Last time four years ago I left a five star review. I been a customer around 15 years. Since the owner Dawn retired this broker went straight to the gutter. As of late my insurance has tripled and the broker told me to basically suck it up and pay the bill. (2024) That she was not going to discuss where we could trip the fat because my one man company had gone bankrupt. They were charging me $33k a year. I switched to AmFam and right off the bat we got a trim and saving of $6k. If the owner of PHE wants this review removed get me a refund on the Travelers policy back to May 2025. Get an adjustment on the 2023-2024 contractors insurance policy as my company took a $300k decrease in income. Because that insurance was based on previous years earnings.

We have been with American Family insurance for a few years and insure four vehicles, a house and…read morethree boats. On September 13 our boat sank at the marina and we immediately contacted American Family. We reported the sinking and then attempted to contact our local agent Tim Lopez, Gig Harbor, WA but American Family forbade him to talk to us. The boat remained underwater for over a week before a salvage company was available to raise her. American Family has refused to cover any expense during the salvage operation or to mitigate any environmental damage or help protect the vessel from further damage. Why? Because they want to collect premiums, not pay out on claims. Approximately, two weeks after losing the boat we received four like form letters that identified the claim and offered to replace our child restraint seat, totally clueless concerning insuring a yacht. We had to burden the cost of raising the boat, some $24,000 and counting. The USCG issued us a warning letter about diesel fuel in the water and the Department of Ecology is concern about the environmental consequences. In the meantime American Family has not done anything to help us and is looking for a way to deny the claim. Ironically, three weeks after losing the boat they assigned a Claims Investigator/Marine Surveyor to inspect the boat on October 6th, timely? He offered no explanation for the boat sinking but agreed they was nothing we did to cause the accident. After one month and counting we received no response from American Family. We have secured an attorney and filed a complaint with the Washington State Insurance Commission who gave them until November 6th to respond. Do not insure your boat with this company because they are incompetent when it comes to marine claims and the many issues involved with the USCG and Department of Ecology.
