I used to come here and get tattoos from Ryan often and he was amazing. Always spent time on his tattoos and they looked great when I left and healed well too. The last two times I came here the artists who did my tattoos Didn't give a single shit about their work. Friendly tattoo parlor but these people take no credit in their work. Went in as a walking. I should have listened to my instincts. It felt as no one was in the mood to tatto. I just wanted a fine line compass on my wrist. The lines are off kilter, one is noticeably shorter than the others, some touch and some don't. Lastly, the E for East looks like a combination of 5 and 6. This is a horrible tattoo. Firstly sorry for any names misspelled or forgotten. I was recommended to go here to get my nose repiereced but a friend of one of pierced there named Berkie. Super solid and quick process. Explained some stuff and made it super simple. Shop was clean and comfortable. After a day or two with my swelling I noticed my beautiful chunky nose was eating the gem. Went in and again super solid, service. They switched the Jewelry out and I was on my way within 5 or so mins. Haven't gotten a tattoo here but definitely coming back for both of the services. This was a really bad experience. Outside of my tattoo not being done very well (squiggly lines and missing shade), the guy who did the work was an absolute mess. Told me he had Tested positive for Covid several weeks ago and then said, "go ahead and take off your mask if you want." Told me he was violating some protocol by wearing sweatpants when not supposed to. Kept answering his phone and messing with things without changing gloves. I guess I could have addressed all that while there, but I shouldn't have to. The guy seemed like a nice enough guy, which is why I hate to write this review, but the issues should be addressed. Made an appointment over the phone, showed up on time and everything just went south as soon as the young lady at the front desk asked if we had been helped. She was incredibly rude to my friend. Got my septum pierced. When I came in at opening (walk-in), they told me they didn't have any septum forceps sterilized and to come back in an hour to an hour and a half. I came back at about an hour and fifteen and the equipment was done sterilizing. I was taken back and had my piercing in about 15 minutes. Staff was friendly, professional, and I had all needles, equipment, etc opened in front of me. Explained everything needed and helped out with aftercare. Would recommend! Thanks Sorry Mom! read more

I can't speak for their tattoos but I got my nose pierced and it was great. I had heard a lot of bad reviews about Sorry Mom and I was warned against going here. I was going to go to Golden Monkey but they were booked up and I didn't want to wait, so against everyone's judgement I decided to go to Sorry Moms anyway cuz they took walk-ins and I'm not a patient person. I wanted to get my nose pierced but I was nervous since I hadn't been pierced in 15 years when I had gotten my tongue pierced and fainted. So, naturally, I was a bit nervous going into this piercing, but the piercer answered all my questions and I decided to go for it. She opened the needle in front of me to show it was a clean new needle and she sterilized the jewelry and cotton swabs. The piercing went smoothly but once again my body wanted to faint afterwards. Apparently my body can get tattooed all day long with no issues but can't seem to handle a 2 second piercing ‍ The piercer got me some water and let me sit there till i no longer saw white dots everywhere. She did a great job with the placement and my nose never even got red or swollen. The picture i posted is about 15 mins after the piercing, no redness or swelling. It looks like it's healing nicely and overall I'm very impressed with how smooth the piercing went. I'll be coming back here when I'm ready for my next piercing. read more

I literally left the shop in tears over how I was treated. I did a walk in because every where I live (30 mins away) was closed or had no artists in town. I waited as people who wanted piercings got to go before me even though I had been there before them. I wasn't mad or upset. Until it came time to put the outline of what I wanted on. First off, I explained multiple times what I wanted which went ignored. The size was not taken into consideration whatsoever and I wasn't listened to at all. The artist I had was more concerned about the people waiting to get pierced than me being happy. She refused to do what I wanted or make it any smaller or place it where I wanted. She proceeded to tell me it didn't look good with my current tattoos and how it was odd. Which of course made me feel horrible because my tattoos are all different with no theme because they all mean something special to me. And to have a tattoo artist tell me it doesn't look good truly hurt. She was rushed and didn't seem to care. She asked if there was anything else I wanted and so I showed her which seemed to aggravate her even more. So she tried to see if I wanted one thing that matched another of my tattoos which isn't what I wanted. I felt rushed and like I was taking up her time so I ended up just leaving because I knew myself or what I wanted was not a priority. Never have I been treated this badly at a tattoo parlor nor will I ever return. I literally walked out the door crying because of how horrible I was made to feel and how horrible she made me feel about what I already have. I had a really frustrating and disappointing experience at this tattoo shop. My friend had an appointment with Alex at 4 pm, and the night before, I came in person to check if they had availability for me and another person to get tattoos at the same time. I spoke to Max, who gave us a price, I asked him if we could make appointments and he assured us we could walk in at 4 pm. When we arrived at 3:50, Max remembered our conversation, and said it would be a little bit, which was no problem. My friend arrived after me for her appointment and talked to the receptionist, after that I also told the receptionist that we were walk-in's and that we had talked to Max. The receptionist immediately came off rude, but I figured she was just stressed or having a bad day. My friend went in for her tattoo, and me and my boyfriend sat at the front patiently, even though others were taken back before us we thought nothing of it because they were all getting piercings and we were getting tattoos. The receptionist seemed disinterested and was on her phone most of the time, they seemed very abrupt with everyone who walked in which was a complete vibe switch to how friendly everyone was when i had come in the night prior. When a woman and her mother came in and inquired about wait times for a tattoo, the receptionist said there was none. I spoke up, after waiting for over an hour, and reminded her that we were waiting for tattoos. She very rudely said "well did you talk to anyone??" I explained I had spoken to someone twice, including HER, and came in last night. She went to the back and talked negatively about me to the staff, where my friend was getting her tattoo. It was very confusing cause not only did i talk to someone, but if they were unclear about what we wanted done, after we sat there for over an hour, they could have asked us? We totally understood that we were walking in on a Saturday, so we had no problem waiting, it was just frustrating waiting all that time and then being disregarded and talked down to like that. After being treated this way, I left, even though I initially liked the shop's atmosphere. Additionally, I overheard Max giving a different minimum price to someone else, contradicting what he told me. He told me the night prior the minimum price was $100, which i had no problem with, but while i was waiting told another person looking to get a tattoo that the minimum was $60. They made me feel at fault for waiting, but I had spoken to them multiple times, and we waited for over an hour without anyone checking in. On the bright side, my friend got her tattoo from Alex and it turned out really beautiful and Alex was very professional and nice. read more

