Wow! I came in to Sophie's with a wedding dress emergency, 48 hours before my wedding and needing a new dress. I was not an easy client (++stressed, anxious, indecisive), but Marlene was a superstar. She was incredibly patient with me and so kind and supportive. She went way above and beyond to help me. Their seamstress Chau was incredibly accurate in her alteration and had the dress back to me the same day. An amazing crew at Sophie's! Sophie's saves the wedding day! Incredible! I was wondering about experiences others have had after committing to the purchase of gowns? My cousin found her wedding gown at the London location and her dress was ordered on Aug 17/24. She was told that her dress would be in by Jan/25. Then my cousin received a phone call stating that due to the beading, it would be delayed until May. The wedding is in Aug 2025. My cousin's dress may have minimal sequins and is an a-line, empire waist with lace that covers the upper bodice with a few lace appliques. After fully reading the invoice policy, it states that no verbal agreements will be honoured. And the invoice policy states that they recommend placing the order at least 6 mths in advance. And yet the order was made almost a year before the date needed, and we still have no actual date that the dress will be ready for pickup. We visited the salon to get answers as the reason for the delay doesn't add up, and the change in delivery was initiated verbally by phone. A consultant stated that alterations only take two weeks. We asked to be contacted with updates about the delivery and again a week later, they initiated contact by phone in the middle of the day while my cousin was at work. She couldn't answer. This was about two weeks ago, and still no one has reached out with any information in accordance with their invoice policy to update us in writing. The reason why I'm invested is because I have helped pay for the majority of the dress. When I called today I was told that the delay is due to the manufacturer changing where their warehouses are. So again their info changes about the delay. Has anyone else had issues with Sophie's of London over promising and under delivering? read more

We were in Sophie's last week and ended up having a lovely time. We were shopping for Bridesmaid dresses and my 2nd bridal dress. We were serviced by Vula and we were all totally charmed haha. She's a delightful lady whos been working in the industry for 50+ years. She reminds me very much of my Eastern European Grandma, and some may not understand her approach but I assure you that if you just sit back and relax... you'll find yourself giggling and smiling the entire time. She's a CHARACTER, but she's also providing a genuinely unique EXPERIENCE that will have you giggling years into the future when you're looking back on all this! We didn't have a huge budget for my second dress and Vula just winked and said "Not to worry, I take good care of you". Due to COVID, they won't let you browse dresses unattended, they prefer to bring options to you - which we totally respect! They're taking precaution seriously and I can honestly tell you that many stores are not as compliant. In the end, we found all the dresses we needed and left with a giant smile because we came in under budget and with beautifully sophisticated gowns. I will forever remember Vula. I'm grateful for her time and glad I surrendered to her expertise because it led to such a timeless wedding dress. Each bridesmaid left happy and they're going to make special arrangements with the girls who live near Toronto by shipping to a location closer for them to pick up. Amazing! I am a plus size bride who was very nervous to go dress shopping. My mom brought me to Sophie's just for fun. Upon entering we were greeted immediately by Voula who was extremely friendly and eager to help us look. I showed Voula one inspo pic of the dresses I liked and she immediately knew exactly what to show me. The very first dress she showed me is exactly what I had pictured myself in and when I tried it on I couldn't have been happier- it was exactly as how I envisioned myself. We of course tried on different styles but we kept getting pulled back to the first dress. Voula was very comfortable to be myself around and constantly made sure I felt beautiful and liked what I was in. She made sure to tell me that it was MY day so I had to feel great in whatever I was in. She was not pushy at all when it came to accessories, etc she just wanted to make sure I felt good and had a great experience. Voula also made sure to stay within the budget we gave her which helped ease my mind as we looked around. I ended up buying the first dress she put on me, as well as a gorgeous veil that went perfectly with the dress (after trying on many different veils with no hesitation from Voula). I had a very great experience at this salon and would not hesitate to go back. Voula even went above and beyond by taking pictures of me with my mom once I said yes to the dress! I went to Sophie's with my mom to pick out her mother of the bride dress for my upcoming wedding and I tried to go in with an open mind following a poor experience I had in the past. When we arrived there was no one else in the store other than us and the employees but they were still hesitant to assist us because we didn't have an appointment. This kind of confused me because there was literally no one else there. They were wonderful in terms of making sure dresses were clipped properly to show proper fit and the pedestal area had great lighting to see the true colour and detailing on the gowns. Overall the vibe wasn't as "fun" as other stores and the saleswoman seemed incredibly pushy and kept telling my mom she had to order then (June) to get it in time for the wedding (October). The dress was available in July. Currently my mother is waiting for the bustier she ordered to come in which they keep saying will be "any day now". We think they forgot to order it for her because my bustier from another bridal shop arrived in a week and a half. Needless to say I'm glad I purchased my gown elsewhere and my bridesmaids dresses too. read more

