I took my daughter to get our nails done, which is a rare occasion. The lady was a good time, but she absolutely rushed mine because she had an appointment coming in. I've been here more than once now. It's bad. The first visit was a full acrylic set with French tips. I wear mine square. I type alot. NONE of them were square. Less than a week later, one of my nails was cracking. The acrylic. So I go back. Showed them the Crack. They fixed it, but then I had them change the color. I pay. I go home. It's when I get there that I realize the free edge of almost all of my nails are sticky. As I was staring at my sticky Crack repair, I notice for the first time that, not only is there twice as much acrylic on it as any other nail, but it was lopsided! It's a pinky ffs! Always great nail service. I get builder gel and they do a great job. Without an appointment, there can be a wait.

Haven't been here in about 4-5 years but received a gift card to them and decided to give another try. Needless to say, I see why I haven't given them my business in 4-5 years. The urgency to finish with customers as fast as possible and not take the time for quality is so shameful. And you can't say anything to them without them getting defensive or start shouting amongst themselves to each other in a foreign language which leaves you sitting there feeling awkward and uncomfortable. The cleanliness of this salon has significantly decreased over the years as well. Dust so thick on many surfaces, nail clippings scattered entirely over the whole floor, grime on the sinks and floors, broken appliances, and polish covered surfaces everywhere, chipped furniture. The list goes on and on. I didn't see a single person washing their hands in between customers nor disinfecting tools and surfaces. I left in complete shock of my experience and a lot of worry for how my skin & nails will react after this. I just needed to use the gift card asap but will entirely be taking my business elsewhere forever now. Please STAY AWAY from this salon if you want a clean, relaxing, and QUALITY service. read more

I was in the area never had been in was the closest nail salons but the worst reviews, I decided ahh I'll give them a try anyway I seen their full set was 35 and I just wanted basic French tip with oval shap and this is what I got they are more pointy not oval, my skin is scabby in places were she grinded it, some of my nails are lopsided and look crappy, and she charged me 50!! when I asked why the sign said 35 then she went to talking about some excuse but I just paid and left I wasn't about to argue I would never go back and never recommend to anyone else ever! definitely the past reviews are completely correct that's why they have such a bad rating, if your like me and try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and try them anyway save your money plus they charge more than their signs! read more

If you're looking for a clean salon, this is not it! There is literally an inch of dust everywhere. That being said, they skimp on most everything and charge full prices. Last time I was there a couple weeks ago, I felt as if I was on a conveyor belt. While getting my nails done, the salon owner was arguing with what was obviously the landlord about paying the electric bill. Nail salon owner kept saying she paid the electric bill, but landlord was not happy. To top off my visit, when I checked out she charged me an extra $5 for the same service I've had in the past. Wish I would have read reviews prior to wasting my money - Prob the worst, quickest pedicure I've ever had. I felt like the girl who did it didn't want to be there, I was an inconvenience to her.. I wasn't offered different types of pedicures- the menu says there are a few different kinds, and I would have paid for the most expensive one had it been offered. She barely touched my feet for the massage which lasted all of 2 mins- the nails look fine, but I honestly didn't even need a pedicure, I just needed to relax and have a good massage, but then was charged for a deluxe pedicure. Not sure what was deluxe about it but it wasn't even worth the price of the lowest one. New to the area was looking for my place- this isn't it- waste of money and unfriendly staff. I have had issues in the past with them not filling my acrylic nails properly and needing to get them done sooner than is probably necessary. I have had them chip and break quickly as well. I have overlooked that because most of the time they are great. They are nice people too. You can usually walk right in and get taken care of pretty quickly. But this Friday I made an appt at 2:30pm for Saturday with Nancy. I was in for my appt at 2:28 and I'm told Nancy is gone. Left at 1pm for Chicago. Then I'm told that I'll just go with the next nail tech, that they aren't taking anyone else for the rest of the day. They are closing by 3pm, even though there are 3 nail techs in there. They don't close until 7:30pm on Saturdays. Not happy. I HAD AN APPT. A good business does not turn away an appt. No call or anything to cancel with me. Went here due to convenient location and there was no wait. I get the shellac nails. The light that you slide your hand under was soooo grimy and dirty that my fingertips could feel the crud build up. The nail tech left residue on my skin. The cuticle clippers were wiped off but not soaked before placed back into the drawer. My nails usually last 2-3 weeks and these started chipping off after 5 days. There's also a lot of talking between employees like you're not even there. It literally took half the the time another salon would take and it showed. I hate to give a 1 star but not only would I not go back to this salon, but I just didn't get my $45 worth. Very nice staff when you first walk in but that's about it. read more

