We mainly stay at 5 star resorts and my husband is a hard man to please. However, by the end of our trip my husband turned to me and said it was such a great stay here at Sonoma Bungalows ! We came from SF to celebrate our anniversary here and it was amazing! I was deciding between here or the Ritz Carlton. It must be 2 years of the pandemic but the thought of staying in a small boxed, hotel room for a few days was not appealing. Choosing Sonoma Bungalows was the best decision ! We got the 2 bedroom Dixon house and it looked just like the photos- if not better. The home was so beautiful, spacious, and super cozy. Everything looked brand new and was super clean. Although there aren't really a lot of amenities like at a traditional hotel, u can book a massage with Spa Sonoma and they have a masseuse come to you. The hotel also has bikes u can rent and also fire pits to sit and chill. Location is fantastic. The neighborhood feels extremely safe. All the restaurants and shops are literally a step outside the door. During our stay we went out for brunch and took a stroll in the Sonoma Plaza every day. Napa is also not far away. We chose to drive to downtown Napa for dinner both nights and it was only 25-30 minutes away. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need to cook. Whole Foods is also just around the corner. Thirsty or need snacks? 7/11 is just 2 doors away. Overall, great value, clean, cozy hotel/houses, and superb location. Where do I start!? We came here to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. The pictures don't do this place any justice. The property is newly built with updated furnishings. They did not spare any expense when building and decorating. They even had heated floors The bed and pillows were so comfy , I meant to get the brand so I could buy them for my house . My favorite amenities by far were the fireplace and fire pit.. both came in handy for those chilly Sonoma nights The bungalows are within walking distance to a bunch of restaurants and cute little shops. Things close pretty early though (9pm).. probably because of Covid-19. If you want to go to wineries or hang out in Napa, it is about a 30 min drive to downtown. Lastly, the owners were super friendly and hospitable! They go out there way for their guest! I'll certainly be back. read more

My wife and I love Sonoma with all of its charms and we were looking for a few days stay just as a quick get-away. We are familiar with many of the available properties in Sonoma but we thought that we'd try a new place. After some Google and Yelp research, we came across an intriguing venue. Right in the center of town, steps from the town square, was this new Inn; the Sonoma Bungalows! After looking at the property photos and reading reviews, we realized that we stumbled across quite a jewel. From the minute that we walked through the front door of our bungalow, we realized that this is no ordinary place to stay! The owners of the bungalows, Michael and Valerie put their hearts into the design and quality of each suite. We were impressed with the size of the rooms...lots of space. It was even equipped with a gourmet kitchen, complete with our favorite Nespresso machine! The furnishings are all top quality on the quality level of Restoration Hardware. Our stay was in the hottest two days of the year and the A/C had no problem keeping us cool. Also if you're like me, I like total quiet when I sleep, and like the other reviewers commented, the bed was like heaven. Michael and Valerie have thought out every detail. Very good! The room we were in had a bedroom with shower and the shower was huge but had no bars to hold onto. We also had a kitchen and living room. No pool or spa but you are at the Sonoma square and don't need to move your car for days. All kinds of stores in the area and across the street is the Black Bear Dinner and a shopping center. If you want your bed maid up each day do it yourself. You will get extra sheets. If you want friends to come over for a glass of wine forget it not allowed. All in all we would go back. read more

