I have visited this studio a couple of times now during weekend trips to NYC and have had a great experience each time. Awesome location right next to Bryant Park and there is a Whole Foods conveniently located right across the street. Yes- a drop in will cost you roughly $36, but it's an amazing workout and you will feel like you can conquer the world when you leave. The studio is extremely clean and every staff member I have interacted with has ben very kind and helpful (shout out to everyone for helping me adjust my bike). Shoe rentals and Fiji water will cost you a few bucks but that's to be expected. There are more than enough lockers and the locker rooms are always stocked full of towels/ toiletries to freshen up with. My husband and I took Nicky's class yesterday morning and he did not disappoint. So energetic and positive...I will definitely be on the lookout for his classes next time I'm in town. Keep it up, Bryant Park!

This is one of my least favorite SoulCycle studio locations. If you read my other reviews, you know I am a big fan of SoulCycle and the classes, so this review is really just about the location as it is a much more of a commuters studio. The class and the staff here are still great and on-brand with the company, the studio is just not as adequate. The lockers are in one very narrow hallway, it is also where every waits before going into class so if gets very congested. The main area you walk into, has the check-in desk along with apparel is also pretty small, so not the best area to wait either. The women's bathroom here is pretty nice tho, the best part of the studio, and has all the extra amenities like all the other locations. There is only one actual cycling studio here. I'm sure most people who ride here regularly are people who work in the area, which makes sense why there is only one studio. I definitely recommend SopulCycle and the classes, maybe just not at this location if you don't ant to feel crammed!

My co-worker discovered that SoulCycle - not this location, but the company - was offering free classes for people attending SoulCycle for the first time. She was playing with the idea of doing some team bonding and with many of us frequenting the gym, we all agreed that this could be a fun outing. To get the deal, we created a profile and picked a time for our class and our seats with our instructor, Roxie. Reserving seats to worked out may seem ridiculous but in fact I think it's a great idea for people who genuinely like to be in the front, near the instructor or to hide in the back or sit with a group of friends. We were advised that seats run out quickly but we lucked out and managed to sit all together with the exception of our boss, who wanted to sit in front of us to "lead the pack". (He's adorable!) With meetings running over, the team sprinted over to Bryant Park from our office. I was running late as well, so I ran 8 blocks with three minutes to spare before the class started. With moments to spare, they let me in and asked me to fill out a form but since class was about to begin, advised that I could fill it out later. A nice guy asked me for my shoe size and gave me special spin shoes that connect to the pedals of the bike. He then walked me over to the lockers, which were placed on the side of this narrow hallway. The rest of the studio was like a railroad set-up and there was not much room for space and despite this hallway being close to the entrance, the guy advised that people do change right here. Thank goodness I had already changed before I left! Anxious on whether class had started, I saw two of my team members and we walked in together. The studio room itself was dark with red lights with music booming. It was like being in a club minus the alcohol, dresses and room to dance. Since we were assigned seats, I wasn't sure how to find the number. My boss pointed out the team to me but I noticed each bike did have tiny numbers labeled on them. There were members of SoulCycle walking around checking to see who needed help getting on the bike. I asked one girl to help me get on but instead of helping me, she asked someone else to. He looked like it was the last thing he wanted to do but he quickly helped me get my shoes in and fix my seat to an appropriate height after I had already done so. (I know how to adjust the bikes from taking spin before at my gym but, the shoe situation is something else!) After surviving class, I would not recommend anyone taking spin for the first time to take this class unless they already have a routine of going to the gym and have worked on building strength and endurance. The class is tough (but SOUL good!) and involves doing crunches, push-ups while spinning and occasionally switching the position in the handles to do so to the beat of the music (which actually made the moves easier to do and surprisingly helped with breathing). At one point, the instructor had us do push-ups while spinning with ONE HAND behind our back. Although she was pushing us she assured people that they did not have to do this if they were not 'advanced'. Towards the end, we worked with 2.5lb weights which are located just behind/beneath your seat. This allowed us to work on triceps, shoulders and biceps while spinning. I worked up an amazing sweat and the only terrifying thing to a spinner/avid gym goer like me was dropping the towel since I had no idea to take the shoes off or on the pedal - it's tricky! Throughout the workout, the instructor was loud when she needed to be in order to be clear on instructions, serve as inspiration and push us to trust ourselves to work at our best. Some instructors can be obnoxious but Roxie was amazing and very impressive working a room of about 50-60 people. (PS - she has amazing taste in music and used the lights in the room as a tool to allow us to cool down and keep motivated/alert.) I wish I could give SoulCycle and this location a full five stars. Knocked one star off as the studio is far too small and the location of the lockers isn't appropriate since it created traffic in the hallway to get to the spinning studio and ladies/mens shower/bathrooms. Another star was knocked off for SoulCycle's overall price range and the pack that you choose can actually expire. For example: 1 class is $34 and expires in 30 days, 10 classes are $320 and expire in 3 months while 50 SuperSoul classes cost $3,500 and expires in 12 months. This gives you an idea of what they offer but if prices and expiration days work for you whether financially or as a motivation that's great because they have other packs of classes available as well. Also, if you ever come to the Bryant Park studio, they have a mini boutique to the side of the entrance as soon as you come in. PS - Every Monday at Noon you can book your classes for Tuesday through the following Monday (it's like a mini bidding war). Hopefully my soul & I will be back one day.

