Great work and customer service - order schedule and work was done quickly and with happy results

When this place took my tint off, they left on some of the tint I had to send it back to have it removed for a second time. No loaner vehicle offered to me but offered everyone else in the building. I asked sales rep to record level of tint before removing so I could have my vehicle look exactly the same when I had it put back on. When I came back two days later to have my tint put back on They had not recorded the brow on my windshield that was removed. This really wouldn't be a big deal if anyone there had shown any kind of cumstomer service or courtesy. Neither the sales rep or manager had the basic decency of "hey sorry about that. Here's what we recommend for the brow." The manager on duty didn't acknowledge what I was saying at all - literally. no general apology, no suggestion of a tint color, no goodbye when I left. Just like they clearly don't care if you go there for tint- I definitely do not mind going somewhere else to get it done. read more

I had an aftermarket piece of equipment that I needed to remove from my vehicle before a trade in I contacted sound effects and I spoke to Bryson he had stated that would take them about 2 hours to remove it and it would be $300 he demanded a $100 deposit to hold the appointment. I went to the shop at the appointment time it took them 2 hours and when I was called to check out I was told it would be $300 I informed the gentleman that I had already given $100 deposit he then proceeds to tell me that it was 2 hours and their labor rate is $200 an hour the removal was a simple task and I was definitely ripped off I highly recommend you avoid this business at all cost. These guys are total crooks and scam artists read more

I needed a new head unit installed in my car that I had bought myself and I was in search for a place that could do it for me as I am not the best with that kind of stuff. A few friends recommended this place so I gave them a call. Needless to say I was not disappointed. The sales manager Scott set me up with an appointment after stopping by and letting him see what he would be working with. He was able to get me in within a week and when the day came, it only took about three hours as my car isn't the easiest to work with (G6). I am extremely happy with the results! The head unit was put in properly and everything works and sounds great. All the staff were extremely nice and down to earth. It's a very chill place. A little pricey but you pay what it's worth. I went to sounds in lewes delaware and purchased a gift certificate for my 17year old son to have a radio installed as a Christmas present..$250 I supplied radio and installation kit and wiring harness. My son picked up his car on his way to school the technician never screwed in the under dash panel and it fell off while my son was driving and blocked the brake almost causing him to have a motor vehicle accident. I called in advance to make sure I didnt need an appointment and was told to come right in there were plenty of staff to help me. When I got there, they were obviously understaffed and I would have to wait. I never did see anyone but they took my email address and told me someone would contact me by email. That never happened. So I thought i would give them a second chance, drove back and actually met with Bryson. Told him what i wanted for my jeep, we even went outside and looked at his truck to discuss what he did vs what i wanted. He wrote it all down. A day or so later, i did more research on line and sent an email to Bryson with specifics about what i wanted. I never heard back. And I will never go back. read more

My girlfriend purchased a home in Georgetown that had equipment installed by this company prior to her purchase of her home. My girlfriend and I have been trying to contact the home entertainment division of this company for at least 5 WEEKS with no response. Both of us have tried endless phone calls, left emails, went to the store twice, and left our contact information repeatedly to no avail. I even tried to use this company's chat line. When I did, I was told at least twice that someone would contact me. After no response, I went to their location in Lewes. The manager for the car department tried to reach someone at the home entertainment division but could not reach his own home entertainment department via phone. I was also told by an employee at the car department that the home entertainment department was next door but that it was not open to customers (what company does this?). If I could give this company zero stars I would. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

well if you like to roll up your money and toss it into a fire place then this is the shop for you! They wanted 3 times the amount of money as their competitors to put in a car stereo head unit. I think they must make money off people who just don't spend the time looking around and don't know any better. It was a total waste of a trip. I suggest going any where else. I have never even heard of anyone asking the prices they do. I would have laughed if I didn't spend 45 minutes going there. Guess Ill just go to best buy it cost about 60 there (and thats pretty expensive) compares to the $135.00 I was quoted at SoundFU since it took about 15 minutes last time I had this done and I even have all the parts and basic leg work done this time! I figure for the same price I can ask my Doctor to do it. read more

I've been acquiring additional electronics for my cars since FX opened it's door in Lewis DE. quite some time ago. I only have the highest praise for this group of professionals. They can take one of my older cars and bring them to date with modern electronics. Remote starts, Bluetooth, wired radar detectors, sound systems any many more options you never knew you had. They get it done on schedule and on time. When I began, I used to deal with Brain, one of the owners. Now I deal with Scott Thomas, one of the car service managers. Scott has never let me down. Hired them to mount my TV over my fireplace. The two techs who came to do the job were great and did good work, but the charge was exorbitant. Nearly $600 for the cost of the mount and 1.3 hours of labor. I really regret not shopping around and suggest you not make that same mistake. Update: They initially charged me for 2 full hours of labor when the techs were in my house for an hour and twenty minutes. They told me after sending me the invoice that they charge their labor only in one-hour increments. After much back-and-forth, they finally agreed to lower the labor charge to 1.5 hours. I don't know whether they've changed their policy on how they bill for labor or just made a concession to me, but make sure you know up front both the rate you'll be paying for labor ($190/hr in my case) and how that labor will be charged; i.e. rounded up to the nearest hour, half-hour, quarter-hour, etc. I also suggest that if the work is being done at your home, you get documentation of the time spent on the job before the techs leave. If you need tech skills to set up a home theater system, these folks probably have the chops, but if you just need handyman-level skills like I did, you can probably do better elsewhere. read more

They called the company and sent upgraded replacement to my shop of choice since i no longer was convenient to the area. Needed a new head unit for my Jeep, and after a bit of research Stereo FX sounded like a perfect fit. Couldn't be happier with that decision! Came in and was pleasantly greeted by Scott and explained I thought water shorted out the head unit and also in need of new front speakers. A lot of stereo places in the past immediately go for the top of the line expensive products. Scott gained my trust immediately by going with the one of the lower priced one, but didn't have all the functions I wanted in a Jeep (gauge displays, tire pressure, load percentage, etc). Great recommendation for the next step up, and price was no way a deal killer. So set up the appointment and was kept up to date every step of the instal. We have been using Sound FX for our home and outdoor living because of their great knowledge , products and technicians. We recently purchased a travel trailer with two flat screens installed by Camping World, but could not make it work. We contacted, Jason, in the Home Entertain Division, who called Justin for us. Justin Smith, took the time to come out, get both TV's up and running for us.....And, then spent the time to educate us on the " how too's and what to do's" for when we arrive at our future destinations. o do, And, because we both lack the tech gene, was so patient with us so we could write down all the steps.
