Lived in Santa Rosa for over 20 years. If there's one thing you can rely on with Santa Rosa City Bus, is that they will always by late, and skip stops you are waiting at. Most drivers are recovering addicts/alcoholics, still using, even while driving. Even when leaving the Transit Mall on time, the drivers still make a point of arriving late. Maybe they're not paid enough to care. As I write this review, I've been waiting for almost an hour for a bus, that should of arrived 30 minutes ago. The City Bus needs more than new busses, they need new driver's who care enough to be on time. Our tax payer dollars, going to waste on a failed public transit system. read more

Margot, today # 1 City bus # 24116 is an excellent driver. we had an Azzhole put on his breaks suddenly. people were cutting off others. Margot caught that action right away, and put on her breaks in a mild form people we're not jolted around. Margot is a very Safe, courteous safe , patient driver. everyone look out for a young, long dark haired driver. read more

The amt of routes in my opinion technically makeup for the drivers, whom some are fantastic but some drivers will not see an individual 5 seconds away from the door of the bus n will leave earlier than scheduled which throws ppl who have jobs off. I live in the middle of town and I still don't have easy access to public transportation. I'm in corner of pacific srjc area and there are no busses there. I have to walk miles to the main stop or to 4 st to catch a bus. I wish it was like the big cities, a bus for every street since I'm also close to college. also the busses are dirty and full of homeless people so be aware. read more

I recently started riding the city bus a few days a week, one way. Prior to that I was commuting to SF on GGT. Comparatively speaking the SR City Bus is great. Very clean newer buses, on time, very courteous drivers and cost effective. The helpful staff at the Transit Mall are awesome. I've lived in SR many years and really never knew what a great resource SR City bus was. Were lucky to have such a great service. read more

The bus drivers are rude impatient drivers. I don't get the hiring process for them knowing you will be working with the public you'd think they'd hire more courteous employees. They seemed bothered when they have a passenger with a wheelchair. It sickens me why work in public service if you don't like people?!!! I wish for a good turn around in employment for theses drivers maybe they come in too burned out but I don't deserve to be treated as a second class citizen just because I take the bus. read more

Apparently someone on the City Council read this or was getting a lot of similar complaints or something, as last month Citybus rolled out a $4 24 hour pass that you can simply purchase on any bus. It doesn't really address the problem that certain round trips that used to cost $1.25 cost at least $3 now, but it's a small improvement over $1.50 a ride if you have to make multiple trips all throughout the day. read more

Looking to go to Howarth Park for movie night with the kids Friday night. I got some amazing above and beyond service from driver number 117 on the bus number 8.As I am Not too familiar with the system he made a call to the four which then connected me to the 8and I made movie night it was the last buses running that night and all three drivers were amazing accommodating and made our experience a true pleasure contrary to what people say about the bus system these guys really try and they made our night and they deserve their kudos. My car died in a loud grotesque manner. Needed to get to work. Took the bus, saved money, got where I needed to go... Couldn't be happier... Well, if the bus dropped me off at my doorstep and picked me whenever I needed it to, that would be cool... WAIT! Maybe I am on to something... A service where you can call a vehicle to come pick you up and take you where you need to go... Maybe charge by the mile... Buses would be to cumbersome, so maybe I could use cars... something bright, like yellow... yeah, bright yellow cars... Hmmm sounds like a million dollar idea to me... read more

On time performance is weak! Always 10-15minutes behind schedule. Or maybe I'm not giving them enough credit, and they're just REALLY early? Drivers are typically indifferent, not what you'd expect in such a small area. SF Muni drivers have better personal skills with regular riders than anything I have experienced in Santa Rosa. Wish City Bus was more reliable. Two stars because their buses are clean. read more

Hey I have an idea, be on time, always 15 min late... Just in time for me to miss the number 2 bus

So, I buy a city bus pass, the next day realize that my daughter will be taking the county bus and ask to return the non-used pass. We don't allow returns. What? I just bought it yesterday and its never been used. The community that uses the bus is not rich, and it seems the city bus administration could care less. Once they have your money, tough luck. No wonder they get bad reviews, that attitude most likely affects everything they do and everyone they hire. read more

I tried the bus again the drivers stopped the bus I was able to take it where I was going and back. Maybe the companies not that bad. Maybe if I go back to Santa Rosa someday I might try the bus again. read more

today December 14th 2017 at 7:47 a.m. Bus Route 4 made me feel very unsecured and very unsafe in my wheelchair the way he locked it.

Santa Rosa City Bus Rocks. They do a really good job and are friendly.

It might just be physically impossible or against some universal law for some of these buses to actually arrive on time. I don't understand how a bus can be late on the first few stops of the day nor do I understand how these people manage to keep their jobs. If you were 20 minutes late to work and 20 minutes late coming back to lunch every other day, you'd probably be fired by now. That's not the case for bus drivers in Santa Rosa, though! If you like being late, completely ignoring certain bus stops and having someone on the phone willing to make excuses for you, this might just be your dream job. read more
