This place was sooo good the popusas were amazing! I came here with my coworker Niki and her daughter; it was sooo good! The workers were nice and quick to assist :)

Stopped in after visiting a winery and searching on Yelp for some place new to try for lunch. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant is small, but is clean and has comfortable seating. The food is Salvadoran and Mexican. We ordered the Malibu Shrimp appetizer, which is coconut-breaded shrimp served with mango sauce ($8.50). I also ordered the soft taco with asada ($3.75), and my husband ordered the Pupusas Revuletas, which is a pupusa (thick griddle cake) with peppers, onions, tomatoes. I thought the shrimp was a bit overcooked, the coating being a deep brown rather than a golden brown, and a bit too crunchy. The mango sauce was okay, but not a lot of flavor. The taco and pupusa were good. Overall, a fine reasonably-priced lunch.

Way back from Tahoe and and wanted to try a hole in the wall Mexican place and we came across this amazing place. Great customer service amazingly fresh food at great prices. Happy hour surprised us. Repeat visit for our family for sure.

The food and service were great. It's a cute hole in the wall restaurant and the server was very friendly. They serve free chips and salsa.

The whole entire experience was special. The food reminds me of my Tias and Mama Carmen making pupusas at home. The owner came out and toasted with us and to us all. I wished I lived here because I'd eat here every week no questions asked. Bottom line you don't see customer service or get an experience like this with cooperate restaurants. This place will stay in my heart and I will have to come and visit every year because it reminds me of home!

I am super pleased and surprised at this restaurant. We pass by it here and there but I never thought to go in and try the foods as we have other options closer to home. We came here on a Wednesday at noon and there was no one. That made me a little wary and throughout lunch only two other tables came in. But service was wonderful! Kind, patient, attentive. We ordered the carnitas platter and the lamb based on the pictures on their windows. I thought maybe they wouldn't have the lamb. They did. I thought maybe it wouldn't be a popular menu so the lamb might be tough or taste freezer burned. It wasn't! So meals come with complimentary chips and salsa. Salsa needs a touch more salt but it was nice. My lamb was extremely saucy (look at pic). I admired the way the server didn't spill any of it as his hands were shaking, ha! The lamb was so tender. Tasted great! Not too games, not old, not freezer burned. The sauce was nice though I didn't need all of it. I don't even like beans but they tasted great, warm and cheesy and also dipped with chips. BD's carnitas were delicious. Tender and soft. He raved about it. He also likes their pupusas. I got to try the Birria. Also yummy! Friend's enchiladas looked great. She enjoyed it. The size of the regular burrito is HUMUNGOUS. Friend said it was a little dry, should've let him dip it in the excess lamb sauce. A table we knew was also there. They said Soriano is their favorite place. I'm gonna have to keep this place in rotation!

The birria was so damn good. Carnitas was really good too, the meat was a bit hard at times. I came with a friend and after we ordered there was an almost 30 minute wait. I was getting a bit restless but the place was busy and the food is made fresh. We were also served tortilla chips with frijoles as a sort of appetizer while we waited. They serve beer here as well. Not the biggest restaurant but the server was nice and friendly. Restaurant clean as well. Would definitely be worth visiting again.

The Spot That Made Me Fall in Love with Pupusas…read more This is the place that made me fall in love with a pupuseria. My wife and I were out one day, decided to try something new, and found this gem up the street from our church. One thing I always look for with cultural cuisine is who's actually eating there. When you walk into a place and see people who grew up in that culture enjoying the food, it tells you everything you need to know about authenticity. This spot checks that box. It feels like the kind of food you'd get at a friend's house, not just something made to look the part. The staff was friendly and personable, which made the experience even better. Now, let me set expectations--this isn't the kind of place where your water glass is getting refilled every five minutes. But you can grab a soda or a horchata and you're good to go. The open kitchen is a big part of the experience. You can see everything being made, and more importantly, you can smell it. You start eating with your nose before the food even hits the table. You take it in with your eyes, and then your taste buds finish the job. I've recommended this place to a few people, and they've gone back again and again. That says a lot. If you like authentic food and want something that feels real--not staged--I think this could easily become one of your new favorite spots.

The Alcapurria masa was missing flavor even tho it had a beautiful fry on it. The meat inside wasn't bad. I was disappointed to not be given mayoketchup and the sauce was very runny, I didn't think it enhanced the Alcapurria at all. The yellow rice was also lacking in flavor, it needed more sazón or sofrito. And the cook on the rice itself was off but perhaps they had a bad batch that day. The Shrimp on the Mofongo was the best thing I had and I enjoyed the portion. The mofongo just needed more butter since the juice from the shrimp couldn't cover the whole serving. Overall I want to give them points it did help my craving of missing home, hopeful it was just an off day and they can hit with more sazón next time !

That was not a good feeling, but then he also did not speak English well. He messed up three of the four items we ordered and of course they all cost more than what we ordered. When we got the bill and told him, he got the cook and we were able to settle everything out easily. We were told that the owner's wife was out so he was serving. We were happy to hear that his serving was temporary :). I am not sure if we received the lunch item or dinner item because our bill was wrong, but I ordered the chile verde chimichanga which comes with rice and beans. It was hot and fresh and absolutely delicious! My partner had the bean and cheese lunch and he loved it as well. The salsa was flavorful and mild. All of the food was mild so next time I will ask for some spice! The restaurant is a good size and festive looking. It was clean and comfortable and the prices were good! We can't wait to go back!

Lastly, we ordered 2 carne asada tacos and the meat was also burnt black and dark brown bits, no lime served on the side for these. After leaving a 25% tip online we'd hoped to have an enjoyable meal but we were disappointed. Also surprised at whoever packaged the food, letting it be served in that condition was concerning.
