I am on the 402 coming from Meridian, the 2 o-clock bus #10190. My stomach is currently having difficulties and I aked the driver for the garbage can just in case. He says "doesn't matter where you throw up I still have to call and change the bus over". I say "so you'd rather me just puke on the floor", he says "it doesn't matter either way it goes". So I guess he also doesn't care if his co-worker has to clean it up and cost the company additional labor. I'm about halfway to my destination and I'm pretty sure it's gonna happen. Constant delays or drivers skipping their stop time. If you have important meetings or commuting to work, it's a gamble. Also, don't risk it with late night bus rides from Seattle. It could be super late or skipped where you wait at really unsafe bus stops for over an hour. read more

I mainly used Sound Transit's public transit system to get to and from the airport to downtown Seattle. It was quick, convenient, and had regular departure times. The cars could be cleaner though. They have these older seats covered in cloth that are worn and some with stains as well. read more

My experience would've been fine, but they really have bad service. I was stopped multiple times for no reason for being suspected of having "suspicious items" I also accidentally left my ID on the train, and the Sound Transit customer service basically told me to fuck off. I know drivers are humans and humans are different but this is something else, there is a particular bus driver who is a lady, and always seems to be irritated by her profession. I have been in the bus no. 5 she drives from Shoreline Community College in the mornings at 10:12 quite a few times now and she shows that she is rude and she is to be honest. Once she didn't open the door for me while it was raining cats and dogs outside, I mean I could have waited staying inside right??? She knew I am all wet still didn't open the door. I'm a 63 year old man in a wheelchair . On Saturday the 11th Sound Transit decided to clean and polish the ONLY working elevator at the U District station ! The south elevator has been out of order since May 9th !!! The cleaner even after he was told that the only working elevator was the one he was cleaning still told me that I had to wait for him to finish before I could get to the platform to continue on my trip to Bothell. At one point he told me that if I did not leave he was going to call the police on me !! I told him to go ahead and then I said I would call them myself and I went outside and at 45th and Brooklyn I found 2 police officer and told them about the situation,. One of the Officers came back with me to the station and asked Sound Transit to let me use the elevator , Sound Transit said no . So it seems that Sound Transit is more concerned about cleaning and polishing their elevators then in getting disabled peopled onto their trains . There is a LOT MORE , but that's just SOME of what happened to me . So , I'm going to filing a ADA complaint against Sound Transit . read more

Reliable transportation to and from the outlying areas to Seattle. This review applies to the Sounder Commuter Rail (train). Good tip is to make sure you print the train schedule, show up early enough to buy a ticket and get parking. If you are going to King Station in Seattle, you do have an option to take the FREE shuttle bus so you don't have to walk if you don't feel like it. On dry days, no problem but when it is pouring out, why not get on the bus? The problem is making sure you take the right one of course so ask the driver before you board. One thing I found is that you are screwed if you want to get back mid day as the Sounder doesn't run between 9 AM and 3 PM so keep this in mind. Also, don't try to be a freeloader and get on without paying as they do go and do ask to see your ticket and it is about a $124 fine or so. I believe if you purchase an Orca card (prepaid), sometimes your employer will reimburse you for a commuter program. The average price for a one way is about $3 to 4 one way. Also, the inside of the train is well kept but a bit cramped for tall folks with long legs. Some sections have a small table that you can place a laptop or other things. An overhead storage shelf can hold small bags to help free up some space. Go to soundtransit.org if you want to look up their train schedule and other transit services they provide. read more

