When it was time to plan my own wedding there was no competition. Even when I shopped around initially out of curiosity, Concepts pulled through with best price, best inventory and best customer service. They are so accommodating and responsive with every request. I know that when I put in a call or email to their team, I will get the change adjusted and confirmed by the next day, if not sooner in a few hours. I want to start by saying that the staff is a PLEASURE to work with. Everything was organized & planned in advance . The responses to emails were prompt and professional. I can say I did not have a worry that anything would go wrong on my wedding day. They also have so many options to choose from in their show room for any event size or theme. What I did NOT like was that the items we rented were not in the greatest condition. The white lounge chair seemed to have dirt in the upholstered buttons, a lot of the Chiavari chairs had scratches on them and many of the ivory chair pads were dirty or stained. I have attached a photo . After spending the money I was disappointed somewhat. I understand these are rentals but I felt better cleaning could have been done or newer equipment could have been used especially once product starts looking old. Over all my wedding day was beautiful, I just felt the items that were noticeably damaged did not add the delicate touch I was looking for. I used Concepts Event Design for lighting and table / chair rentals for my wedding. They were accommodating and professional and really helped bring my vision to life. The team met me at the venue on two occasions to discuss design details and run lighting tests. The ghost chairs made such a visual impact and the lighting really helped transform the venue in to exactly what I had imagined. Pros- They are very nice! Everyone I worked with here was very sweet and they definitely don't try to upsell you. For example, when I asked about needing chargers the owner honestly told me that my venue has great chargers and there is no need for me to pay extra and rent them. That is great business as it creates trust. The linens were also beautiful and though I didn't look around, I feel like their prices were reasonable. Cons- I had to use them since my venue required it. They did not have many options regarding chairs. However, the worst thing would be their communication. Every time I called I always had to leave a voicemail. I would call in the middle of the workday and still only get a voicemail. My messages were returned weeks at a time. One time they called me three weeks later just to ask if someone had returned my call. Then there was a mix up with my order that thankfully was discovered a few days before the wedding. Communication is so important when you have a business. It can create a lot of stress when you can't get through to someone. read more

I initially wanted to meet with Concepts Event Design because they were highly referred by a friend. Concepts Event Design provided the linens, chair covers, and event decor for her wedding. Though I commend them for the beautiful work that they did; I, unfortunately, was not pleased with my experience. I had scheduled an appointment to meet with them to discuss options and what they could provide my fiancee and I for our wedding reception. Wedding planning is time consuming with scheduling appointments with several different vendors. I had set aside time to meet with Concepts Event Design only for them to give me a quote, which they could have easily just given me over the phone. I love working with Haydee. I met her back in 2004 when the company was Concepts Party Rentals. For my wedding, I rented tables, belly bar tables, umbrellas, chairs, and linens for my wedding reception. It was was a big order as I had 800+ guests. She was easy to work with and everything was delivered in a timely manner. In 2005 my sister got married and I suggested she use Haydee too. Again, it was a pleasant experience working with her. I used her a 3rd time when my sister and I threw a 40th anniversary party for my parents. This time I ordered linens, silverware, plates, champagne glasses, tables and chairs. I also have to say that her prices were better than the other local companies I looked in to. I sent a message through the company's website inquiring about renting a dance floor in a couple weeks. I was amazed that I received a phone calls within 3 or 4 minutes of sending the message. It was so nice that Haydee remembered me after 5 years. I will tell you that this place is not for people who are looking for something cheap because this place is FAR from that. The linens I was looking for months and months she had! So they laid out the color of the table cover and complemented it with a brown napkin nicely folded as well as the pole and curtains and the design was complete. The guests at the party loved the entire setting and it was definitely a hit. I will however agree with some other reviewers that they do push you to use there chairs or plates or any other products they have. I have attended several events where Concepts Event Design was either showcasing all they can do for your wedding, ceremony, celebration or whatever other happy occasion, as well as I have been seating in one of those magnificent tables nicely put and set. I think they have a great taste, everything is elegant and festive and good quality materials. Last time was some weeks ago at bridal bazaar I went with a friend who wanted to check how to organize her wedding, so she knows I will tell her my honest opinion...and honestly they seem to be doing great job just by the samples I have seen. Concepts is an incredibly professional rental company to work with and we had such a positive experience using them for my big day! I along with my mother collaborated on design ideas for my wedding and Concepts was able to help us finalize the exact vision we had. I ended up choosing them as my vendor for rentals due to their great pricing and professionalism. They also have a wonderful showroom in National City that made it very easy to go over ideas and come up with final decisions. I was an out-of-town bride as well and they helped accommodate me by sending photos of things we needed to revisit/relook at when we weren't in town. We were also lucky because Concepts and the florist we used, LaVonne of Adorations Inc., had worked together before and the two connected often to keep things organized and flowing. The only bump if any in our process was we did start with one contact, Tiffany, and ended up finishing the event process with Cathy, who was super helpful and reachable. There were a few things we had to go over again with the change but it all ended up working out just fine! Do not use this company if you have a choice! Unfortunately we did not have a choice, as they are contracted through our vendor, who I think might be reconsidering keeping them on. You will never deal with the same person, so they dont really know what was discussed with the last person you talked to, and dont ask to speak with the last person you spoke with, because they are always unavailable. I would send them emails with very specific details and they would continually get things wrong. This happened several times. I was emailing so I had everything in writing, but finally after so many screw ups I called to make an appointment to go down there so that in person I could spell out everything, so that they would stop screwing up. When on the phone, I explained all the screw ups, which this girl first tried to blame me & when I kept pointing out everything was THEIR mistakes, she was immediately full of excuses & never took responsibility that the company screwed up, nor did I ever even get so much as an apology. Even the manager knew & she acted like nothing ever happened while we were there. The worst part is that they send out bad products to the customers. I cant tell you how many chairs were falling apart and broken, and there were several damaged cushions. They also did not send the right tables for the design we had created & it was left to one of the hotel workers to jimmy rigg what we had to work with. Its sad that a company gets paid for bad merchandise and for you doing all the work because they aren't capable. You have been warned! read more

