Father and son business and I came to them to have some jewel appliqué embellished jeans hemmed because I'm a petite 5'1 girly and it's hard to find jeans that fit! I called them on Easter weekend and they were about to close shop early for the holiday weekend but I caught them right before closing and they agreed to stay open just long enough for me to get there and drop off the jeans. I arrived and Mr. Imparali (their dad) stayed after just to measure my hem and then the tune around time was quick! Just a few days later we picked up the jeans and they even expedited it for us. When I arrived to pick up my dress, alterations were partially completed (the zipper area was…read moreloosened and now fit, but the straps were not touched). They asked me to leave the dress to finish, but I needed to get it to the steaming place. I gave them an hour to complete it as that was as long as the dry cleaners was open to steam it. I put the dress on 30 minutes before my pre ceremony pictures to find the second set of alterations were still not correct and the dress was too loose. 15 minutes later, the dress ripped at the zipper that was fixed at Amy's alterations. This had to be fixed on the spot with a home hem gun as the wedding has to go on. I later had to be cut out of the dress since it was no longer together by a zipper. I get back from a honeymoon and call to find out what I need to do for a partial refund and am told I needed to call immediately when this happened to tell them and they could have came to me to fix it (keep in mind this was 15 minutes before pictures and 5 hours away from Amy). When I explained this, he said I should have called anyway ( because I was thinking to call the place minutes before getting married). He proceeded to tell me that I did not pick up the dress the day I did because he would have been working, that i probably didn't even get the dress altered at Amy's because they make sure weddings and specials events are done right, and the person who zipped me up at the event messed up the zipper. Keep in mind he did not even ask my name to check for the order because "they don't keep records passed two weeks". I will never go back because the work was not done right, expensive, and was not cared for as a customer.

I replied, "Next week? Oh, no thank you." Instead of simply ending the call professionally, the employee snapped, "You didn't even tell me what you needed," and then hung up on me. I called back and said, "If you had asked, I would have been able to tell you." Her response was, "Well then, what do you need?" At that point, I told her, "You know what? I don't even need this. Thanks." I've never experienced customer service like this. Whether you're a small business or a large one, treating potential customers with impatience, attitude, and hanging up on them is completely unacceptable. If you're too busy to take on new work, there are professional ways to communicate that. Respect costs nothing. This review is long overdue but this tailor literally saved my banquet dress for my convention back…read morein August. I showed up with my dress needing new nude lining in the cleavage area and the fit was weird. I ordered it online and like an idiot I tried to fix it myself. Had no time to fix it before heading to Houston for the convention and I was panicking. Mr. Chinh out of the kindness of his heart chose to help me last minute and fixed my dress. He kept adjusting it until it was perfect. While I was waiting I observed his interactions with other customers and he has the most integrity I've seen in a tailor. He educated a young man on the proper measurements for his suit and explained how what he was requesting would be too costly for him and may not even look good. He could've easily charged him an exorbitant price and done what was requested but instead he was honest with the young man and gave him other options and a place to buy better fitting suits. Other customers I spoke with in the sitting area sang his praises as well. And the price he charged me was way less than I expected or that I've ever paid for simple alterations in Dallas. When I arrived on Tuesday, he said it wasn't ready and asked me to wait another hour, so I did. The second issue was the price. When I dropped off the item on Thursday, we agreed on $30. He didn't write the price on the invoice, so I wrote "$30" on it myself to avoid any confusion. When I came to pick it up, he told me the price was $40. I showed him the invoice and reminded him that we had agreed on $30, but he still argued that I should pay $40. Reluctantly, he agreed to $30. Finally, when it was time to pay, he entered $33 into the credit card machine instead of $30. It may have been a credit card surcharge, but he never mentioned or explained it beforehand. He simply charged an extra $3 without telling me why. Between the missed pickup time, the disagreement over the agreed price, and the unexplained extra charge, I won't be returning.