Excellent bus system! Maybe I am giving 5 because I am visiting from San Diego and we don't get THIS! For $2.5 get a bus from Seattle airport and in an hour reach Bellevue with all the scenary of peaceful trees? Not in a dream! I always have to take Supershuttle in order to not incomodate anymore. And here for almost nothing you get a nice trip and save gas and money! A friend of mine living in Bellevue recommended to take the bus this time, so I followed instructions (you have to make sure you don't tkae another #560 that does NOT go to Bellevue but another location. It is same bus number but it changes. Driver was very nice and friendly explaining how to insert the money in the machine and apologizing, yes, apologizing to the passengers because there was a bump on the road and we had some agitation. Never seen this before. Bus very clean and new, and people very normal, which is a rarity in San Diego, sorry to say, but you only get strange looking passengers in the buses there, so most people opt for the most expensive options in order to avoid meeting people they don't want. Super helpful! Tonight there was a tree down on Redmond Way and Supervisors came over and walked us to Redmond Transit Center, where they coordinated for a new bus to get all 10 of us. For the most part, I like Sound Transit. Taking the express buses sure are nicer than the Metro buses. Plus the Central Link train makes getting to and from the airport easier. Not for me as I am Eastsider, but definitely for Seattleites. Generally, I use Sound Transit for trips from the Eastside to downtown Seattle. Sure beats paying the high parking prices or putting in change for the parking meter. Wait times typically are either 15 or 30 minutes for me which is not too bad. And the ride is generally pretty smooth and actually might be quicker when considering the time spent on finding parking. I just have to watch the clock I guess. The only thing that bugs me is this Orca card system. I know it was put in for some sort of reason to do with organization. But I would rather pay with cash and get a transfer stub, then having to always refill this card with money when I want to take a ride. It also seems this system discourages frugal travelers from taking Sound Transit considering there is no paper transfer system anymore. Without the Orca card, you would have to pay for each bus ride outside of the Seattle free zone on Sound Transit. Metro still provides paper transfers but they are not transferable to Sound Transit. I like Sound Transit, but I am just not down with the Orca card. It is a downright confusing system the government paid a lot of money for. read more

I stopped riding Sounder trains for a couple years because every month I'd get stuck on a train for hours because a homeless person would be asleep on the tracks or someone would light a fire on the tracks or someone would drive their car into the crossing. So today I thought I'd give them another try. Guess what? STUCK AT THE KENT STATION for the next hour because Sound transit can't or won't take responsibility for protecting their tracks during commuter times. After just being in New York and riding a very efficient system, I wanted to recall a trip recently taken on the Bus & Sounder commuter train. For fun, yes FUN, we took the commuter bus south from Everett to Seattle for shopping in the International District. Save gas, be a passenger, all the good points of pubtranspo, eh? Riding south, I verified with a nice man in a Sound Transit embroidered fleece the cost and frequency of evening trains. He was sitting at the stop riding the bus as well, and very helpful. The bus ride was fast, albeit a tad bouncy for non-bus riders. This was a double-length bus with the center that twists for even more pleasure. There were only 3 stops, and I have to admit we got there much faster than driving in rush-hour traffic. The bus was clean, smelled like lemons, well-lit and temperate for a sunny day. It dropped us near 4th Ave, where we got our errands done and arrived back to the train platform to buy our tickets from the automated machine. I guess I looked lost, as commuters looked grumpy & annoyed I was just standing on the platform. Laptop bags smacked me repeatedly, as it is apparently not common to say "excuse me" when someone is near you or in your way after you have put in a crap day at the office or in your starbucks apronage. sheesh. A kind platform worker approached me and asked if he could help, and I was so relieved I almost hugged him. He pointed me toward the ticket kiosk and confirmed that I knew the trains ran on time, so please be here when it leaves. I purchase my Northbound tickets very quickly with a credit card, and waited patiently as the droves of frowners & gripers flooded through to get on their choochoos. The conductors answered train questions and apologized when one of the trains accidentally blew it's monster horn while sitting there. Everyone jumped, as apparently that is not allowed. When our train pulled into it's space, I recognized the driver way up in his shiny cockpit - it was the helpful man on the bus ride down. Not only does he ride the bus to work, he drives the freakin' train! Give the man a baby tree and an 'earth loves me' pin. We got on the train, sat on the upper level amongst the gaming, reading and ipod commuters. The train engineer we met came down to check passengers and we said hallo. The train was clean, well-lit, comfortable and has a bathroom. A honk and loud jet engine noise and off we blasted. Amazing views of the sound the entire trip north perfected the day. Seeing parts of the coast you drive past and never experience is delightful. Fresh views on where you live are priceless. An even faster trip than the bus north, and we were plopped 50 feet from our gas-guzzling vee-hickle. Take a friend, a book, a camera & try this sometime. Friendly drivers goa-juss! Sure, I'm fresh from being spoiled for five years in New York, where trains run 24/7 and scale up or down depending on the level of need. But what Sound Transit is doing to north-end commuters is ridiculous. I have regularly taken the Sounder train to work and back since last December. Since then I've seen Sound Transit cut the late train route home (no more 6:30 pm out of Seattle). And while I've also seen ridership go up and up and up on the north line, Sound Transit has been ignoring it. And from what I hear from fellow commuters, the train cars on routes have been dwindling. Standing room only on the north bound 4:05 pm out of Seattle is the common experience, not the exception. There are four northbound Sounder trains from Seattle to Everett. All of them in the afternoon. The last one is at 5:35 pm. (This doesn't count the two "Amtrak" runs that you can take - one in the morning and one in the evening -- but they cost you extra and are not covered by the Orca card. Work meeting runs late? You're screwed going north. So why am I giving Sound Transit the review now? Less than 24 hours after my last tweet asking for more cars on the 4:05, Sound Transit makes this announcement: * Starting Monday, September 12, the number of cars on Sounder North trains will be rearranged. In the morning the trains getting into Seattle at 6:44 a.m. (train 1701) and 7:44 a.m. (train 1705) will be 3 car trains. The trains getting into Seattle at 7:14 a.m. (train 1703) and 8:14 a.m. (train 1707) will be 2 car trains. In the afternoon the trains leaving Seattle at 4:33 p.m. (train 1702) and 5:35 p.m. (train 1706) will be 3 car trains. The trains leaving Seattle at 4:05 p.m. (train 1700) and 5:05 p.m. (train 1704) will be 2 car trains. These changes could last up to six months. Sound Transit is a wonderful thing and I'm hoping it just gets better around here. We especially need MORE TRAINS!! The drivers are always friendly and helpful, the vehicles have wireless access (most of them) for free, and they're usually on time. I dinged them a star for being 50 cents more from Eastgate to downtown Seattle at the morning rush... and it's even worse because that bus stops on Mercer Island and the Metro bus does not. But on the whole, riding the bus here is way more pleasant than doing so almost anywhere else. read more