I have never been so humiliated in my life while shopping..... Mortified! I have never been so caught off guard or spoken to so rudely by someone in a store before. I was shopping with my best friend for her bridal gown. When we started the appointment, she was not allowed to select any dresses off of the racks. They were brought to her. Then her younger sister proceeded to help her in the dressing room as the lady asked her to. She was getting discouraged. I asked our assistant if I could show her 1 dress that I had seen upon entering for the appointment. She asked for me to follow her and show her the dress. I was then screamed at by the store manager to "get out of there! You must have someone that works here with you". I was SHOCKED! I told her she just literally on the other side of the rack. She then argued with me/yelled at me from across the store, "I don't see her, so obviously she isn't with you, now get out of there!" I was beyond belief at this point! My friend's mother heard the whole thing from across the store. I sat down like a child that had just been scorned. Not even 30 seconds later, the lady that was helping us had returned.....from being at that rack. She acted as if nothing had happened. My god! The poor people that work with this woman! They are probably bullied everyday and fearful of her! Hands down the worst experience I have ever had in a store! Sophie's takes the win. I can't fully express how fantastic my experience was at Sophie's Gown Shoppe in London on Nov 21/2021! After a miserable experience at another bridal salon, I had little hope of finding my perfect dress for my wedding. I was pleasantly surprised at how easily I picked a dress this day and how incredible everyone at this store was. My consultant Marlene listened to every detail I wanted in a gown. She made my mom feel as important as me during the appointment which made the day filled with love! I tried on less than 10 gowns each of them being beautiful. I could have picked any of them and would have been thrilled with my choice. Being from out of town, I was concerned about these unprecedented times with how the appointment would go. The entire staff worked together to be sure every dress was properly sanitized and steamed between uses. Every room and surface was clear, they made sure the mandatory mask rule was being followed all whilst providing a comfortable atmosphere and still being attentive! Two bridesmaid dresses were stolen the night/morning of the event and Sophie's Gown Shop came to the rescue. They were able to find us two dresses and tailor them in time for the wedding in the colours the bride wanted. Talk about being made to feel like a real princess bride! I had an appointment with Voula at Sophie's last week and she was wonderful with me. She made me feel comfortable and beautiful in the gowns I tried on and helped me find the perfect wedding dress for my style of wedding. I read the reviews before going here and almost didn't because of the two terrible reviews, but the other dress store I visited prior to Sophie's was loud, crowded and overwhelming. At Sophie's they listened to what I wanted and stayed in my price range. I felt no pressure and Voula was so helpful and understanding when I wanted to try a couple dresses on for a second time to compare. The best part was how honest she was with me. I want to look my best on my wedding day and Voula helped me find a dress that highlighted my features and hid my imperfections. *Update* *THREE STARS* Once I got ahold of the OWNER of the store, she was more than happy to accommodate me by letting me in the store (just myself) to try the dress on, and THEN pay for it and take it with me. Thank you Jennifer. Better service than what the manager was giving me. ------ *ONE STAR* Due to Covid, and the closing of the store, I am being forced to pay in full for my dress before even seeing my dress or trying it on (or I'll suffer additional costs). This is absolutely absurd- the store manager is in no way honouring the waiting period that we're all in due to this pandemic. It's not the customers fault that the store is not open. Customers should NEVER be penalized for something like this. Customers should be granted the time, from two weeks of the reopening of the store, to pick up their dresses, see it/try it on, and then pay for it in full. Storage space is not a customers problem during a pandemic (that's the reality we currently live in- nothing is easy or fair), nor should any additional costs be enforced on the customer because of this. Companies are trying all that they can to help people out during this pandemic, by offering payment options, or lowering their prices. I have bought my bridal gown and ordered my bridesmaid dresses through Sophie's and have been really happy with their service. I went in twice to look at wedding gowns and was helped both times by the same person. The second time I went was unfortunately much busier than the first (even though it was a Thursday) so I had to work with someone new, but ultimately found the gown anyways. I liked the large variety of gowns, including that they have a large variety of sizes for you to try on for both bridal and bridesmaid dresses. Our bridesmaid dress consultant, Debora, was Fantastic and helped to locate the perfect design based on the body types in my wedding party. She was able to arrange for me to see my bridal gown next to the bridesmaid dresses and brought out some accessories that really made the dress pop. While I didn't end up going with the accessories, it did confirm for me that she was really able to grasp my sense of style. The only down side I will point out is that at times the consultants seemed over worked. I've gone four times total now and three out of four times each person has had more than two clients that they are working with. My best advice is go on a Monday or Tuesday like my first time when it is quietest! read more