We used Concepts Event Design for our wedding after having checked pretty much all the wedding equipment rental companies of San Diego. They were in our opinion the best. Tiffany who helped us, has very good taste, knows very well all of the products they have, and always answer emails very fast compared to other companies... One thing is that their furniture is very nice and not tacky. For example we used white lounge sofa and compared to other companies, these lounge sofas from Concept Events were looking way nicer in terms of quality and aspect, didn't look like a cheap random white sofa from walmart. Same for their charger plates, they have a great choice, and we used the Reef silver charger plate, no other company had these charger plates or had them in that large quantity (175), their silk linen was great too. And importantly the price was fair, especially compared to other companies that quoted us way way more for something of a lower quality. We also used the large LED cubes to go with the lounge furniture, and they were so cool! In conclusion I recommend everybody to go with Concept Events for their wedding furniture, lighting, etc... you won't regret it, and go take a look at their showroom asking to see Tiffany, she'll be so great to help you! We are disappointed by the $1200 high gloss white dance floor. The size that was recommended did not match the venue space as it visually looked small in comparison for 135 guests. The worst part was the white dance floor was completely scuffed up by the time the newlyweds did their grand entrance and it shows in all of the professional photos. The communication process was mediocre given that there were inconsistent contacts resulting in repetition which was time consuming and challenging as we were based in northern California during our planning process and unable to visit the showroom in person. read more

My fiance and I recently had an appointment with Concepts to check out some lounge furniture for our upcoming wedding, and the whole experience left a pretty bad taste in our mouths. First, we had an appointment for 10am, which we were told was the first appointment of the day. However, when we showed up right at 10, the woman (I don't remember her name) was already meeting with another couple and we had to wait around for about 20 minutes. It became clear to me why she was ignoring us for the couple without the appointment- the other couple was interested in spending thousands more than we were. Call me old school, but I thought the hallmark of good customer service is treating all clients with respect, regardless of how much they're spending. My fiance and I looked at each other and said "If she's not done meeting with them in 5 minutes, we're leaving." Fortunately the other couple left only a couple minutes later, so we decided to keep our appointment and see what Concepts had to offer us. Imagine our surprise when, during our consultation, the same woman took an "important phone call" only to gossip/gab on the phone for another 10 minutes! Look, I get that it was a Saturday and events were being set up so "important phone calls" might happen, but that phone call was totally not a work related call! As far as the products and services offered? Turns out we couldn't even view their lounge furniture collection (the only reason why we wanted to come to the show room). Instead, we were pressured into linens and napkins and chivari chair rentals, even though we indicated we already had those items for our wedding taken care of. The woman asked us, "oh really? what kind of chair covers does your venue have?" And when I responded that I couldn't remember, she told me, "well, sounds like they must be really ugly!" and proceeded to try and sell me on linens. And finally (!), when we asked for a printed quote for lounge furniture, she gave us one that was missing a lot of information. As in, there were straight up blanks left in the space where the price of a certain piece of furniture should have been. So our "final price" quote was drastically inaccurate. When it comes to planning our wedding my Fiance and I made the decision to spend our hard-earned and saved money on only local vendors/businesses, but this is definitely one occasion where we will be looking into OC/LA-based businesses to provide the lounge furniture rentals we're looking for. read more
