I've only taken the beginner dance class with coco and one other teacher, but love it so much I can't wait to learn more and eventually join the other classes. The instructors are so kind, fun, and knowledgeable that it feels like a friend is giving a class. My group of 8 girlfriends and I just celebrated a 40th birthday with a private dance class and it was absolutely wonderful. It was filled with laughs, music and a sense of accomplishment. Our instructor Faye was able to create just the right energy for most of us beginners to have a good time but still be challenged. I have been taking dance classes from Ginger for over 15 years. I love that Soul on Fire is her business and all of the amazing aspects from her classes are seen throughout the entire studio. She has hired some amazing instructors and everyone is very welcoming and supportive. The first showcase for the studio was a few weeks ago and I happily bought a ticket and watched the performances. You could see how excited the students were and how hard they worked. The instructors were amazing and there was some great choreography and the show was excellent. If you want to get into shape, learn some new moves, or just want to be around some supportive, thoughtful, and helpful people, try out a class. The app is easy to use and prices are great. Just go for it! This is one of those life moments you'll look back on and be glad you said "yes"!! My first experience: I was so nervous leading up to my first class (Beginning Burlesque). I had not danced since I was a little kid and was so nervous about not fitting in since I don't have a "dancer's body." I arrived early and as soon as I opened the door Koko and Ginger welcomed me in with big happy smiles and eased my nervousness. Then the class began and well ... it was one of the best experiences I've ever had! Koko was great at breaking down the movements of the choreography to where anyone from any or no experience could follow but he also made the class so much fun with just positive energy, silliness, and inclusivity! 8 months later - yes, I waited 8 months to do this review because you know, life lol Being a part of this studio has been so much more than I ever expected. Not only did it ignite my passion for dance, but I found a family I didn't know I was missing. No matter what class you take, you'll have a trained instructor who will be welcoming, funny and incredibly inclusive to make sure you feel comfortable. For those with limitations/injuries: Past knee and hamstring injuries mean I can't always move in certain ways but I really appreciate that every teacher has made modifications to their choreography on the spot so I can continue to feel confident in my movements. And it's done in a way that never makes me feel like I'm being singled out. If anything, they make it's so all students feel comfortable and will also ask for modifications when needed. If you've made it to the end of this long review, I hope you've read enough to be convinced to give this studio a try. My last piece of advice... go into these classes with an open mind, embrace the music and let go of anything holding you back. No one here is going to judge or compare you to anyone else. She was sure to check in on whether I understood the dance moves, that I was able to keep up, and if I had any questions. I love this dance studio. It's intimate, and everyone is so welcoming. I haven't danced in years, and the instructors were so supportive. I took a Balletesque with MysTery a few weeks ago. She definitely challenged me in the best way. Today I took Barre with Koko. I heart him so much! His energy is contagious. I've heard it said "dance like no one is watching" but why? I think you should dance like there is an audience, one that loves you and wants you to live your best life. An audience that appreciates leather, feathers and often lace. While we're are at it, that audience would make it rain if you were, let's say, take your cloths off. It's a really nice environment, dancing here was very nice, my only issue is that they don't have any morning classes which sucks because I really want to be part of this dance community and I usually can't make it at night for their 8:30 PM belly dance class, but overall if you can make work for your schedule, it's very enjoyable, and informative, I highly recommend. read more

I've recently started my dance journey. I am a complete beginner, so it can feel intimidating at times. I want to learn how to connect with my body better and feel more freedom when I move to the music. I started by visiting various studios in Orange County, joining classes to see how things feel. I feel like I'm learning a brand new language since choreography feels exactly like that for someone who is new. After joining Soul on Fire, I've realized what a tremendous difference the quality of instructors can make for my class experience. I've realized some instructors can be awesome dancers, but they lack the language/expression to translate that to their students, especially to novices like me. My experience at Soul on Fire so far has been completely amazing because of the quality of the teachers. All the classes I've been to are taught by instructors who gives EXCELLENT direction. I'm loving each class because of a combination of kindness, sense of humor, and ability to direct the flow of the class from each instructor.