Pre-pandemic, I'd take spin classes in-studio and then in 2019, I bought my bike because I loved the classes so much and wanted easy access to them. Peloton instructors are golden, once you find the ones that resonate the most for you (kind of like therapists). When the pandemic hit, in-class was suspended, teachers did their thing from their homes and so it went for a while before the new studio opened and then it seemed impossible to get into a class, so I didn't even try. Now that I've gotten in, I cannot wait to go back! The space is huge, with separate rooms for each class. I took both a spin class with Robin and a yoga class with Anna. Check-in was seamless, and as always, the staff is informative and accommodating, from check-in to locker room and classrooms. If you're looking to buy apparel, it's on the upper level past the locker rooms. There's also areas in which you can hang out before/between/after classes. Quick tips: I was worried I'd be stuck grabbing a bike that would be prominently on camera. I had no need to worry because those are highly desirable spots and people get there early to get their place in line and I observed those were the bikes that people grabbed first. The yoga studio is small, seven mats. It's a more intimate experience and Anna, who is so lovely, got to know everyone in the class and spent significant time afterwards for photo ops in the studio.

Their bathrooms are also roomier, where I didn't feel like it was cramped when moving about the area. Only downside was that there was no hot water in this location, however it wasn't too much of an inconvenience, as I was sweating a ton after the class to care. They did offer the showers at their nearby 19th st location that had hot water, but at the time, it was inconvenient to trek there in sweaty workout clothes. The staff here are not too bad. They're supportive and more than willing to help adjust your seat as well. I took a class here with Gabby A and her playlist had perfectly paced music that wasn't outrageously fast, so I felt like I got a good workout at my (beginner-spin) level. Check in is easy and staff are friendly. It gets very crowded fast trying to find a spot to sit and change shoes or get to a locker. Even worse when the next class shows up and you are trying to exit the studio and change shoes. There two single restrooms and a tight fit by the mirror once you step outside of a restroom. They offer hair ties, spray deodorant, Malin & Goetz lotion, ear plugs... fairly standard. There are no showers, but they noted I could shower downstairs at Pure Barre because they share. An employee helped set up my bike before class started. The studio felt like most crowded cycle studios in NYC. The air circulation wasn't the best and I noticed they kept opening the door every so often. A little distracting when the studio is dark but you periodically get the bright lights from the doors opening. Music wasn't really my favorite. Well, 110 degree heat index city days aside, I guess. Casey is a very good instructor--strong, intense, and ultimately encouraging, and a very inventive ride. The studio space is nice--three rows of approximately 30-35 bikes, which are new and excellent; great to ride, and easy to adjust. You need spin shoes, which you can bring (I brought my SPDs) or can rent theirs, I think $4. Locker areas are clean and more than adequate--a bit tight to pass through when others are down there, but ample amount of lockers overall. Clean, modern bathroom, with 2-3 showers if you need to (and you will, if not going straight home!) The workout involved light weight sessions and lots of mini push-ups and crunches owhile on the bike--I've encountered this before snd slightly prefer straight spin, but it's also a fine approach. The two things I didn't personally care for: (a) the instructor will go around and adjust your resistance. We were warned in advance, but I still didn't appreciate it. In my experience most people in spin are there voluntarily and want to push themselves. It struck me as unnecessary and intrusive, and (b) a bit too much attention to people staying in rhythm--on the same leg and on the same beat. Again, I appreciate an encouraging push, but ultimately people need to be able to keep their own pace as they are able while working out. I appreciated the tough workout and would probably come back (signed up via ClassPass to try it out). Not sure I'd make it a regular though, felt like a potential for a bit too much of a cult-y soul cycle vibe or even a potential drill sergeant vibe that I don't appreciate. Also not sure I'd recommend to a spin/cycling beginner.
