Sonoma County Transit Authority continues to park their Buses, in a legally marked, Handicap Parking Space, on West Napa St., at Broadway. Not one SCTA bus that parks here has Handicap license plates or Handicap Placards. This agency covers the Handicap sign and puts up No Parking, SCTA bus only sign on A frame. I tried to file a America Disabilities Act complaint, but SCTA said the City of Sonoma allows them to park there. It is the SCTA Violating State Law, which the City of Sonoma nor SCTA can supersede, by covering the sign and putting up a no parking sign. read more

Some bus drivers just should not be driving these buses whatsoever especially when they're hitting that left turn by the only Costco in Rohnert Park they will literally try to race you and run you over!! And then have the audacity to tap their horn like if they weren't driving like that. Seriously someone needs to be on the bus with some of these routes to teach these fuckers how to be safe! Some days, you just have a horrible day watching buses go by. Such was the case for me today (September 16, 2023). While I was out filming trains (and busses), route 44 South pulled up, and the driver said that filming buses is "actually against federal law". However, I am not seeing any laws that say you can NOT film buses in public places. I am not sure what to do about this. I am an 18-year-old person who loves to film trains, elevators, buses, and more around the Bay area. I also have a YouTube channel (Elevators, Trains, And More), where I post videos of the like. According to some people on YouTube, photography is not a crime. Most bus drivers are cool, but there's this old guy who is rude towards men. I overheard him talking to some lady on the bus and he said that one time he told a bunch of guys to stop cursing because there were "women" on the bus. Okay so the same doesn't apply for women? You think just because I'm a man that I would want to hear other women cuss on the bus? If it's all men on the bus, you won't tell the people that are cursing to stop because there's no women on the bus? How does that logically make any sense? Seems like you hate men and cater to women. You should tell people not to cuss regardless of what gender is on the bus. We live in a time of equality old timer. Maybe it's time to retire. Adding my bad review to the already list of bad reviews for this inept ridiculously run public transportation line. The route 30 bus headed east never even showed up at the Montgomery Village stop at 6:24 in the evening. Just never even showed up!! I waited until 6:45, and still no sign of the bus...now i am homeless in Santa Rosa for the night singlehandedly thanks to Sonoma County Transit because I cant get home to Sonoma. Of course, no one is available at their service number, and there seems to be no recourse...F**k this bus service, honestly, if you are relying on them to get to work or to get home, you better make other plans! Hard to believe this transit company even runs. Must get enough government funding to buy gas. Is there a good reason why there are so few buses between Sonoma and its nearest neighbor Petaluma? Or why it doesn't go to those two locations on weekends? It would be nice to shop in Petaluma if I could get there on a Saturday or Sunday on my days off. While the service and drivers are A+, it is extremely difficult to be a casual rider of theirs, without a current schedule in your pocket. You just can't sit at a bus stop of theirs, and figure "there will be one an maybe an hour at worst". read more

Sonoma County Transit bus service is something to be desired. Today, Friday, November 25, 2011 is not a holiday schedule. Myself and two other people have been standing at stop 207 in Sebastopol since 5:20 PM and not a single bus has gone by. According to the route guide, an eastbound bus from Russian River to Santa Rosa was scheduled to stop at 5:57pm at the Sebastopol post office. It is now 6:53pm and not a single bus has come by. This is not the first time I've had to wait, wait and wait for a bus that never showed up. I have cross referenced the route guide posted in the stop as well as the online PDF. Both are identical. Sonoma County Transit is one of the worst bus systems I have ever used and it has just cost me a $30 cab fare to Santa Rosa. Don't Ride SCT - they are rarely on time, if they ever show at all! read more

Veterans and students ride free for all of 2015, as part of a pilot program to explore doing this indefinitely if a county sales tax hike gets approved in a few months. Just need your VA medical ID or student ID. If you're a vet that doesn't have VA coverage I think the county office up in the admin center in Santa Rosa issues some sort of vet ID card that will work read more

Booo, Somo County Transit more like slow county transit or silly county transit. I have patience waiting for city buses almost everywhere I go. I have not seen a worse bus since NCTD of north San Diego. Whoever runs this public transport agency has no respect towards tourists. I tried to wait for the bus to take me to a hotel a few miles away from Graton Casino and you know what I got nothing. For some reason this bus has something against highly populated areas too. Yes waiting for a bus near a wine tasting joint makes sense if you have to wait 120-190 minutes but near a Casino, town or city is just too preposterous. I, however, am glad that they rescued a hitchhiker who was lost in whine country. After all it is their job. I think you should do it like everyone else and drive. read more

