I have been going to Bert's store since his Palora location he is so mellow down to earth and has great prices ! If you like old stuff or new he has alot sometimes you just have to spend time and look at everything kinda like a easter egg hunt lol .he has incense selection ,CDs cassettes 8 tracks Vinal albums, 45 records and new posters and some head shop items. If he does'nt have it he can find it. read more

Owner was very helpful, and there was a lot of albums, cds, ect to choose from. when he didn't have something, he willingly ordered it and held it for you. Both new and used things, and mostly clean. Pretty good prices, some bins are 1$ and the rest are decently priced. Thanks Bert! read more

I love a funky record shop, especially when it's run by a cool old beatnik dude.. I have known Bert for some years now, and I love his shop. When I was blowing glass, he would always buy pipes from me, even if there was no space in his display case, and he was the only store owner who didn't complain about paying $10 for a nice thick inside out spoon. I believe that vinyl just sounds better, it has a depth of sound that can't be reproduced digitally, and ol' Bert is hip to this. He always has the best vinyl he can get his hands on, and isn't afraid to buy records from the riff raff either! Bert, if you're reading this, I love you and your shop brother, keep up the good work! I always find unexpected vinyl treasures at Sound Attitude. I've been to various record stores in Northern California, but none of them come close to the variety and genres represented here. Owner is delightfully eccentric and always has great information and stories about music. Employees are friendly and helpful. I noticed other reviewers mentioned the records are disorganized - this is only true for the "bargain bin" stuff (free and $1 records). Yeah, you read that right! They really have *free* records! Half the fun of record shopping is finding a gem of a store like Sound Attitude with someone as authentic as Bert! If you want sterile shelves with Adele records: go to Target. 3 of us went last Friday: my friend bought 2 new records including Michael Jackson and Bob Marley while i thumbed thru the $1 boxes and found 4 including: Steve Winwood/Arc of the Diver, Focus/Live at the Rainbow, Rossington Collins/This is The Way and Ric Ocasek/Beatitude...while Bert thoroughly entertained us with stories about head shops and defunkt record store chains that he has outlived! My 4 $1 records were super-clean and i havent heard a skip so far! read more

Best spot in Yuba City for vintage music, and amazing service. Every time I get a few bucks to spend, I go here to grab a cool old vinyl to add to my collection. The owner is an awesome old dude that knows his stuff. Ask him about the "Butcher Cover" on the Beatles "Yesterday and Today" album. I think he has two... Otherwise, start digging for some hidden gem in the crates, and remember to keep your eyes open. I don't think even HE has been through them all yet... read more

Head shops that do business in a small town are often uptight and uncomfortable and tend to disappear without warning. Sound Attitude has been around forever, and Burt and his family are about as laid back as possible. If you've ever been to a head shop, then you know what to expect. Used CDs and a surprisingly good selection of used DVDs (most of which you would actually want to watch), a good selection of incense and some typical counter-culture gear. Oh yeah, and pipes and bongs. Prices are decent, they could be higher considering how pathetic their competition has been in the area. Nice people, not looking to rip you off or make you feel weird about picking up a nice pipe and a Frank Zappa CD. If I had one criticism, it's that the new merch like band posters and the like don't seem to be maintained and updated like they should - but in this economy I can forgive a small, family-owned business for something like that. I'm in Sacramento every day and this is the only place I go to buy gifts for my more twisted friends, and that is the best endorsement I can give. read more

Love this shop!! The owner is super chill and friendly. They keep it REAL. I like they have music as well as the glass pipe... Great selection of music I always find something unique wether its a triple blown glass spoon or heady tunes to jam out to while I work. I love this store. The owner Burt is friendly with an eclectic taste and appreciation of different genres. I have found a number of obscure heavy metal records and oddball compilations at reasonable prices, that would likely be twice as much on discogs or ebay. I no longer have to drive all the way to Sacramento to scrounge through their few remaining record shops. read more

Great little low key shop off of the beaten path in Yuba City. Great place to crate dig and score records for very reasonable prices. The owner is super nice and chatted with us for quite a while as we shopped. We make a point to stop here when we are passing through town. read more