I did not have a pleasant experience. I showed a picture and got no where even near it. I wish they would've told me they couldn't do it and I would've easily picked something else. I paid $63 total for regular polish on acrylics.. ridiculous. Also paid another $15 somewhere else to repaint them. I was there for a very long time as Well and felt like I was being annoying by not liking the crap job. My nails are pretty cut up and look disgusting. Even though the nails were cheap , the work is absolutely horrible. First of all , when prepping my nails she did not cut down my actual nail or have my wash my hands or anything . She just started putting tips on . She had acrylic all over my fingers , I had to go home and peel it off. The shape is all over the place , none of the nails are the same shape. This is place did the worst acrylic nails ive had done! Every single nail was FULL of air bubbles! It was ONLY 2 days after I got them done that they were peeling on the sides & the bottom had already grew past the cuticles! This isn't supposed to happen until a cpl wks pass; fill-in time. They looked like it was time for a fill-in after a few days! It's only been 8 days & 2 of them have fallen off! I work in retail, no water or anything that would cause that much damage! In my opinion, for as much as they charge, the service provided was TERRIBLE! Poorly done! I mean, they also acted rushed w/ one other client. one person started, then another came & tagged in then... he came back & finished! This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I am in tears while writing this. I needed a gel removal and French manicure. The first woman tried to scrape off my old manicure before filing or soaking the nails at all, causing my nails to become shredded. She then left me at her table for 20 minutes doing nothing before a man came and brought me to his table. He ridiculed me for the old manicure I had on, continuing to scrape away at my nails without soaking or filing away the old manicure. His nails were too long and he scratched me at least a dozen times. He asked if he hurt me while I winced, I said yes. I said usually when I get shellac taken off, they file and soak them before scraping away at the old polish. He finally did that and was incredibly rough with me. I winced again in pain out of reflex. Finally he got all the polish off, cut my nails significantly shorter than I asked (after breaking several of them). He used the electric buffer to get the last of the old color off. I jerked my hand as he pressed WAY too hard with the electric buffer. When I did that he VISIBLY lost his temper with me, chucking the buffer out of his hands and scooting away from the table. I APOLOGIZED for infuriating him so much when he HURT ME. He said nothing. He began the clear polish for the French manicure. You could see how torn up my nails were under the clear polish, so I asked if I could have a pale pink under to cover the shredded nails. He rolled his eyes and said he didn't have that color and said "just do a color then and don't do the white tips if you don't want a French manicure." He gave me my color options and I chose the exact pale pink I'd want under a French manicure, but I didn't dare say or request anything else because of how badly I just wanted to get out of there. He did a horrific job painting (pictured), leaving color on sides of my nails, leaving some parts unpainted altogether, and doing a completely uneven paint job. There are still pieces of the cotton balls sealed onto my nails now. When they were done drying he went back over and filed my nails again, being way too rough with me. He left my hands soaked in acetone and said "you're done," and walked right to the register. No lotion, no removal of the acetone, nothing. Not even a hand towel to dry my soaked hands. I am furious I had to give them even a dime of my money. All the while there was a child of one of the workers shrieking and running around the store. I will never come back here. I hope they go out of business. I could not believe how rude, rough, and condescending this man was, how clueless they were, and how unprofessional the whole place was. ALSO-- their Facebook page has 14 five star reviews from literally ALL made up accounts. All the reviewers have 0 or only a couple friends, and the friends happen to be the other reviewers and the store workers!!!! They aren't even smart about being con people. They're all made up names, with generic stock photo internet profile pictures of pretty girls, and all the comments say pretty much the same thing. Absolutely appalling. Not sure how these people stay in business. Hope they have a change of heart and find a different line of work. read more

