Got a 6-pack right before closing (8pm) and used their bathroom, which is quite nice. Maybe would have hung out but the kid refused to get out of the car. The space is pleasant. They have a large patio, but interior was a few older men who stared at us as we walked in. Bar is covered in plexiglass, music seemed pleasant, and the guy seemed nice. The beer ended up being really good too, so I would definitely come back here. They seem to be kind of hot shit locally because several liquor stores had their logo out front, 5x larger than any other logos. read more

Salida is the perfect town for Soulcraft brewing, because it reminds you to EXIT and have a bite/drink at Soulcraft. Located right off of Hwy 50, Soulcraft is easy to find. Just look for a packed adjacent parking lot with people coming in and out of an outdoor patio that is pet-friendly and peppered with fireplaces. Inside you'll find the bar with a good variety of locally made beer. I highly suggest trying their green pepper beer. It's flavor profile is fantastic and only mildly spicy, which makes for easy drinking with complex flavors. Another notable beer is the milk stout; it is amazing. Both of these beers might be in my top 10 beer choices (and I live in Portland; home to MANY amazing brews). Outside is their food cart. They have your standard drinking grub, but made very well and with local ingredients. If you can get there during their happy hour (3-5pm), then you can't go wrong with their HH menu. Otherwise, all of their food is fantastic. They have very tasty truffle fries, but I also wanted their fried pickles. The folks at the counter let me order half orders of each and both were fantastic. The staff that make the beer, the servers, and the food cart homies are all fantastic and helpful. This is a must-stop if passing through Salida! read more

Love the brews at Soulcraft and there is a new food truck attached to the brewery as well that has a nice variety of eats. We had been here before and the vibe this time around was definitely different - not the typical friendly vibe as previous. But, the High Vis, and Mexican Lager are usual favorites. you know, I wanted to like the place, and came here after having some of their chili beer up the hill in Sergeants. But the service was awful, which is hard to do considering the place was basically empty. Disappointed I left and went to Tres Litros. Now that, was a find. Very cool place, great beer, great music, and the staff was on point. I bumped my rating slightly (from 2 to 3) as the management was concerned enough to reach out and find out what the issue was exactly. Good stuff, and I will visit again soon. Again, the beer was great (I purchased from a vendor offsite) and was hopeful to enjoy it at the taproom, just ran into a bit of a hurdle when I visited. Seems this will be addressed. Wasn't a tragedy, but just a little hiccup anyone can make. The take away, as with any business, as I say about the businesses I own is this, "never make it difficult for your patrons, customers, or clients to give you their money". haha! Located off Rainbow Drive in Salida, lies this gem. This little place was bright, colorful and laid back. We walked in to large bar and were guided to order from the food truck outside if we wanted food and grab drinks from the bar. My husband got the XRay IPA. I am not a beer drinker but grabbed some of the pear apple cider. For lunch, we decided on the Cuban Sandwiches and meatballs. There were not a lot of people there for a Saturday afternoon but those that were enjoying it were basking in the beautiful sun at little tables that had individual fire places. Several dogs were hanging out with their owners. We grabbed a table and enjoyed the yum. Now, I will (and so will you) have to take my husband's word on the beer as I do not like beer. But he said it was delicious, cold and refreshing. The cider-was perfection, crisp notes of apples and pear married to give just the right balance of tartness. The Cuban was thick was melty cheese and crunchy pickles. There was a great amount of each ingredient on the bread which made each bite, just right. I ordered the meatballs-these tasted like there was a tiny Italian grandmother in the food truck making them fresh just for me. The texture and seasoning was absolutely just the way that a meatball should be. They topped these bad ass balls with pesto, marinara and some cheese. As with the sandwich, each bite was just perfect. The pesto and marinara were a spectacular blend of flavors with the meat. In all, this was a great experience, we will definitely visit again! read more

I love lemon flavored anything, including Soulcraft's lemon wheat. American style wit beer made with real lemon. Plenty of breweries attempt citrus in their beers but this is the first time I've been able to taste the lemon and floral notes without a heavy malty aftertaste. It almost transports you to a lemon tree orchard, complete with freshly mown grass and buzzing bees nearby. Unfortunately you can't take a growler to go. Otherwise I'd be exporting this stuff to Denver asap. read more

3rd stop in town, distancing good with 6 tables inside and a few more outside. however I had to clean my table and I never saw a table being wiped down at all-not good. Beer is fine. I've been here a few times. The beer is decent. The reoccurring theme I run into is they are dead by early evening and closed. Tonight I walked over from my hotel and arrived at 8:20 pm on a Friday night and all the chairs are up on the tables, about six people sitting or standing at the bar, and the door locked with the "closed" sign up. I have low standards living in Colorado Springs, but at least breweries stay open for their advertised hours. One time I was in and they were dead probably around 8ish but the bartender stayed open to let me have two beers even though she said she would normally close. It turned out to be a nice time as she was fun to talk to and the beer was good. I can't help but think this is a habitually conditioned scenario in which they always close early so people don't bother going later anymore. At any rate, it gives me the impression this brewery is kind of lame and I'm probably not going to bother trying to stop by anymore. For comparison , the hot springs still had a few cars and life guards on duty when I walked back to the hotel, so we're not talking ridiculous late night hours here. read more
