First, these are not audiologists, they are trained hearing aid "fitters". They are paid based on…read morecommissions, so you have to questions whether their focus is on getting you into the most expensive option or the best option for you personally. They claim to have superb customer service - that is if you describe having the hearing aid center open only two days per week great service. I now have to wait for two days to get my hearing aids fixed, unless I can find another office open that can see me and I am happy to drive 15-20 miles to get service. I guess it is not important to them that I can't hear well for the next several days. Everytime I go into the office, I have to remind them that they haven't checked my hearing in quite a while (no follow-up from them). Everytime I go in there is a different person there. There is no continuity of staff at all. I know that I will probably have to replace my hearing aids, but I will absolutely NOT go back to Miracle Ear, because to me it is a Miracle they are still in business. All the different ratings sites don't even mention Miracle Ear, and many friends of mine who are seniors like myself, have gone to CostCo where they have audiologists, and if it is open, they are open. A much better system, and their aids are about half the price.

My local neighborhood facebook group recommended a different location of CEENT but this one had an earlier appointment available with Dr. Baker, so I gave it a try. The building was modern and clean. The reception desk was a little weak on making me feel particularly comfortable and welcome as a patient but once called back for my appointment the nurse and doctor staff were very pleasant and professional. I also had a really good experience on the phone prior to my appointment ensuring that they accepted my insurance before I drove to the visit. Though I'd prefer a bit more of an intimate/small office feel for my regular eye doctor, this was still an overall good experience. Other than proximity to my home (using a closer CEENT office), nothing would deter me from continuing with services here.

My prescription (for reading) was only going in the lower portion of the lense. It was explained to me that was called a "progressive" lense...top portion has no prescription. I also needed new lenses in my sunglasses. I assumed the tech understood I wanted them exactly like my regular eyeglasses. Instead of simply saying that, she used other words when discussing the sunglasses. I still assumed they would be exactly the same. After picking up both pairs of glasses, I noticed the sunglasses were "blurry" when looking straight ahead. I knew immediately what happened. My reading prescription had been put in the entire lense. Not just the bottom. When I was finally able to speak to this tech, she told me I had to pay the difference for a "progressive" lense. Not for nothing, but I don't do this for a living. She does. Why on earth wouldn't she explain I needed a progressive lense in my sunglasses?? She didn't. She let me think my sunglasses would be just like my regular glasses! Then had the nerve to insist I was at fault. Sorry, not buying it! SHE is the so called "professional". If I only needed a reading prescription, hence a "progressive" lense on one pair of glasses, why would the second pair be different??? I'm waiting to speak to her manager when she returns from vacation. I do NOT recommend getting your glasses from here!

Having had excellent experiences at the Southpark and Steele Creek locations, I expected to be just…read moreas pleased at the Pineville location. I couldn't be more disappointed. The first issue was just making the appointment. I showed up, they didn't have me scheduled. What followed was so screwy and complicated I don't even know how to go into any detail without needing five paragraphs, so suffice it to say by the time I could show them the confirmation on their CEENTA app all they could do was try to fit me in. They did, but I felt rushed and the doctor and his P.A. seemed to be distracted by thinking of the next patient while they were talking to me. All of this was nothing in light of what happened next. I had surgery on my neck. The goal of the surgery was accomplished but the incision wasn't closed properly and I am left actually deformed. It's ugly and permanent and I will be self-conscious about it for the rest of my life. I understand that by the time it was discovered there was nothing that could be done to correct it. But they were so nonchalant about it and haven't seemed at all concerned about what happened to me. And it absolutely WAS the fault of whomever closed the incision (I don't know who, I was anesthetized). I followed post-surgical instructions to the letter. I even considered a malpractice suit, but that would accomplish nothing. This cannot be fixed. I want to repeat: I have had a more-than-satisfactory experience at the Steele Creek location and the care I've received at the Southpark location has been outstanding for the last ten years.

I brought in frames to have new update prescription lenses put in. They broke my frames. I was told…read morein May that they would repair the frame and replace them with the exact same frame. Today, I received via mail my broken frames with the broken nose bridge missing which makes it impossible for me to take them to a competent repair person. I have not received a replacement either. They stated that they are considering this case closed despite their promise to repair the broken frame and replace it.