We had a tight turn-around for a dress and we were unsure if some stores could deliver. The search for dresses at the racks was fun, there was a good variety of dresses available. In the fitting rooms we found a dress that might work. Voula was so lovely and very helpful with handling our situation. She came by to help us and she said that ordinarily we wouldn't be able to get the dress in time. However, she informed us that she could put in a rush and get it to us in a few weeks. She reminded us of Vera from Say Yes to the Dress - very nurturing kind of woman, really needed in a situation that's usually flustered and stressful. We didn't end up buying anything there. While we can't vouch for every associate, we found the service and associate(s) for our particular visit to be quite memorable. Thank you! read more

I would avoid all business dealings with Sophie's I had a great experience trying on the dresses, but they have completely fallen flat when it comes to customer service. After purchasing my bridal gown, I was told that if my mother and bridesmaids or anyone purchased their dresses from Sophie's, there would be a discount on their dresses. When my mother and sister purchased their dresses, they were told no such discount could be given. Too bad for them. Fine, we agreed to just buy them there for convenience and be done with it. After several months, we had no word from them in regards to the arrival of my mother & sister's dresses as we were told approximately 2 months for their arrival. When I called to get a status update, I was told that my mother's dress wasn't expected for at least six months and she couldn't understand why I was even bothering her to call. LUCKILY, the dress arrived "early". We never would hvae bought that dress if we have been appropriately told the time. At the time of the purchase, my mother decided it best to just pay in full and be done with it. However, similar to the last post, this proved to be a problem. We have a bill that states "PAID IN FULL", yet when my mother arrived to pick up her dress she was told he owed another $60 in "fees from the manufacturer". Currently, they have no reason for this extra $60 other than staff error, which we believe we should not have to cover. There are also issues with the alteration rates we were originally told would be honoured. Finally, in regards to my dress, I was told at the time of purchase to schedule a fitting after the dress arrives to determine what undergarments I need. But when I called to make this appointment I was VERY RUDELY told I had to have all of those items or I would "just be wasting the seamstresses time by coming". I have no idea what exactly I need yet, but after 15 mins I finally got the woman to understand that I needed to try on the dress to figure out what was needed. "Oh, well then just come in whenever. You obviously don't need an appointment for that". I have had nothing but terrible service from this store and has caused my family and myself a lot of grief through what should be a fun and memorable (in a good way!) process. I would completely avoid this store! There are plenty of fabulous bridal shops in London, which is where my sister and cousin will now be purchasing their bridal gowns and up to 12 bridesmaid dresses. read more

