They took photos of my teeth and showed them to me on a large monitor to point out where I had tooth decay. Since there were so many "cavities" they divided the work into two appointments. The first appointment was very uncomfortable, the dentist seemed rushed and didn't want me to swallow as often as I needed to. I was sick with a sinus infection and tried to cancel the 2nd appointment on the Friday before a Tuesday appointment over a holiday weekend. They were very aggressive about wanting to charge me for the appointment. I decided to get a second opinion and actually got two other dentists to look at the photos and x-rays and they both said the so-called cavities were only stains and natural wear on the teeth and did not need treatment. Sadly, I had already paid for over $2K in unneeded and uncomfortable dental work.

I got sick and rescheduled an appointment--something most offices understand. But not here. I then noticed I was being overcharged for a crown procedure and decided to cancel altogether. That's when things got ugly. I was hit with a $4,200 "cancellation fee" for a service I never received. Yes, $4,200. And then they sent that outrageous bill to collections, deliberately damaging my credit. All for being sick and standing up for myself. At first, Dr. Curington comes across as warm and friendly, but that quickly fades if you question a service or refuse a recommendation. Based on what I've read in other reviews since, I'm not the only one who's experienced this kind of treatment. In my opinion, her concern is not your care--it's your money. Her staff reflects this as well, using pressure tactics and intimidation that no patient should ever deal with. After that nightmare, Magnolia Ridge Dental stepped up in a big way. Even though Dr. Curington refused to release my recent X-rays, Magnolia welcomed me, got me in immediately, and provided top-tier care--at a fraction of the cost. I truly cannot thank them enough. Long answer: In any legitimate trade there are 3 levels of performance - professionals, experts, and masters. Dr. Murray is definitely a master at her craft and the best dentist I've encountered in 30 years and 7 states. Let's put it this way, when it comes to cosmetic dentistry, I would fly across the country to have her do the work because... 1. It's your face. 2. It needs to be the best the first time, so I'd rather be inconvenienced one time then going back to mend a professional's work. The tooth is the front left incisor so it's front and center every time you talk. I chipped it when I was 20 and the work was very good, however by the time I was 45 I chipped it again and I went through two other dentists who are professionals but they just couldn't get Humpty Dumpty back together. It kept chipping and the frustration kept growing until Dr. Murray stepped in. The fit-and-finish is perfect, you can't tell AT ALL, and the best part is she made it twice as thick and virtually bulletproof. I'm extremely confident to bite down and I can't say enough. In your mind you have the job you want done but you know it probably won't happen because you shoot extra high....and she hit that summit and surpassed it! The reason I labor the long answer is because that's what I like to read when I'm researching. Telling me that somebody did a "super job" isn't enough. I will say their estimates for costs have been more then a bit off both times in the beginning. We delayed both times due to what seemed to be way too high of a cost when quoted and asked if it was right . Both times they told us it was so we decided to wait and eventually we got a call or a requote that was much more reasonable. I'd like to think it was just a mistake and not an attempt to just charge more the first time. The care and visits have been good.
