    Vegetariana pizza with pepperoni
    Wendy B.

Open until 10:00 but did not seem prepared or interested in serving customers arriving at 8:30. The tables were all covered in dirty dishes. She asked us to wait while she cleared a table but then did other things instead, so we had to wait a bit. She took our order fairly quickly and the food came out fresh and hot and was delicious. I had the vegetariana pizza with pepperoni. My granddaughter had the Fettuccini Bolognese except they were out of fettuccini so they made it with a pasta similar to penne. The flavor was still good. When we finished eating, the servers were too busy talking to bring us our check. I had to go and ask her for it. Definitely not good service.

Perhaps I committed sacrilege by visiting Italy while in Scotland, but it was worth it. Besides, I have plenty of pubs in a row for the rest of the week. Made In Italy combines friendly service with tasty drinks and treats, plus the whole meal if you're so inclined. Run from pub lasagna (does such a thing exist?); run here instead. My macchiato was a crafty combination of beauty and taste. I almost couldn't drink it, staring at the lovely cup and perfect foamy colors. The toffee crunch wasn't overly sweet and of course paired perfectly. The hardest part was choosing. Don't confine yourself to coffee/dessert; they have many lovely pastas, flatbreads, pizzas, charcuteries, etc. I'll return since it's across the street.

On holiday and of course you have to have a pizza night! This place was an excellent choice. The service was nice. The dough was exceptionally tasty. The meat pizza had a selection of high quality meats that did not disappoint. Tempting to go back!

A beyond delicious gingerbread latte. It was amazing

Stopped in at first just for a coffee and to get out of the cold when they had most likely just opened but decided to try a bit also. Couldn't resist ordering a small basic pizza with pepperoni, so happy I did. Wasn't able to snap a picture of that though, it some how disappeared the second it hit the table The staff were just lovely and the restaurant is located right in the grass market and was so peaceful and welcoming at that time of day. I talked about that pizza and coffee the rest of our visit in Scotland

Fried burrata - this is a can't miss

Pretty good stop. Enjoyed the fried burrata, especially when spread on the crusts of our pizza. The service was fast and friendly as well. Plus, we managed to get in without a wait or reservation. Great little place for some Italian cheesy goodness.

So, we went there around 8:30. It was very convenient to where our hotel is but also near the Edinburgh Castle so still very busy. We were told that there was no dining inside left for the rest of the evening and we can sit outside if we wanted. We decided to since we were so hungry and it was late. Our server took awhile to bring out for the water and finally we got to order. Very slow!! I wouldn't typically be so impatient but at this point it was 9pm and we had to sit outside and it was 45°. Finally when I couldn't bare it anymore, we were grabbed to come inside when they had an open table. We had ordered while we were outside. We got the garlic cheese bread to start and I got seafood pasta. Since the food took awhile, we luckily didn't get it until we were warm inside. The food was delicious. The seafood in my past was all huge - the mussels and the shrimp. Even though the service was slow - our server was extremely friendly. And I'm glad I was able to enjoy the food in warmth.

    Vegetarian English breakfast

Located in the heart of the Grassmarket, my wife and I arrived here late one morning after freshly coming in from an overnight flight to Edinburgh. I was starving as we approached our Airbnb. We saw this place and decided to give it a try. It was very busy so we sat outside. It has great views of the Grassmarket and it was bustling. I had a cappuccino (which was good) and ordered the vegetarian English breakfast. I ate almost everything. Not the best breakfast in the world, but it came out quickly and filled me up. My only qualm with this place was trying to find our server. Would have loved to have tried some of their actual Italian foods too, but what I really needed was breakfast, and breakfast they do!

As someone who truly loved little about Scotch, it was a wonderful way to taste and compare smoky vs peaty whiskeys. Fun. Our table was upstairs and we sat next to an open door which allows for fresh cool air. It was a warm day in Edinburgh. Our server was wonderful, patient and really helpful. Our choices were truly delicious. We started with the fish board, olives, and mushroom skewer. We loved them all. I enjoyed the cod main dish, while my wife finished the starters. The side of asparagus was also excellent. The mouse dessert was delicious but very rich, it's enough for 4 people. The cost of dinner was also totally reasonable. I recommend this place highly.

When we arrived at noon (opening time), the restaurant wasn't too busy. There is an impressive bar downstairs with many whiskies. We were led upstairs to the dining area. There is outdoor dining too that would be nice if the weather was warmer. Cool vibe, but it is kind of dark inside the stone walls. The menu is Scottish-focused with seasonal ingredients. We didn't want to overeat, so we decided to share a starter and a main. We got the Scottish venison fritters, which were ok. We enjoyed the pappardelle pasta (roast pumpkin and pecorino sauce, wild mushrooms, spinach, bacon and poppy seed crumb, crispy sage). It was flavorful and didn't feel too heavy. Staff were friendly and it was an enjoyable lunch.

More like Sicilian sauce with a touch of sweet than the more spicy traditional Roman pizza sauce. The pizza was like a traditional thinner crust, akin to pizza I've had in Sicily. (Chewy, but crispy on the edges.) Perfect blend of sauce, cheese and toppings. The flavors mingled perfectly to give little bits of each flavor in each bite. The pasta dish we had was the penne Speciali. Oh was it special! Chunks of delicious spicy sausage, creamy tomatoes sauce, little peas and mushrooms, perfectly cooked al dente penne. When Parmesan was offered, we greedily accepted a lovely large spoonful. It was so filling! It was equally amazing heated up. The service, spectacular. Attentive, without being overbearing. Waiter recognized the subtle clues when we were done with each course; offering us drink refills when it was about time, then desert, boxes etc. We were too full for desert, but if it was 1/4 as tasty as the main dishes, it would have been perfect. You would be a complete dumbass to not eat here. As an American born Italian- it's legit. Don't tell my nonna, but theirs is better than her food.

It was quite full but we were lucky to get seated quickly. The place inside is bigger than expected and goes long, but narrow. Between the 4 of us we shared a risotto, pesto, carbonara and a spicy marinara dish. My favorite was the spicy marinara dish. It had the most flavor. I found the pesto a bit lacking and had to add some salt to it. The carbonara was nice, but the risotto was just ok. Service was great. Would come back and try other dishes.