Frankly I'm surprised to read some of the neg reviews on here...I have one kid drawing of elephant done here, love it! Two piercings and tonight I went and got one done by Josh. I walked in last week and decided to ponder it a bit...even went to another one in town prior (to me, they weren't welcoming nor did they care to try to get me in or even ask me what I wanted). Josh did. Therefore, i returned to this shop once again. Absolutely LOVE IT and love Josh!!! Omgosh it absolutely was the best tattoo I got! No heavy hand, very comfortable, min pain and it turned out perfect! I couldn't be more happier, Josh is my to-guy now and I showed him the next one he could do for me!! So happy! As for the young lady working there, doing the piercings. I swear so many ppl coming in for piercings. I am very observant and watched her, she was gentle, talked to them before, during and after. I have no experience with their tattoo artists, this is a review for the piercer: I've only been in there once and that was yesterday when my nose ring came loose at work and I needed somewhere close by that could (supposedly) fix and secure it for me. It's a pliable metal, if it could come loose on its own you'd think it'd be very quick and easy for a licensed professional piercer to tighten it back together with the proper tools. Not the case here. To the gentleman's credit he was cordial and friendly but it was obvious he really had NO clue what he was doing. After a few half-hearted tires to push the opening in the hoop together, he said it just wasn't going to go any further and I had probably damaged it when trying to secure it myself. That's fair; I am not a professional piercer or jewelry-handler so it's entirely plausible that this was the case. I asked if they carried any nose rings that he could put in for me since the one I had was supposedly damaged; he said that they only carried stud jewelry but that if I wanted a ring I could always just go to Hot Topic or Spencer's -- BIG red flag. In all my years of being involved in body modification I have NEVER encountered a reputable piercer worth their salt that would EVER recommend jewelry from those establishments to clients; they're poorly made with cheap, porous metal that can harbor tons of bacteria (especially in the nose, I mean come on) and my piercers back in my hometown that I always went to would actively discourage buying jewelry from there for those reasons. I didn't say anything of this nature to him, I simply thanked him, tipped him for his time, and left. I wound up making the trip out to Golden Monkey after work to see if they carried the jewelry I needed, and while they did, turns out I didn't need it; my ring was not damaged in any way, and the lovely gentleman there tightened it, fixed it, and actually made it MORE secure than it had been before in about 2 seconds. I'll be commending him for his service in a review for Golden Monkey here shortly, but the point of this review is that the piercer at Sorry Mom's is not someone I would trust with caring for, much less performing, a body modification. You're likely best off going elsewhere for those services. read more

Come to find out they pierced it on a tiny flap of skin and did it completely wrong. When I told them what had happened the girl working was rude and unprofessional. I've only ever gotten piercings at this place. They do them super cheap ($25 + 10% of the total charge ) (any where in northern Virginia charges you at least $45+) every one is always friendly, opens everything in front of me and lets me know general after care. The only thing thats kind of weird is that, in most piercing places (in my experience) you are taken to a separate room where all the equipment and stuff is and there is a bed to lay down on for a more private and comfortable experience. I've been pierced here twice, and both times its been in a chair in the middle of the shop. So random people paying at the register can/have watched me get pierced. To me, its not a big deal, if anything, its funny to chat with them about my piercing later. But if you're someone that cries or gets anxiety or dramatic, this might not be the place for you unless you are comfortable with an audience. Lol Other than that, I recommend this place to any one. Its quick, clean, and cheap. Just not private haha read more

I wanted to get my 2nd eyebrow picercing for my birthday. I called Sorry Mom and found it was only $20 for any piercing. I was excited that it was so cheap. But even if it was free, I would not have gotten it done when I arrived to the scene. Now, being a local, I understand the history and old age of the buildings, but the shop was dirty and unsanitary. I went to use the restroom and saw that some scaffolding in the walls were falling out, showing a dirt and brick interior. Unsteady shelves of cleaners and chemicals lined the right wall. To top it off, when I came out of the bathroom, this is the conversation that ensued between me and the piercer (I refuse to use the word artist because he is far from it): Piercer: Sit down right here. Me: Is that a barbell? I kind of want a hoop... Piercer: A barbell heals better. Sit down. Me: I still have to go fill out the paper work out front. Piercer: *proceeds to cop an attitude* Well then go fill it out then! Needless to say I scoffed and walked out. There was no privacy, no cleanliness, and the guy was a complete jerk to a paying customer. The only redeeming experience was the receptionist/greeter that was very nice when I walked in. I hope this place either fixes itself up or gets shut down. Its horrendous and I do not recommend this facility to anyone. read more
