Like the class and instructors but very disappointed in the customer service the owner provided.

Any business prioritizes money but, this location only cares about the bottom line. People are accounts not humans. I imagine that mentality starts at the top. EDIT/Response to Business: This review is definitely about Parkway Central in Arlington. Not sure why the owner wants to check my location & try to discredit my review. DFW is fairly large and blends together. I rarely bother to review unless I feel it's been an extreme disservice. I have no interest in further communication. You had plenty of opportunities to make things right. The studio runs amazing because of those doing the real work on the floor. You'll be fine. Just do better. Period.

I haven't lost weight yet, but I've definitely lost inches, and people have started noticing that I look more toned. That's a big win for me, especially since it's only been a few weeks. Just a heads-up for anyone thinking about joining: for the workouts I do, you're required to use their mat and towel. I saw that mentioned in other reviews before I signed up, so I was mentally prepared for the extra cost (about $100 for both). They were running a $1 enrollment special when I joined, so that helped balance things out. Everyone here has been super friendly, and I've had a great experience so far. I've already recommended Hotworx to my friends and family. Hopefully this review helps someone else feel more prepared too!

I didn't even realize how above and beyond it is until I moved away and had another place become my "home location". Christine and Will do SO much for their members. They really put effort into showing how much they care and they treat you like an individual, not just a number. They acknowledge your accomplishments with a shout out, they host events, they provide free samples from local businesses, and they always provide excellent customer service. They're just really compassionate & passionate people and it's very obvious they love what they do. That love pours over into how well the gym and its members are taken care of. I haven't found that in another location since moving away.

Instructors are knowledgeable and motivating. The challenges are fun. I look forward to class and try to attend about 4-5 times a week to the classic class. The employee at the pure barre told my wife that it's fine and that they would not charge her until she came back. My wife noticed last month a charge on our account that was from pure barre and then began to look back at bank statements and found they had been charging her for a few months. She reached out and was told they would look into it but would not refund because of miscommunication from their employee, aka their employee lied to my wife. We have not heard back and are upset that the employee lied about not charging us until she came in. We never received any communication that they would be charging us again or we would of went and talked with them as my wife has not been able to attend from the complications and then healing afterwards. This place lies and we would not recommend now to anyone and will let everyone know about this.

I just cancelled my membership so I feel like I can write a fairly accurate review. Keep in mind…read morethis is a review on the brand and the location. To keep from being too scattered I'm just going to list some different highlights of my experience. 1. You have to download two different apps in order to gain access to the building and schedule/place mark your classes. The brivo pass app to open the door, then the hotworx app to reserve a spot in the class. Why can't they combine this and have everything in one app? 2. To buy a towel and a mat is roughly $100 all together. You can rent one, which runs $5. You CANNOT use your own mat. Supposedly it will melt. Can't speak on the validity of those claims, but that's what they'll tell you. You HAVE to have a mat for all of the Isometric workouts AKA all the workouts that don't use a machine. 3. They advertise Pilates but it is NOT reformer Pilates with an actual machine; it's Pilates on the ground. To add to that, it was difficult to follow their yoga and Pilates program: imagine being in a downward dog position and then having to look up to the TV towards the ceiling for every position change to see what they were doing. That's the issue I had and it made it feel very ineffective since I was having to get out of position to look up to the tv during even slight position changes. 4. The sauna workout rooms are small. Thankfully I always timed it where I was the only one in the rooms. But if you're doing a HIIT workout using the machines in the sauna with other people, you will be very close to them. While dripping sweat. 5. I had an issue where I used my debit card to purchase a Gatorade and rent a mat for one of the yoga classes and the drink/mat rental machine put a $31.95 hold on my card, per charge. $63 total. So what should have been no more than an $8 charge (Gatorade $3, mat rental $5) had a $63 holding charge on my card. Thank god, after a couple days passed the charges dropped but if you were unaware and buying several drinks you'd be in for a real shock later. 6. The entire science behind HotWorx is sketchy at best. I was aware of this going into it, I just wanted a gym I could use the sauna at that didn't charge an exorbitant amount. I got my membership when they first opened so I was only paying a "founders" rate of $44 a month. If you do not have an Apple Watch or Fitbit you can enter your information on the app and it will tell you how many calories it's estimated you burned. After the workout there's an "afterburn" button you can click which will supposedly show you how many calories you burned after your workout. Do not trust these numbers. Please. At one point it says I burned 800 calories or something AFTER the workout. That's not how that works, and is really misleading, (you can burn *some* calories after your workout but nowhere near that high of a number). Unfortunately gym/fitness companies can make really crazy statements like that because there's very little regulation on claims. If you're interested you can do your own research. So onto my remarks about the actual location. It was always very clean which I appreciated, and multiple times I would see them in there sweeping/cleaning windows and just in general they really stayed on top of it. Since this is considered a "boutique" gym it would be nice to have offered some nice shampoo/conditioner/hair/body products/ towels or maybe some ponytail/hair elastics. Obviously not something I would expect from the local YMCA but when you're advertising yourself as a boutique gym you should have some nice amenities IMO. To end my membership I could either pay $90 and it be ended immediately, or I could terminate it with notice, where I essentially got two more months of use and had to pay out two more months. I went ahead and did the 2 month option since I didn't want to drop almost $100 right then. It did take me two visits to cancel it, as it required a manager and she wasn't there during the "staffed" hours. For anyone curious I ended up getting a membership at the local rec center. It cost only $50 for the entire year. It doesn't have a sauna but weighing the pros and cons it was a much better option for me.

I have loved going to hotworks for the last 2 years but this location is not my favorite. The staff…read morewas sweet and helpful, but never there. Trying to get ahold of the manager is very difficult. And there are a handful of fees that come.
