplier called "Ice Cream Machine" out of RI. I tried their chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and, although the mix-in's were plentiful, the ice cream left much to be desired since it was pretty icy. They also only have generic cones. Today was our second time going to Sonny's and we had an absolute blast! First time was about 1 year ago and went with my husband and 6 year old daughter. Both times visits were stellar. The place is super clean and new. So much fun for both our daughter and us. The laser tag, go karts, VR, and bumper boats were our favorite. The staff was all super nice. We get there early as it is all families with similar aged children. We plan to do the mini golf during our next visit! read more

Decided to come here after my sons father brought him when he was a bit too young. I figured at almost 40" he would be able to ride most of the rides but unfortunately the height requirement for most of the rides were 42"! So he was still too "small" for most of the rides and what was even more frustrating is we drove an hour and half to basically play in the play area & ride a carousel (which we could have done closer to home). Sonny's need to be a bit more specific regarding HEIGHT AND AGE requirements on their websites as we came here to primarily ride the go karts but the staff member wouldn't let him ride due to him unable to verbalize that he was four years old. This was really UNFAIR especially because he met the height requirement!!! Otherwise I probably would have given 5 stars as the place is very clean and immaculate & everything is brand new! Staff is serious about their job- which is great to know safety is the forefront, but to measure each individual for each ride is a little extreme! They measured my son for the carousel- and wouldn't allow him to ride alone - which was fine by me, but with long lines and a ton of kids there- I can see this getting a bit annoying! The most frustrating part about yesterday was their rule regarding the go kart rides. My son met the height requirement which was 36" but because he wasn't 4 years old or because he couldn't tell the staff person that he was 4- they wouldn't let him on! I'm sorry but that completely ruined and upset my young son. If he meets the height requirement to go on with an adult- they should allow him to go on with an adult regardless of age. The fact that a lot of young children have speech impediments (my son included) is extremely frustrating. So unfortunately this is why I had to give 3 stars and not 5 stars. Otherwise a great place with A TON of activities for kids but unless your child is at least 42" tall, I'd wait until they are that height to come here. I can't even begin to write about the 20+ activities for kids because they have sooo much including: batting cages, A zip line, an awesome beautiful mini golf course, rock climbing walls, monkey jumping, a NASA simulator, an enclosed play area, a bar and restaurant, a full sized arcade complete with a bowling alley, Go Karts, A carousel, a seasonal haunted hay ride and more that I'm sure I'm forgetting! read more

Went here today for my daughter's birthday party. I have called in 2 weeks before to schedule the time and requirements of the party. We arrived at the place and the place looked so empty with no one available to even guide the people coming in. There was an old lady visiting to buy a gift card for her grandson and looked so lost and asked us where to go but we ourself are in the same boat. Finally when we figured and entered the arcade area, I was so surprised to see that we do not have anything setup. I have to wait 10 more mins to catch an attendee and then another 5 mins to talk to the manager to hear that they mistaken my schedule Time and made no arrangements. Great! So frustrated. They took us into the laser tag first so meanwhile they can arrange the party room. From there every thing went smooth. Kids and also adults in our group enjoyed the game, followed by pizza and soda. Pizza wasn't great though. I asked for an ice cream cake with an additional $ and added piniata as well. Both are good. We ended with a 5$ game card for each. 28$ for a person for 2 hours sounds a little expensive but my kids had fun. Also to balance the inconvenience they didn't charge me for the 4 adults that joined the party. Overall it's a fun time in a clean place. But beware that their phone operation is so bad that you cannot really reach out to convey any messages regarding your party planning . A big group of teenagers showed up moments after they closed the door. The girl could have easily let the big guys in, but she took a look and said they would have to wait till the next round. Arcade = Abysmal. I have yet to see a Jersey Jack Pinball machine get neglected...until I stepped foot into this place. $1.00 a play for a JJP is completely reasonable, until this PoS started up. Could not believe the condition. Left flipper solenoid was shot at the top, weak on the bottom. Beyond the one pinball machine, (thank god this place didn't have more to let rot) half the games in the arcade didn't work anyways. Complete failure of an arcade. Great prices! They way the staff decked out the mini golf course for Halloween theme is gorgeous. Filled with carved pumpkins, red color fountains to simulate blood, excellent Halloween ambient sounds through good quality sounding speakers. This was our first visit. I love Sonnys. Place is great. However the staff of children are useless and stand around in groups doing nothing. How about wiping down tables when it rains and picking up trash. Earn your paycheck. Stay busy, 20 parents standing watching their kids and can't sit due to wet seats why staff is in their phones. This is a great place for families as I still come every weekend. Sonny's place has a fun atmosphere. The attractions are fun on concept. However , 2 of the batting cages did not work. Parents aren't allowed to sit in the kids play-place and watch them. The restaurant was an egregious display of food. The "injection" burger had nothing injected in, was asked for medium rare, got it well done. Sent the nachos back because they were burnt and i got them returned in a gross manner. The waitress said since i "didn't want them ovened" they were microwaved...?? They served two of our orders as the completely wrong entree. The server was nothing shy of a hot mess. If it were not for my 3 kids i would not think even once about coming back. Really loved this place! Went here for the first time and really enjoyed all the activities you could do here for a reasonable price! We did mini golf, the batting cages, the bumper car, played in the arcade and ate at their grill. Almost all their activities were under $10, so it was a good place to spend a nice day outside. The food at their grill was pretty good, and they had a ton of ice cream options. It came out pretty quickly too for the amount of people that were there ordering. The mini golf course was great! 18 holes, challenging and fun. It got crazy busy though, so I'd suggest doing this early if it's on your list. The batting cages were also fun - they provided a solid number of bats and helmets - all of which were really clean. We did, however, get really frustrated with the machines. Slow pitch, the balls went waayyyy too high, and anything faster they were bouncing off the ground. I will say they have a ton of high-school aged employees, some of which didn't have the best attitude. But that's not enough to ruin your day. Overall, a solid place to spend a few hours on a sunny day. And make sure to try their ice cream. read more