This is the best kept secret in Sonoma ... though I don't expect it to stay a secret long. The units are brand new. And I mean brand spanking new. I am pretty sure we are the first people to ever use the oven. Now, you don't need a brand new oven for a frozen pizza, but hey, I will take it. The units are immaculate. A perfect mixture of modern and comfortable. I can't believe how big the units are and how much attention to detail went in to both the decor as well as the design. We are Sonoma locals and stayed here for four days when a pipe burst in our home and some emergency construction was needed. My wife and I recently enjoyed a trip to Sonoma and the broader Wine Country region of California over Christmas 2021. After doing a quick search, I came across a website for the Sonoma Bungalows. We had actually already booked another house through AirBnB, but after seeing pictures of the Sonoma Bungalows, we cancelled our existing reservation and rebooked Bungalow 5. The owners, Valerie and Mike were extremely easy to work with, answered all questions, and even proactively offered restaurant and hiking suggestions in both San Francisco and Sonoma. Based on these recommendations, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch in Sausalito and a memorable hike in Muir Woods prior to making the trip from San Francisco to Sonoma. Valerie really went out of her way to make recommendations based on both my wife and my interests. I could tell Valerie truly was invested that we enjoyed our time in California. Once we arrived to the Sonoma Bungalows, we could immediately tell we made the right decision staying here. Mike and Valerie have done an outstanding job designing and furnishing the bungalows to make you feel at home. When we entered our bungalow, we were greeted with festive holiday music playing through the Sonos sound system (we thoroughly enjoyed and took advantage of this feature). Our bungalow had every comfort of home, including an extremely comfortable king size bed, electric fireplace, gorgeous bathroom (with heated floors), and a full kitchen. A bottle of wine and chocolates were waiting for us as well, which just added to a warm welcome. The location of the Sonoma Bungalows couldn't have been better. You are right next to the Sonoma Square, which makes walking to all of the fabulous boutique shops and restaurants so easy. If you want an awesome dinner, check out Valley Bottle Shop. We stumbled upon this place our first evening and had an awesome meal and great wines. It was a treat not having to worry about driving and parking when we could just walk from our bungalow over to the square. In summation, the Sonoma Bungalows exceeded our expectations. We are so happy we found this wonderful place to stay, and can't recommend them enough! Both my wife and I are avid travelers, and stay at higher end hotels, such as the Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons and St. Regis. The Sonoma Bungalows rivaled all of these hotels, and have earned our business for all future trips to Wine Country (we are already planning another 2022 holiday trip). As a local,we are so happy that Sonoma Bungalows is an option for our out of town guests when our house is maxed out! We had the privilege of staying here for two nights while our house needed work. We were in a one bedroom that also included a full kitchen, dining area and sitting room. All those areas feel separate from the bedroom. The units are beautifully decorated and extremely thoughtful for guests needs. The shower is huge with a very large double sink and separate toilet area. Sonoma Bungalows is a class act located right in the middle of town. So many choices of restaurants and wine tasting - you'll park your car when you arrive and there it will sit till you leave town. We will have to look for an excuse to return for a "staycation". Thank you Mike! read more

Staying in this place was a true pleasure. We have tried the Bungalows on the Plaza as well as the off site property. Our recent trip was to stay at the Petite Sirah cottage. The location was 2.5 miles from the Plaza, so you need a car to get anywhere. The property is quiet, private and secure as you enter through a gate. The bedroom was large, comfy bed, and such comfortable linens and pillows. The outdoor fenced patio area has a small seating area and a 2 person hot tub, perfect for the chilly evenings. There is a full kitchen with some amenities, but you will need to buy all your kitchen condiments and food to cook. The extra welcome note and wine was very appreciated. The back area has a bbq, which, we didn't use, but if we stayed again we would try it out. The property sits adjacent to another larger home, but we never felt like the neighbors were an issue. Everything was super clean, TV was easy to use, a "fireplace" added ambience and some additional warmth as well. A couple of suggestions for the owners would be to have some plastic cups available for taking out onto the patio instead of all glass. Also, some of the rugs needed rug pads to keep them from sliding around on the hardwood flooring. We would definitely consider staying here in the future, but maybe closer to town this time. read more