Wont go into to too much detail but in a nutshell their customer service absolutely, positively, horrendously sucks!!! You will get a live person at first ( That doesn't give a rats ass either! Only to be connected to an answering machine!! When you call back,you will get the same uncaring person that still doesn't give a rats Ass and by the way--- She will not know anything about anything you ask!! Sounds like a super easy job sitting at a desk all day and not know what to tell people when they call other than to push a button to connect you to an answering machine lol.... Never used the system when I lived in Sonoma Valley since it was a bit more sporadic. A new schedule aligned with GGT's commuter line inspired me to try. Friendly riders, helpful drivers. The TO trip was flawless. The RETURN trip was riddled with late bus issues and a less informative driver. Extra star for the first driver and station hub staff's responsiveness. With the new SMART train they have moved the schedule around which is understandable so busses hit stops as the train does. But the problem is, since the chnage, the 54 has never made the 5:17 train once since it was added. Today I thought I'd catch an earlier 44 and catch the train, so a 1:30 hour bus ride would be just under and hour. Nope the 44 was over 20 min late and I missed the train. This is getting silly. I take this bus because I literally have NO choice. Last Monday night, the 7th of February, I was waiting for the last northbound bus of the day, by the Petaluma JC. The bus was supposed to go by there at 915pm. As of 1056pm, it never came. First thing the next morning I sent them a message through their website. They still haven't gotten back to me. read more

The bus service in and of itself is fine. The office staff is horrible! I purchased a bus pass online and they never sent it! They misled me on the phone to me on two occasions saying it had been sent and since it was not returned they would not refund my money nor would they actually issue me the bus pass. Then I got sent to some random email. I will never order a bus pass from them online again and if you want to keep your money, I suggest you do the same!! Horrible customer service!!! read more

Worst transit system ever. The bus is literally never on time. It takes drivers about 15 minutes to load a wheelchair passenger. The drivers never warn about sudden detours. I always feel ripped off that they charge 1.25 each way for such a low level of service. I am from a town of the same approximate size and population, and the bus system is fantastic. I wonder why Sonoma county even bothers having a bus system, since they obviously don't care about anyone getting to their destination on time. read more

Route 55 from the Sonoma County Airport to the SMART train is unreliable. You might as well walk or get a Lyft. Don't bother with taxis; they don't want to take you the 1.5 miles to the station, and may well charge you $10 for the disservice. read more

I use SC transit 3-4 times a week in Rohnert Park and I also go to Santa Rosa. I am a impressed with Michael, Yvonne and Sam. I have had a few drivers whom I am not friendly with because they are not friendly. One Hispanic driver is only friendly with Hispanic travelers, not so much with others. In all, the drivers are professional and apologetic when late. The trips to Santa Rosa requires my patience with other riders and very crowded. Yvonne is hands down the most top notch of routes to Santa Rosa. On Oct 30 I rode either 44 or 48 from Santa Rosa to Rohnert Park and he was extremely noisy with a whistle at every stop. That ride was the noisiest I have experienced and riders where loud. I will try not to ride his route. I like SC transit because in 2 years it has been 95% positive experience. I catch the bus earlier than needed to allow for breakdowns and lateness. Only one driver in all that time was rude and cam early enough I missed the bus in RP. I do find the drivers taking but 5 minutes to load wheelchairs. Allow for that, catch the bus earlier so you don't complain, it is life and disabled (as I am) deserve good service. read more

Sonoma County is only going to get bigger and a better more timely transit system needs to happen. All i can say is Sonoma County transit you suck! The woman from route 60 north, had the audacity to yell and humiliate me and two other passengers in front of the whole bus. And her reasoning was because we "cheated the bus system of its money". Which didn't seem right because we had payed 10 dollars for one way and the our driver before had let us know we could get a free ride back, even though we were told this we still payed 3 dollars for the three of us to Windsor. And yet she felt as if she could cause a scene and humiliate us. We eventually left he bus and decided we would rather find a new way home instead of taking the Sonoma county transit bus with the very rude driver. And not to mention in the end we ended up paying 13 dollars for a one way ride. We are deeply disappointed and appalled by this experience. We hope nothing like this ever happens again. read more

I really want to like this bus system. I am a student with no car, and I am all about saving the planet, but this transit system makes it really hard. They are late constantly, an average of 15 minutes. I have been pretty forgiving up to this point, but today I was standing at a bus stop waiting, as the bus driver made eye contact with me as he passed me and did not stop. What kind of a bus system is this?! What am I suppose to do? And before anyone asks yes, I got to the bus stop early, the right bus stop, and I am sure that the bus that passed me was the right bus, and I was in sight, right next to the bus stop sign, and no, this is not my first time riding this system, and I am aware how it works. I even waved! I am still in shock, I saw him acknowledge me and just keep driving. What kind of a business is run like this? I had no other way to get to my class, so I missed it.