Northern CT's best kept secret. I've passed by a few times with no intention of stopping in. While trying to figure out what to do this evening, my friend recommended mini-golf. So, we chose Sonny's and what a great gem this place is! We pulled in and immediately noticed they offer much more than mini golf. There are batting cages, go carts, arcade, ice cream, bounce houses, a zip line, live music, a full bar, and a BBQ place. I know, I know, food at a mini golf place, yuck. Not at all!! It was so good. We had BBQ chicken and it came with potato salad, corn on the cob, and a slice of watermelon. After she kicked my butt in mini golf and we finished dinner, we retired to the one of three large fire pits with our drinks. There was a talented musician playing and taking requests. He was super personable and even entertained our love of hair metal. We had a great night. I wish I knew about Sonny's sooner. I had no idea what a fantastic place this is. read more

The two apathetic and inhumane staff members did not make it better. My sister's boyfriend invited us all to play laser tag and to reserve our spots had us give him money. We emerge excited to be a part of this, sadly that activity turned very quickly. Only one person in the party was in charge of the schedule, so partially to blame, we arrived 3 minutes past our scheduled slot. The employees told us we COULD NOT get a refund, credits or a new time slot without paying AGAIN. In no way did the men mean to come off as "aggressive" but they are rather large men.. who "intimidated" the man/boy (regular with glasses ) working the laser tag counter when getting update about the potential for a canceled celebration due to policy that borderlines legal robbery. We discussed and bartered with the employee and his manager (red headed lady starting with an "a") and got nowhere, we had a child with us and we needed to get moving. We decided to go contemplate our options and if we even wanted to give our time and money to this establishment. As we were deciding .. to make things worse.. the two employees walked up with SECURITY, for this misunderstanding, I thought up called for. Which made a whole new situation from a minimal situation embellished by two entitled employee. My entire family is in customer service and I have never been treated with such dirt in the wound until that Sunday (5-29). They proceeded to tell security we were disrespectful and aggressive (leaning over the counter, touching things that weren't "ours"(or theirs)) and he approached as such which was intimidating since we saw nothing wrong, with getting a little upset about legal robbery and the deliberate missed chance to reconcile. Very disappointed I cannot spend my money here without worrying about the fine print in todays society, everyone needs a win.. stop bringing us down.. bring the community up! PROS: -Nice space. Clean and well taken care of. -Battings cages are a hit. They are where the majority of my time is spent. -One of the best go-kart tracks around according to the boys in my house. CONS: -Turbo-boost button on the go-karts doesn't work depending on which kart you get. -Disappointing arcade. -Cost adds up quickly. -Does not take long to become boring, but that might just be because it's not really on par with anything I personally super enjoy.
