More like Sicilian sauce with a touch of sweet than the more spicy traditional Roman pizza sauce. The pizza was like a traditional thinner crust, akin to pizza I've had in Sicily. (Chewy, but crispy on the edges.) Perfect blend of sauce, cheese and toppings. The flavors mingled perfectly to give little bits of each flavor in each bite. The pasta dish we had was the penne Speciali. Oh was it special! Chunks of delicious spicy sausage, creamy tomatoes sauce, little peas and mushrooms, perfectly cooked al dente penne. When Parmesan was offered, we greedily accepted a lovely large spoonful. It was so filling! It was equally amazing heated up. The service, spectacular. Attentive, without being overbearing. Waiter recognized the subtle clues when we were done with each course; offering us drink refills when it was about time, then desert, boxes etc. We were too full for desert, but if it was 1/4 as tasty as the main dishes, it would have been perfect. The cheese was perfectly melted and the crust featured a similar structure to the Focaccia. What really set the pizza apart was the chili oil our waiter drizzled on top. I'm so glad I took him up on his offer because it added a pleasant spicy kick to the pizza. I was also able to sample my wife's vegan pizza. She also decided to go with the chili oil and her pizza was some of the best vegan pizza we've experienced together. The decor inside is stunning, as well as the glowing tabletops. The service is wonderful thus far. Everything on the menu is fairly priced, considering the portion sizes are way above par. I got the crab fettuccini. The service is extremely quick. My main course arrived within maybe 15 minutes of sitting down. Fresh grated Parmesan on top. I can't stop licking my lips haha. So happy to say that I had room for dessert! The Sticky Toffee Pudding was recommended, and yet again, another perfect choice. Toffee was poured on top of the dessert, and it was hot, making the dish that much more enjoyable. Ok. I not only LOVE the food, but I finished all three dishes completely. They worked off each other very nicely and when I don't even have leftovers to take home, it is THAT good. Overall a joyful and delicious experience! If you ever take a trip or you are LOCAL to Scotland, definitely stop in here.