Where do I even start? When it came to my own dress...I had 4 "final" dress-fittings. 4!! Last time I checked, 'Final" was defined as "pertaining to or coming to the end" Every time we went in, they had forgotten to do something, or hem this part, or add this...everything we had told them to do the first time, took 4 extra reminders to get these things done. My bridesmaid dresses were another nightmare. My MOH was blessed with a large chest, a tiny waist, and a lovely bottom...they made her pay an extra $50 (on top of the $175 she had already paid for the dress) because her breasts made her a "plus size", even though she's a size 9. Then, they charged her another $60 for alterations to take out all the "plus sized" fabric at her waist out. My mother, now this lady has some patience. She ordered her dress 6 months before the wedding. Her dress came in ONE WEEK before my wedding. And since of course nothing ever got done on weekends, she had 4 days to get the dress altered, fitted, and out the door. They even forgot to hem the sleeves of her jacket/shrug so my mother spent my wedding rolling them up or just not even bothering to wear the jacket. Overall, if you enjoy being let down and disappointed, go to Sophie's. If not, shop around. PS. They have a "Private Lot" but it's pointless. No one knows how to park back there and one time I was blocked from being able to leave, I went inside looking for the customer who parked their car blocking the laneway...and it wasn't a customer but one of the girls who worked there!! read more

I have $400 down on a dress that they won't give me back or transfer to a bridesmaids dress. We've since decided to do city Hall and I don't want to spend that kind of money. I'm not normally one to do this, but after getting off the phone with the(very rude) manager Lelia, I feel like a warning to all brides looking to purchase at Sophie's is necessary. My mother in law purchased her gown at Sophie's and paid a pretty penny too. After the ceremony (re: no eating, dancing, vigorous movements) the dresses zipper split right down the middle. She had to leave the reception to change, missing dinner. I called Sophie's and they told me it's not their problem and accused her of not doing up the zipper correctly (ie. you think she's that stupid to do up a zipper!?!!!??) I asked if she was instructed on how to do up the zipper and she had said yes of course. Which I asked her and her daughter, and they said definitely they were not instructed on how to do up the zipper or the importance of proper technique. I had even asked my bridesmaids if they were instructed when they picked up their own dresses, and they all said definitely not. Zipper was never touched during alterations and the dress fit her perfectly. I know I'm not the only one who's had problems with this store and the manager, but I ignored them thinking it was a one off chance that a fluke happened. Do not shop here! read more

Went down to Sophie's Gown Shoppe today - August 18th, 2018 - dropped in with no appointment, but was looked after adequately. Being the grandmother of the Bride - I was tying to get something that would complement me as well as my husband - within the confines of what we had to work with - as we are involved in a wedding in S.C. at a Plantation - therefore a formal event. I was looked after by Voula who kept bringing me the dresses they had on hand - that I was looking for. There were other bridal parties there getting fitted for their events - but we had lots of time before our event - so had time to try on these outfits, for what I was looking for. Have to go back for a fitting - and then can take my dress home for our Spring wedding in which we are looking forward to. If the mark of a good business is not the friendly service you receive while you are handing over the cash, but how they handle problem situations, then Sophie's fails. Big time. Here was my experience there: Sophie's Gown Shoppe requires a 50% deposit in order to place a dress order. The wedding I was to be a part of was tragically canceled, and I was wondering what would happen to my order and my deposit. They told me I had two options: forfeit my deposit, or pay the balance and pick up the dress. Fair enough. I was fine forfeiting my 50% deposit (who needs a purple tea-length dress anyway?), but there was a catch: I also paid the balance the same day as the deposit. I did this over the phone because I am from out of town. Of course I thought I would get a refund on the balance of the dress. All of the other bridesmaids forfeited their 50% deposit and left the dresses at Sophie's. Well, for some reason they decided they would keep a 100% payment from me. As I continued to explain how unfair this is, the sales person I spoke with continued to tell me how I was "confusing" her and that she "didn't understand" what I was saying. She kept saying that it was store policy to "keep the deposit". Yes. The deposit. The 50% deposit should be kept to cover the cost of the dress. This, I understand. This, I was willing to happily give them. But why do they have to keep the other half? They are going to profit from me, while the others pay only half? They are going to profit from a broken marriage? Terrible. Absolutely terrible. read more

I joined Yelp today so that I could post this review, in light of the horrendous experience I had at this store. Upon arriving to pick up a dress I had ordered months ago, and despite calling the location ahead of time to confirm the dress was in fact there, I was left to wait for over an hour and a half before being told first, that the dress had shipped elsewhere through a store error, then, that they had been looking for the wrong dress and would need to search the back again, and then, that they would figure out where the dress was and ship it to me. When they checked my information they had recorded the incorrect address and additionally had no functioning points of sale. All the while, and throughout my dealings with this business, I was made to feel that I was at fault for the issues I encountered and an inconvenience to the sales staff. I will not be returning to this store. read more