I wanted to do something nice for my wife and called Sophia Nail Salon to ask about a pedicure and manicure for my wife: the woman on the phone suggested their pedicure special for 40 dollars which included a foot scrub, paraffin wax treatment, cuticle care and polish of her choice. I agreed to this and made a 2:30 appointment. We arrived at 2:30, signed in with wife's name and under treatment wrote 'special' and the time we arrived. I was told she would be finished in 45 minutes and she was taken to a pedicure station. I returned to the scene of the crime 45 minutes later and was told by the owner when I arrived that my wife did not get the special because we did not specifically say special upon our arrival. I explained the we had made an appointment for the pedicure special at her urging, I showed them the sign in sheet with my wife's name and the word 'special' under treatment. She told me it did not matter and then told me it was my fault that my wife did not get the special. At that point I provided direct and specific feedback to her, checking her offensive behavior toward me and insisting in the future that she provide service that is ordered if we were to return. She actually agreed to this, acknowledging the error, which is why she got a star...otherwise no stars. I found her attitude abusive and intimidating toward me, trying to be the first to strike instead of apologizing for a misunderstanding. Save yourself some misery and go someplace else. read more

Just got pedicures at this place and fell in love. My mom, sister, and I like to get pedicures when my sister and I are both in town visiting, and we have been to quite a few places around the area. This is among the lowest price we have paid, and it was by far the best pampering we have received! Soaks, scrubs, massage, hot towels, lotion, you name it. Terrible experience. My daughter had her Grandma take her for a special evening together in preparation for prom. My mom was texting me while they were there about the employee's kids running around shrieking and unmanaged. My daughter paid for French tips, but received majority white nails with little natural color. They look hideous. So now grandma has a headache from screaming children and my daughter is upset she spent her hard earned money she saved to get her nails done for prom. Thankfully, her nails won't define her prom experience, but it's unfortunate this place considered their services acceptable. No one wants to spend nearly 2 hours in a room with screaming children and end with a terrible outcome for the service they saved to pay for. To top it off, one of the employee's children grabbed my daughter's butt, with zero concern from any employee in the establishment. She is 16 years old and doesn't deserve to be fondled in a place she felt was a safe space. Disgusting! read more

This salon is one I would never visit again! First I was told I had to have a new set, so I reluctantly agreed to. Was told my nail were too old! My nails!!! I told the girl I like my nail long and oval. The first set of tips she cut extremely short and I told her they were Way too short so she was not happy and said there would be a little higher price for longer nails! So she immediately moved to my pedicure. Pedicure was okay until she got to the bottom of my feet! I told her I was probably the most ticklish person ever. She grabbed my foot and started using this big medal thing and I was almost on the roof. Her comment was what the matter! Pedicure was ok not as good as I usually get. Soaked off first tips added second set. So now they are Very long! Maybe 1 inch long. So, no matter what I said (sigh) I ended up with nails that were very long and instead of oval very pointed. Yes, pointed! The price that was supposed to be 28 for the pedicure and 28 for a full set plus a LITTLE extra for longer nails was $105.00. Not extremely clean shop. My nails have been extremely sore to the touch for two days and one that was cut too short is very uncomfortable. read more

The lady told me that she would do my finger nails first so I sat down and was ready, when I sat down another customer came in (must have been a regular) and she told me to get up and she would do mine later. After I finally got my shellac put on I went home and instantly one chipped. The following day the polish on one nail completely peeled off in one piece. Obviously it wasn't applied correctly.
