I wanted to surprise my husband with some celebratory new ink to commemorate our 10 year anniversary... the idea came to me last minute and I'm one of those people who when I think of something, I have to get it done asap! There's no patience with me. Lol. Considering the fact that most of the time, I'm a bit of an over thinker... this is a good balance, however ... NOT good when you're talking about trying to find a tattoo shop to not only take you as a walk in but a second person as well. Driving 30 mins and fighting through traffic and having my hopes up being told over the phone by another shop (not gonna say any names but they're very known downtown Fredericksburg) to come on down - We were turned away because of how ridiculously packed they were. There's no reason I should have even been told to come, they had been packed since opening. So now the cat is out of the bag and my husband now knows about the surprise even though it was a fail... he's crazy excited with the idea so now we're both sitting in the car calling around to see who has availability to do 2 walk in. After almost giving up, I came on YELP and decided to call one last shop. That shop was TATTOO HAVEN. I wish I could remember the gentleman's name who owned the place and picked up ... but he was very upfront with me in telling me they had some time now and could do it today (I told him the pieces were very small) but I may have to do some waiting around. Cool with us. Immediately walking in, we were greeted by 3 people like we were old time friends. I felt welcomed, invited and when I showed what tattoos I wanted - they even shared my enthusiasm. My husband and I are both big Harry Potter fans and the piece we got was a HP theme. It turned into a pretty dope convo about HP with all 3 of the shop employees. I say all this really bc sometimes (ok a lot of the times) walking into a tattoo shop can be pretty intimidating. I have thick skin and sometimes even I get a little rubbed the wrong way with some of the mannerisms of tattoo artists and shop owners. This was the opposite of that. From the initial phone call, to walking in - I truly felt so at ease here. Honestly I could see this as a place I would come to just chill on the couch as if you would do with friends. Now for the actual work done. We friggin LOVE it! Diesel is who did both my husband and I work and the longest time was just waiting for him to draw it up, making sure it was exactly as we wanted it. After that he got us in and out of his chair surprisingly quick. May have even been quicker if it weren't for the fact that we all talked so much lol. I will most def go back to Diesel for any work from now. Our oldest daughter is turning 18 next week and wants some ink and I feel more than comfortable bringing her here. Tattoo Haven def passes the vibe check. I found my shop. (Oh and I put the pic of our tatts, along with a little background of our love story on Fb and the post went friggin viral. LOL! Not a fan of the tattoo artist Sean as he pretty much took my $500 deposit and did no work all because I missed an appointment even though he rescheduled my original appointment because his mom was in the hospital. I get it about his mother, but we all have schedules and things come up. It is complete Bullshit that he just keeps my $500 deposit and didn't even do a drawing or anything. I would not recommend Sean for sure but I haven't heard great things about this shop and was trying to get my money back because I had found a better shop. I had a tattoo done in stafford that was done pretty poorly. I was referred to Sean at Tattoo Haven and was able to be squeezed in. And it was by far the best tattoo experience I've ever had. The people working were all friendly and super easy to talk to. I was in there about an hour and a half and at some point every talked with me or joined our conversation and joked. It was really a great vibe! I also saw a few tattoos happening on other clients and they looked awesome! read more

I went down to visit with my family (I'm from New York.) My sister and i went in to get tattoos in honor of my fathers one year passing. While Eric was a great artist and super nice, within one month I'd realized that part of my tattoo had noticeably faded. I've had other work done and this was already stating to look like I'd had it ten years. I went down for another visit one month later and showed them the tattoo and asked if it could just get it touched up. I was told that Eric would have to be the one to do it and that they'd call me to come in when he came in in about an hour. Never got a return call that day out for the rest of my trip. Just called again to see if i could make a formal appointment when i visit in a couple of months and was told he's not booking before December. Apparently he can't take five minutes to touch up work that took him about twenty minutes or less to do to begin with. If you're looking for a good artist, give it a try. But if you're looking for good people that stand behind their work I'd move on read more

Well... I was extremely excited for my first tattoo, after a lot of searching and researching, I decided that I would come to Tattoo Haven to get it. I arrived at 10 am for their Saturday walk-ins, anticipating that I'd have my appointment by 12, I was the second customer on the wait list, was informed that I'd have my tattoo around 12:30... I have work at 2pm, so I thought I'd be cutting it close, come to find out they haven't started appointments and it's 1:45pm. I was told that I'd get a call around 1pm when walking in at 12:15 cause I hadn't received a call aswell. They have great tattoos, but if you're looking for a professional establishment who can hold a schedule, this one is NOT it! read more

I'm never going to try this place again. I called at the beginning of the week and asked when I could get in the said they only did walk ins on Saturdays but it was my only day off he said to get there right when they opened at 10:00 so I got there right at 10 went in and signed up for the walk in there were only a couple of people ahead of me so I thought I would only have to wait around for a little while. I sat there til 5:30 so 7 and a half hours on a Saturday. Wasting my day. Finally someone came outside and told me they couldn't do it today mind you that 2 of the 3 we booked solid til June and there was only one tattoo artist available so if that was what was going on I don't understand why they couldn't be upfront about it from the beginning. I even called at 2:30 and they said a couple more hours so I continued to wait. 10/10 do NOT recommend. I will never be coming back. Thanks a lot for wasting my time! read more

Honestly would never recommend someone here. They jacked their prices and only care about the money and not the quality of art. I got a tattoo done and paid for the full piece. I was on leave from the military and was told when I came back to the area they would finish the piece. I went over seas and when I came back they said that the artist that did my tattoo no longer worked there amd won't honor their word. Their owner Eric said that he would charge me 200$ to finish even tho I had paid the full 600$ already. But when I called on the phone they wanted me to come in and the man I spoke to said they'd do it because they wanted to honor their word and shop name. SO I SAY AGAIN DO NOT GO HERE BECAUSE THESE PEOPLE DONT CARE... if you want amazing work for cheaper with artist who do it for the love of tattoos go to lost tribe!!!!! read more