Every visit here was a horrible experience. I never felt comfortable or taken care of. Staff is unprofessional and very rude. When I initially came in to view dresses for an initial appointment, I was told (while standing in the doorway, I was never seated for my consultation) that I would not like anything they had in store nor would I look good in anything they had. The staff member (Jackie) put me in purposely hideous dresses which were 4-8 sizes too big, told me I looked awful and I wouldn't like it and didn't even bother zipping or slipping the back. She did not allow me to browse dresses and seemed like she didn't want to sell me anything because I wasn't a size 2 and 6 feet tall. I ended up purchasing a dress which was such a bad idea. I regret it every day. I should have just left that day and never turned back. I love my dress but for every following consultation I was rushed in and out, no attention paid, staff lost my dress on a number of occasions, and to make it all worse my dress was too long after alterations (I was tripping over it all day) and my undergarments were never cut down to be hidden under my dress. All day I had to walk around with my bra showing in my dress. I was so embarassed. I called to speak to a manager after my wedding - was told there was no one to speak to. Called back the next day - the "manager" barely spoke to me or wanted to listen to my issue. She cut me off while I was trying to explain and then told me she would have to call me back, and never did. I have not been able to contact her since. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING HEFE. read more

I went gown shopping with my 2 best friends. We were not helped in any way, shape or form. We were told where the dresses were and then left to fend for ourselves. Sign #1. Sign #2. When ordering my dress the salesperson did not do my measurements until after I had taken off my dress, after barely having seen me in my dress. She insisted I order an 8. I insisted I order a 6. After some back and forth I settled on the 8 only because I could see that this battle was not to be won by me. Sign #3. I dropped by the store a month after ordering my dress. Again mentioned how I really did not think that a size 8 was appropriate. They told me nothing could be done now as it was ordered. I asked to speak to a manager and was told to call back, but not on a Saturday because its too busy. Sign #4. When my dress came in I tried it on. WAY too big. I told the salesperson who said alterations would be done. Really, but at my expense. A significant expense. I took my dress home. Upset. No apology. The only saving grace here was that after I wrote a letter I received a call from the owner, or manager. She was very apologetic and offered free alterations. But I had already taken care of them. I have recently had another friend have similar issues with a bridesmaid dress. I would not recommend this store. read more

Being a new bride, I decided to try a fancy looking shop, such as Sophie's, hoping that the service and quality would be excellent. However, this was not my experience. I received very rude and impatient service. I tried on a total of 2 dresses, one not even being fully done up before I was instructed to go show my party. The employees "oooh's and ahhh's" couldn't have been more faked. I asked to try on 2 other dresses while there. I was denied trying on both, with the employee stating that I "wouldn't like this one" and that the other one was out of my price range, which however was true, but had she put me in it and I liked it, I would have been willing to bump up, but she won't know that now. After trying on the second dress (the one not done up), I was told to "just go back to the first store and buy the other dress I have clearly chosen". I had not "clearly chosen" any dress, I simply wanted to know my options out there, and she did not help me do this at all. I also tried to find some bridesmaids dresses while there. She not only refused to even acknowledge the fact that I had brought pictures with me of the dresses I wanted to see on my bridesmaid, but she infact ended up walking away from us. Overall, this shoppe doesn't even deserve a half star. I gladly found my dream dress, after trying on a few other styles, just incase, at another store. I plan on warning all future brides to avoid this store and there rude customer service at all costs! read more

Our experience at Sophie's on June 23rd, 2012 was excellent. I was the mother of the bride, trying to help my daughter choose her dress. She has been struggling with weight and self-image issues for a long time, so shopping for clothes was always stressful to her. The consultant, Debora, was the best you could wish for - she picked up "the vibe" immediately - and responded in very tactful, discreet and understanding way. She helped my daughter trying on dresses, all the while being patient and respectful. She offered some of her own suggestions and ideas, but was not "pushy" at all. Just the opposite, Debora was thoroughly professional and never once called her client "honey" or "sweetheart" - a definite PLUS! My daughter walked out of the store with a beautiful dress in her hands, happy and looking forward to her wedding in August. read more