Regarding LINK Light Rail communication & Rider Alerts... ...D+! They do provide decent Email Alerts for delays and incidents, as well as over the PA in stations... sometimes not all stations get announcements, though and some audio issues arise every now and then... "The next... will... arrive in...... minutes." "For your s....please stay....'hind the yel.....ne." During this recent snow system(s), their website's Rider Alerts DID NOT mention anything on Central LINK... just the stupid Tacoma LINK. Jacked up, yo. The website is simple; how the fudge can you not keep that updated with Riders Alerts? And when the train operator announces departure from Seatac station, they should make it so you can hear it from the Mezzanine below, as well, and NOT JUST the train platform. Also, the elevated Tukwila portion is way more shakey than Singapore's and Vancouver BC's elevated trains. .... and stuff. read more

Simply awful. The tracking website has a schedule of busses, but many of these simply never appear, leaving you stuck out in the cold. Complaints are ignored, bus drivers will full on tell they don't care about the schedule and the tracking app is full of lies. I would give this outfit 0 stars if I could. read more

Bus routes are poorly planned, sometimes the scheduled bus never comes and you just have to wait for the next one and try to explain to your boss. Busses are cleaner than King County transit (not hard to do). Be early for your bus. They tend to leave early and if you're on time and the doors are closed they refuse to let you board, even if they're still at the curb. read more

I ride the 512 to and from Seattle almost every day of the week. I work retail so I ride it mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. Its ALWAYS FULL!!! to the point where the driver often has to deny access to people because we're all packed in here like a bunch of sardines. I don't understand why Sound Transit doesn't add more busses on nights & weekends if it is continuously full. Very frustrating. read more

I love sound transit! I frequent its Express Bus and Link. I have to say they both offer fast services and their vehicles always seem clean. Some Express Buses can be late at times, which can be disappointing because the trips are often longer than usual. So if you have an important meeting on the eastside or westside or need to travel long distance, give yourself enough time for travel. The LINK is also the best way to travel to Seatac airport. Unfriendly driver and poor integration with the TransitGo app. I can't believe the app let me buy a bus ticket from Seattle to Tacoma Commerce Street, yet the driver on my return route wouldn't let me board with my activated ticket. There's no way to undo activation, so i lost $2.50 and then had to purchase payment in cash. No change is available so i lost another $5. I asked the driver for a receipt. He was unhelpful and rude. I reached out to their customer support on their website and twitter, and got no response. Why don't you have an integrated transit system? I travel frequently and have never had issues like this. read more

Love the convenience of the Sounder train. But... Trains are often overcrowded... canceled/significantly delayed trains due to mechanical issues. Fright trains have priority, another way to delay your arrival.. Poorly trained personal. Trains often overshoot the station and have to backup. Sometimes going back and forth. Ridiculers issues... If you have monthly pass and forget to scan your Orca card you still get a ticket!!! You get 1 warning a year but then get a ticket in the mail. What about all those times when trains were cancels or delayed? No, you don't get compensated but don't you dare to forget to scan that ticket. read more

They dont care that i am late everyday for work. They say they will inform their supervisor but nothing gets done. Tired of the inconsideration. This is the 522 to woodinville.
