When I arrived to pick up my dress, alterations were partially completed (the zipper area was loosened and now fit, but the straps were not touched). They asked me to leave the dress to finish, but I needed to get it to the steaming place. I gave them an hour to complete it as that was as long as the dry cleaners was open to steam it. I put the dress on 30 minutes before my pre ceremony pictures to find the second set of alterations were still not correct and the dress was too loose. 15 minutes later, the dress ripped at the zipper that was fixed at Amy's alterations. This had to be fixed on the spot with a home hem gun as the wedding has to go on. I later had to be cut out of the dress since it was no longer together by a zipper. I get back from a honeymoon and call to find out what I need to do for a partial refund and am told I needed to call immediately when this happened to tell them and they could have came to me to fix it (keep in mind this was 15 minutes before pictures and 5 hours away from Amy). When I explained this, he said I should have called anyway ( because I was thinking to call the place minutes before getting married). He proceeded to tell me that I did not pick up the dress the day I did because he would have been working, that i probably didn't even get the dress altered at Amy's because they make sure weddings and specials events are done right, and the person who zipped me up at the event messed up the zipper. Keep in mind he did not even ask my name to check for the order because "they don't keep records passed two weeks". I will never go back because the work was not done right, expensive, and was not cared for as a customer. read more

Alteration was fine but charged $55 to simply hem a basic dress. A simple straight hem to the bottom, took about 1 inch off. Nothing complicated. Will not return. read more

I dropped off 5 pairs of pants today and they were super quick with pinning and measuring. I was in and out in 15 minutes for the fittings. For those who haven't had alternations, I'd suggest wearing socks and bringing the shoes you'll be wearing. You'll be changing into your clothes (they have private dressing rooms) and it helps to have the shoes you normally wear or wish to wear with said pants. The pricing is fair but based on the reviews I'm expecting good work and asked for a couple items to be rushed overnight. I'll update this review after I pick up the items. read more

I brought in 3 pairs of pants to get hemmed and I regret the decision. The hem line looks so cheap and it is definitely not cheap here! $20-30/ pants. If you care about your clothes I would take it elsewhere as they don't follow the original hem of the pants or take time in the work. You can tell they just folded it up a sewed it ... the hem line shouldn't be 2 inches thick ... complete waste. read more

With that being said, I am quite critical of alterations and expect a certain standard. Amy transformed 2 looks for me, I ordered these outfits for my 30th. Both were a unique and delicate material and required quite a bit of work. I dropped by the store and told Any the timeline, which was roughly 4 days before I was leaving, Amy confidently took on the timeline challenge. She completed both of them efficiently and carefully. I was so impressed with the alterations. She made a suggestion to bring in the waist a bit more so the dress would be more flattering and she was spot on. Overall friendly and quick. They give you a discount if you pay with Venmo or zelle (and other payment apps I'm not familiar with) and they did a decent job on my bridesmaids dress. My husband needed to have a buttonhole created in a custom 3 layered driving fire suit for an upcoming race. Funny i wrote a review of Amy's tailors and its gone......hmmm. So I will rewrite it. Get prepared after a visit or 2 to be ran after in the parking lot telling you they didn't charge you enough and you owe $2 or $3 dollars. At times they will do this when you go to pick up your items even though its pay up front. Consequently, I have never in my life been able to buy any article of clothing that truly fits and so have sampled the work of dozens of alterations places. I discovered Amy years ago when she was still in Sugar Land. Through the years she has almost miraculously made whatever I bring her fit beautifully! Sure, she can copy any style perfectly, whether from a garment or a picture of a garment. She can also create a style that is merely described. I stumbled upon Amy's Tailors after the tailor place I wanted to go to wasnt available. So I waited until literally three weeks before my wedding to get my size 10 dress to fit my size 4 frame. I was definitely pleased with the work done by Amy. She was very good with getting everything done. She promised me to get it complete in about a week however it ended up taking two weeks. Either way the dress fit perfectly. For my wedding dress I was charged $190 to take in the sides, $60 to add a belt (the belt was purchased on Etsy), $40 to add a bushaling (which I think was wayyyyyyyy too much since it is just a string - however it was A DEFINITE MUST! if you dont have one get one!) and $5 to resew a button that was loose and to move a button from the bottom of the dress to the top. If you pay via credit card you will be charged an additional 5% for the credit card fee businesses get charged, however if you pay cash it will be just the subtotal plus the tax. I am indignant about the price especially since I felt like I was overcharged but I do think the work done was very good. Lastly, I purchased a second hand dress so i wanted them to steam it before the wedding, Amy said she couldnt do that but I could bring it to a place that did do it. I remember when I was looking for a place to get by alterations done I called Davids Bridal and they warned that although they didnt alter dresses that were not purchased there that the true professional alterations places would steam dresses.
