Manny did a REMARKABLE job on our wedding day, and anyone who doesn't get on their calendar would be missing out. We initially hired him because he was on the list of our venue-approved DJs. There was a long list, including companies with flashy names, or a whole stable of DJs, but we asked the venue coordinator who was the most FUN, TALENTED, and KIND dj to work with. He literally didn't pause before starring *Manny at Sound Illusion*. We met Manny over the phone and he was instantly the right energy that we knew would take care of our full age range of guests while keeping it really fun for us. He was extremely organized with forms where we could write our exact music requests, had phone meetings with us to verbally talk through the whole day and make sure we were all on the same page. He also was always happy to suggest music, etc, if we weren't sure or didn't have a strong opinion. On the wedding day he DELIVERED. The way he transitioned songs to keep the dance floor going for FIVE HOURS, he hosted our Shoe Game, gave guests a slow break he sensed that they needed and then got guests literally running back to the dance floor the rest of the night. He was also the NICEST human being. We heard stories that he has literally given a speech at weddings when the best man got nervous and left, helped host a wedding when the bride/groom and family didn't show up from the ceremony location, and so much more. I am so thankful to have Manny Dj/MC my wedding! I emailed him about a quote and he got back to me right away. The whole process with him was so smooth and easy. We talked on the phone and I felt as if I was talking to a family member because we were just laughing so hard and even found out that we live down the street and around the corner from each other. lol. Manny is amazing! He went above and beyond! Everyone said how fun our wedding was, and that was in large part due to Manny. He kept the party going. We all loved how he dismissed tables to get their food by making them sing a song with love in it. Manny DJed our June 16 wedding at Leo Carrillo Ranch and came recommended by the venue. We planned our California wedding from Boston and Manny was wonderful to work with considering the challenges of planning from afar. We were super concerned about the DJ keeping things classy; Manny understood and delivered exactly on our expectations, which is a testament to how flexible he is. We used Spotify to share our wedding playlists, which Manny re-ordered into the best flow possible for both dinner and dancing. We ended up giving him final song selections just a few days prior to the wedding and he was completely organized despite this! He also did the audio for our ceremony which was flawless: perfect volume (everyone could hear and no one was getting blasted at high volume), no feedback, mic pops, etc. The most wonderful surprise was that after our wedding he sent us the audio of our ceremony recorded directly from the mic! Manny took careful notes so as to understand the timing of everything and pronunciation of names. He also made suggestions for the order of events (first dances, toasts, etc.) which was so helpful. We asked him not to make a lot of announcements and he was great about it -- he got people seated for dinner and dismissed tables for the buffet by personally going up to people rather than announcing over the speakers, which felt much more personal and was exactly what we had requested. He collaborated with our other vendors seamlessly and we have all of them to thank for a day without a single hiccup. We feel so lucky to have been referred to Manny and to have hired him to be the DJ for our daughter and son-in-law's wedding last weekend. He was so attentive to our needs and requests and extremely flexible with changes that we made up to the last day. He came to our home twice to meet with the family to tell us what he offered and what we could expect. He had regular email communication with the bride and groom and with me. We really had no idea of the wide-reaching responsibilities of the DJ. He was very easy-going and always willing to listen to what we wanted. Throughout the whole planning process he offered us his expertise on music selection, lightning, games, and even gave us input on our reception itinerary. Out of all our vendors we worked with, he was the most willing to meet up in person and make sure that we were on track for our wedding day. After we booked him for our wedding, we were very surprised that he also DJ'ed for a few of our friends' weddings. They all spoke very highly of him that he did a great job on their wedding night by keeping the crowd entertained and staying on schedule. Manny was referred to us by a friend who's reception was dj'ed/mc'ed by him. After speaking with him on the phone- his funny and caring demeanor immediately put me at ease and right away I knew that I had wanted him to take care of our reception. After getting an amazing quote from Manny, we decided to book. Manny responded quickly to all my questions/concerns whether it was via text, phone or meeting. Due to my schedule, I was barely able to meet with him physically, but he was so accommodating when we did meet and would even accommodate me in doing phone meetings. I'm surprised that Sound Illusions does not have more reviews than this. I would rate him as a 10+ stars if I could. Manny was such an amazing presence at our wedding that my husband and I would absolutely think of him above all other DJs for any future events we may have! As a bride that got married during holiday season last year, I figured finding a great DJ that was available during our weekend would have been difficult to do. With Manny's help, the DJ and emcee process was a breeze. We first found Manny as he did another of our friends' weddings. When they say the DJ can make or break the wedding, Manny definitely made our wedding an awesome night to remember. We were told by many guests that our wedding was one of the most fun ones they've been to. I can guarantee that Manny played a huge role in being able to make that happen. I contacted Manny for uplighting for my wedding. I was blown away by the attentiveness and professionalism that he displayed. He's very prompt to return phone calls and to meet with you to review items and details. This was unlike other wedding vendors who were often very slow or didn't ever reply. His prices were also amazing. At first I was just going to do uplighting but with his quote was able to have a personalized gobo for our wedding as well. Other companies quoted me anywhere from $500-$1000 for the same services. When speaking with our guests after the wedding, everyone of them has brought up the DJ and the fun atomsphere that the MC Manny and his crew created. All the guests were incredibly impressed with Manny and enjoyed all the games and activities that Manny played with the guests to keep the ceremony moving and a lot of fun. Being a planner, this book was very helpful. When meeting with Manny before the wedding to finalize the script, Manny went through every single detail with great care. We had various song requests and little stories that went with them. On the day of the wedding, Manny included all the little details and stories (there were quite a few). Guests were easily able to request songs. We used Manny for both the ceremony and reception. He even attended the rehearsal to help go over the details and practice. Where do I start with Manny? I met him and his team during a bridal bazaar and immediately knew we wanted to hire him as our DJ for our 3/30/13 reception. Manny and his wife were so great! To be honest, we were very overwhelmed at first after booking him 5 months out and didn't start thinking about music and all that until we had 3 or 4 weeks to go. Let me tell you! Manny was fantastic! He helped us through the whole process and helped us decide music and had fun ideas for the reception. Our custom floor monogram and gorgeous uplights were the perfect touch for our night time reception. His wife manned the Photo booth and she was so kind and patient with everyone. The amount of props they had was phenomenal! They also also gave us a CD with all of the guests pictures from the photo booth! So fun to be able to view all of those. We found Manny through our wedding venues list of preferred venders. We got married in September at the Kona Kai Resort & Marina in Shelter Island. From the very beginning Manny was very professional, organized, confident, personable, and just overall had a great personality. Best of all he made us laugh, which is something that made him stand out among his competitors. We knew then that because of him our wedding was going to be a blast for everyone, and that it was. Manny met with us multiple times throughout our time with him which also made us more comfortable and reassured us that everything would go smoothly. He was very flexible and open to hearing our ideas although he had a ton a really great ideas and recommendations of his own which really kept the party going smoothly and kept all my guest entertained. After all he does have over 20+ years of DJing at weddings so his experience was also a big plus for us. My guest would not stop complimenting us on how much they loved the DJ. Manny made our wedding amazing in so many ways, he wasn't just a DJ that played great music, but he did amazing job with the up lighting, and was a fantastic announcer throughout the night, even with tricky hard to pronounce names. We mostly loved how he didn't just play great music but that he kept my guest involved by playing various interactive games; i.e. The shoe game, the kissing game, the anniversary dance, a trivial questionnaire about the bride and groom. Of course this was something we felt was important to us for all the guest to get up and dance and be involved. So if that's the kind of DJ you are looking for Manny is the perfect fit and I would highly recommend him for not only weddings but for any other event.