My FSIL used this shop for her wedding dress. From the get-go it was nothing but miscommunication and poor service. She walked in there excited to find a dress and walked out depressed and upset. A few things to be fair: she was looking for a dress five months out from the wedding rather than the recommended 6-12. However, this is no excuse for what ensued. Firstly, as soon as her small budget left her lips, the service dropped off like a flash of lightning. The employee clearly showed she wanted us off her hands ASAP to make room for a better paying customer. Furthermore, she saved most of her vitriol for poor FSIL in the dressing room, where she said that she could not use the mirrors because she hadn't reserved one in advance (even though she'd called and asked if she should and was told that wasn't necessary). Fast-forward to now. Her wedding is in a few weeks and although she was at first told her dress would arrive with weeks to spare now she is being told it will arrive on the day before the wedding. They also made her order extra big so they could glean as much money as possible from alteration fees. Don't go here. Shop somewhere you'll be treated with respect. read more

I was told upon ordering my dress that it would be in by the end of August 2012. When I called to inquire about it, I was told it would be probably another two weeks. I told the sales staff that I was not happy with that. She said "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" and "don't shoot the messanger, I can't help you" What horrible customer service not to mention rude, and insulting. I requested the manager call me, which she assured me she would pass the message along. It's been over a week with no return call. I may have bought a $400 gown from Sophies, but they will pay dearly for their crappy customer service, because I will use every social media available to let the public know what terrible service I have received to date. If I could post less then one star I would, my daugher her 5 bridesmaids, mother of the bride and mother of the groom all went in looking for dresses, not only did they have my daughter (the bride) in tears with the way she was treated the staff was rude arrogant and just didn't care. When I asked where the mother of the bride dresses were the lady helping us completely ignored me and then tried to kick me out of the dressing room where my daughter was trying on wedding dresses. Not only that even with all of us thinking of buying from one store would they make any sort of deal on a wedding dress. I would definately not shop in or recommend this store to anyone read more

If it wasn't for Bianca I could give Sophie's Gown Shoppe in London a much lower rating. After having a wonderful experience "saying yes to the dress" it quickly went down hill after that. I had to come in for a total of 5 fittings and the dress still wasn't want I was hoping it to be. I had to beg for the proper adjustments - boning, length, etc. I was told I would not need a final fitting and instead just come back to pick up the dress. I'm glad I decided to go with my gut and schedule a 5th fitting because when I came in, everything promised that would be done from the last fitting was not! Not to mention, it was at this time (and only this time) I started to have material bunch on the right side of my body and no where else. This is where Bianca saved the day. She stood with me through my fitting and was quite adamant that the reason for the bunching that the seamstress gave me of "it has always been like this" was not in fact true at all. Not to mention, the shortened the length far too short on the right side, while leaving the left side much longer. Overall, I received SO many compliments on my wedding day with how wonderful the dress fit me and how gorgeous the dress was (some thought I had flown to NYC to get the dress!) and if it wasn't from Bianca saving me from tears a couple of times, I would suggest going somewhere else. Each time you went in there it did not seem like any of the sales ladies truly cared about how the Bride felt and instead wanted to rush you out of there and take your cash. Bianca, you are amazing! I had an amazing experience at the London location!! Deborah was my consultant and I had intended on going in just to get an idea of what I was looking for. She was very patient, helpful and kind, pulling out exactly what I had asked for. She took the time to understand my vision and I LEFT WITH MY DRESS!! Wow this store's management is a piece of work. In retail I never expect much service wise... at minimum wage I can't expect to be treated like gold... however when you're paying upwards of 300 dollars on a garment they better damn well make sure there aren't going to be mistakes... I go in to pick up my bridesmaid dress to get it altered assured several times that I have the correct dress... the bag, the tags and the receipt repeatedly verified by the store clerk, of course I am expecting that the dress I was given was mine... I take it to get it altered to find out the dress they gave me belonged to another bridesmaid and we had both been given the incorrect size. I come into the store the next day to speak to the manager (the devil with the big hair, you'll know if you see her) and very politely explained the situation and what happened, she stood across from me like I was some kind of disease and just stared saying nothing. As I asked her what she is going to do about the dress, she shrugs to tell me it's not her problem if the manufacturer bagged the dresses incorrectly, obviously I'm irritated at this point because now we have not only one but two bridesmaid dresses that are incorrect and their response is not my problem we won't do anything for you, and REFUSED to be of any assistance for a MISTAKE DONE AT THEIR STORE. I was told to leave the store.... and with that I will never go back. And sophies needs to seriously consider replacing their management... there is obviously a big problem. But best of luck to all brides and bridesmaids... but steer clear... they're awful here. read more

