We ordered (2) Chicken Fried Steak one with country potatoes and the other with hash (extra crispy and with onions and peppers). Loved that they gave you the option to add onions and peppers if you want it. I ordered the home made corn beef hash with 2 eggs and hands down one of the better corn beef hash I've had. It's a rustic cozy place. Service was very friendly and warm and engaging. It seems like a lot of regular locals come here. Bathrooms are freezing. Parking lot is a little small and can get crowded fast. We ordered some tea, but the water wasn't hot enough, and I don't think it ever really did get super hot even though the server was very generous to try and keep refilling the hot water container. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. I ordered the chicken fried steak with gravy on the side. It was well fried and not greasy. On our way back from Tahoe in the storm, a coffee break sounded like a good idea and Cozy Oaks fit the bill. Parking lot of huge and easy to find via GPS. This is a great locals place, but the staff was super friendly to us! The menu was simple yet hearty. Think classic breakfast cabin and you got that! It was super cute because they were also setting up for a paint and sip night the morning we were there (so it sounds like they do more than just breakfast, brunch, and lunch!) Black coffee was solid and pipping hot. My cup was refilled always. I opted for the avocado toast and they were generous with the potions and the toasted was perfectly toasted. Came to cozy oaks cafe searching for a local, delicious breakfast for my family and I after camping for a few days. Greeted warmly by the server, coloring books for kiddos, served piping hot coffee, and had a wide range of food on their menu! Notably, they said they had the best corned beef and hash in town, and they did not disappoint!! (They said they locally source their meat too). We also had the vegetarian omelette and hash browns. And two hot chocolates with whipped cream and steamy! My friend had sausage and egg on the half breakfast which was great too! Iam a firm believer in supporting new local businesses. As I was driving past I said Iam hungry so I turned around to try this place out. Boy when I opened the men prices were pretty high. Their was a 4.50 charge more to have potatoes added to half order of biscuits and gravy wow! 4.50 up charge for fruit ok wow! That's just to say the least.