This is our third time staying at Sonoma bungalows. Our second time in the Petite Sirah bungalow. I especially enjoy this one because of the hot tub and quiet, but my girlfriend enjoys the on site rentals for the heated floors and nice speakers to play music. This is definitely my favorite and go to when staying in Sonoma. The hosts are so accommodating and kind. We will definitely keep coming back, I'm already looking forward to my next trip. What a fantastic stay! The Bungalows are wonderful in every way. I rarely write reviews. I just have to share our experience with the Bungalows. First, extremely clean. We booked two bungalows for our family. Both were impeccably clean which is a hot button for me. Second, the furnishings, decor, sheets, expresso machine, flooring, design, air conditioning... all of the things that matter, were first class. I was writing down the make of the coffee machine...and the brand of the complimentary wine.. and the make of the blow dryer of all things! Everything was classy and in perfect condition. Third... great location. The Bungalows are within walking distance of lots of interesting and unique shops, restaurants, wine tasting rooms and more. Beautiful scenes no matter which way you look. It was near the fun but quiet and private. Lastly, the hosts are great. There, but not there. They were friendly, personable and professional in every way. I booked a stay here for a milestone birthday. I stayed at one of Sonoma Bungalow's offsite properties (Syrah House). The property is just beautiful. Clean, comfortable, and beautiful. The home is fully equipped and the highlight was the outdoor space, framed in flowers and with a hot tub ready to use. My guests and I had a great time and the home made it all the better. The staff at Sonoma Bungalows left us a note, a bottle of wine, and chocolates when we arrived; and they were responsive in all their communication leading up to and during our stay, in the best of ways. Fantastic 4 day stay in the 2 bedroom bungalow. Right in the middle of downtown and we were able to walk to groceries at Whole Foods, coffee, and dinner every day. Secure parking. Very very clean. Beautiful appointment to the entire place, including the fully stocked kitchen, sonos stereo setup, nest thermostat, and marble bathrooms with very large showers. Val (the owner and proprietor) had great communication before and during. The washer temporarily didn't work, she looked to fix it right away, and even complete and folded laundry for us! That's going the extra mile. We'll definitely be back. read more

Where do I start.......My girlfriend and I booked a bungalow at Sonoma Bungalows for Valentines Day weekend and were more than impressed by the excellent service from the second we got out of the car. Michael the owner is AMAZING. The place will more than exceed your expectations. Not only is Sonoma Bungalows right in the Center of downtown Sonoma, it is a definite beacon of light and a great escape from the daily stresses of work. We were able to walk to dinner, wine tastings, visit a California Mission and have dinner.....all in walking distance. We have been to Sonoma many times and this is by far the best trip ever. The owners have a broad knowledge of the wineries and a broad knowledge of the local scene. I will be booking again and will never stay anywhere else. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the very friendly Bunky. She just came out of our Bungalow where she turned the chill music and the fireplace on to make sure that we are as relaxed as can be. That was when we knew that our vacation was going to be a promising one. Bungalow 8 was extremely clean & comfortable. It had a large bedroom, large bathroom with heated floors, great living room and a fully stocked kitchen that had all the comforts of home. For our first dinner, Bunky helped us secure a reservation at the Girl & the Fig restaurant. The food was delicious and the wine was superb. We discovered the best tasting Syrah ever under the restaurant label. Thank you Bunky for a beautiful meal. Valerie was kind enough to recommend wineries and a place for lunch for the next day. She made reservations for several wineries. she also made a reservation for dinner at the Salt and Stone restaurant nestled among the vineyards. The food was fantastic. Thank you Valerie. We had a wonderful experience at the Sonoma Bungalows. Every staff member we encountered was delightful and eager to help. I Would definitely recommend this hotel to everybody. Thanks again for another amazing stay at the Sonoma Bungalows. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a bottle of chilled champagne, a red rose and a yummy Valentines treat. The suites and homes are beautifully decorated and so cozy. The kitchens are also fully stocked with pots, pans, basically anything you need to prepare a meal if you so desire. The fire pit is also a great spot to enjoy a glass of wine, very peaceful music playing. The location is ideal, literally right around the corner from the Sonoma square. You can walk to so many restaurants, tasting rooms and shops. We also scheduled in room massages through a local company called Massage Sonoma. Incredible! This review is incredibly overdue, but so warranted! I was lucky enough to stay in one of the bungalows shortly after they opened. The owners are so gracious, and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our time in Sonoma. They provided several suggestions for local wineries and restaurants, as well as great recommendations for our drive down the coast. Our bungalow was incredible - beautiful, spacious, clean and luxurious. They have everything you could possibly need to be comfortable. The kitchen and BBQ were great and allowed us to stay in when we wanted. The Sonoma Square is in walking distance making it perfect for a night out to dinner, and the Sonoma Market was just down the street to make sure you were stocked with food or sandwiches for a day at the wineries.