Sophie's gown shoppe London left us feeling quite disppointed and frustrated today. We ordered my daughters prom dress and after receiving confirmation that it was available we were quite excited to pick it up. What they neglected to mention was that when ordering dresses- you are not allowed to try them on in store. Crazy!!! $500 I certainly hope it fits! read more

The people who work at this store are ignorant and rude. They have to respect for the customers. I arrived for my appointment a few minutes before the scheduled time and was immediately told well your early and were running behind so you will have to wait. No pleasant hello or welcome or you can start looking at dresses....just attitude and making me feel like I upset their day by arriving two minutes early. After waiting over half a hour after my appointment time they finally said oh here's a room for you to try on dresses, oh but you are only schedule for a half hour so be fast. If anyone else has ever dress shopped they know it takes half hour just to look through dresses before trying stuff on. Once we rushed through the over crowded racks and found some dresses I tried to put these dresses on as fast as possible only to have to fight for a mirror to look at the outfits. They have one stage and five brides fighting over it will all of their families sit together and comment on the dresses your trying on. I didn't go to have the opinions of four other families given to me, it's hard enough with my own family. I found a few dresses I liked but I will be ordering my dress from anywhere else. If you want to feel terrible and disrespected by all means go to Sophie's your just another credit card to them. Literally any other bridal shop in London will treat you better. read more

Disgusted!!! First time out, and was reprimanded twice for taking pictures. I had a mother in law that could not be there, and an Aunt with a terminal illness that I wanted to share the moment with. YET, all the other people there were taking pictures, and no one was told to put phones away. I called the shop to vent my frustration, and I found the lady rather rude to me as well. I was told to send an email. I'm getting rather sick of petty rules like taking pictures of wedding dress shopping. There's bigger issues in the world that need rules, compared to wedding dress shopping. Not impressed. read more

AWFUL EXPERIENCE! I would not recommend to anyone. To start, Sophie's "supposedly" sends an email when dresses are ready in store. Myself ( the bride) and my bridesmaids did not receive these emails. Customer service is lacking, please pick up the phone and make a phone call. When my bridesmaids went for their dress fitting, we discovered their dresses had been ordered in the wrong colour. Aubergene turned into lilac. The manager has been less than helpful. She has no answer, told me she had to email China and is waiting to hear back. Then she tells me she doesn't know what will happen with alterations since the staff is on holidays. It is the shops fault to begin with that two of my bridesmaids do not have a dress and if they do come in in time, they will have no choice but to be altered at the shop. The least they could do is offer free alterations to them instead of brushing me off and telling me that "the staff is on holidays" and "I 'm trying to sound sincere" and "I'm not trying to brush you off." CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL! read more

I worked for this location for like a week and a half when I quit. My experience working there was awful there is only one girl who is actually really nice very nice to customers seem to actually care about the company. But all the other girls were very rude and Inconsiderate. While in training I witnessed a customer coming in for her last fitting. The young woman Who is doing her fitting was terrible to her. First of all they had and the dress is way too short. And had it taken in too much. This young Woman's wedding was two weeks away. The associate said to her "oh you've put on too much weight" "this is going to cost you a lot to fix" The customer came out crying and I felt horrible. I approach the customer after and I apologized for my coworkers actions. After about 10 minutes my associate came back out and told her that there was nothing they could do with her dress and that she'll have to pick another one. The bride's mother asked for a refund but they wouldn't do it. All they could do was get her into another dress. This wasn't the only location where they were rude to a customer. We had prom girls coming in to look at their prom girls dress and half the time they were very ignorant and rude to them yelling at them about taking photos instead of politely explaining to them why they can't take photos. The store just disgust me and I have told and will continue to turn people away from the store. read more
