Today, i went to this business to program a viper remote and another car remote.Peter,the technician was very nice; he programmed the viper remote in minutes and said that he would not charge me for it. He spent considerable time finding a locksmith for me to program my car remote. Unfortunately the locksmith was a thief charged me over $100 even though he could not get remote to work. I bought a stereo and a rear vision camera. The camera went out twice and the radio keeps switching back and forth to the blank camera screen. This happened after a few months of purchasing it. They refused to replace the radio and told me they have to remove it and send it upstate to be repaired which could take over a month. They claimed to order me a new camera but never got a call saying it came in. Stay away from this place. Shady, non professional installation too. My truck was back here 4 times and I dropped it off at 9 am and since it was just something they weren't getting paid for and something they had to fix they kept my truck till closing at 7 pm. I told them I work midnights but they could care less. Customer Service Lv.9001 (thats over 9000). These guys went above and beyond to help me set up my fiancé's Christmas present. Same day installation just a few days before Christmas and they helped me get the car back to Mavis Tire Shop (where she thought it was all day getting the brakes done) So the service was amazing, and dont get me started on the price... Lets just say Best Buy was selling a remote start with basically the same price FOR ALMOST TRIPLE THE PRICE PLUS INSTALLATION FEE! And they couldnt get it installed for weeks. Before posting this, I emailed the link on their website to discuss. Matt replied once, to ask my car year and model, but after my reply and giving these specific points, he did not reply again, so I must presume that there's no intention to make this right. I am posting this only after taking my vehicle to a competitor who performed top notch work, and told me how they were amazed at the shoddy installation performed by Sound Waves. I had purchased a complete Alpine system, including head unit, power amp, sub, spending roughly $1600, about 2 1/2 years ago. The head unit never worked properly, with a loud pop once the vehicle started, intermittent and intense 'sqawking', bluetooth never worked right, and the sub and amp were just laying in the rear of the vehicle, unsecured. I brought the vehicle back one time, about a year ago, and they supposedly went in to evaluate and correct the various problems. I was told they would do right by me and get Alpine to send a replacement unit - they never called back. I'm not complaining about that as it was past warranty, but he never called back to tell me one way or the other, or to offer to send it in for repair. As far as the actual install, here is a synopsis of what my new installer said: Sound Waves installed my Sirius antenna out the side window (it is now properly centered on roof) Sound Waves installed Bluetooth mic in wrong area Wiring for steering wheel control and head unit was done by SoundWaves by stripping the wires and twisting them together - they were not secured with a proper technique, so that my new installer said the wires pulled apart with a light pull, which probably contributed to the steering wheel controls not working right (which we complained about when we brought the car back for evaluation, after the initial install... the guy in the chair said after keeping the car for a full day, 'everything's fine' Sound Waves did not ground the system properly which contributed to constant popping sound, such as when the key touching ignition switch, and/or using autostart, and other times, again which we complained about, but were told they couldn't figure out why. We had an amp and sub installed with u, neither were secured in trunk. I didn't know, until going to real professional store, that I should have expected the amp and sub securely mounted. The new installer was astounded, and said it took him 10 min to make L brackets to center and secure the sub,and said the loose amp was dangerous if the power cord got hung on something. as a final note, while at SoundWaves the first time to buy, and the second time to get the various problems fixed, I was constantly hounded by several guys trying to sell me tints. Really annoying. So, I suggest you go elsewhere, these guys do not do a professional job, they don't back what they sell, they don't communicate (especially when things don't go their way) and their competitors consider their work to be shoddy. First off I made an account on Yelp just to try and help anyone out there that is thinking of going to this audio shop, read this first. I would definitely not recommend this audio shop. The people in the audio shop recommended and sold me a sound system that they knew was going to blow out. If they didn't know it was going to blow out my $500 subwoofer that I purchased then they are obviously not professionals. They sold me, built a box for and installed a subwoofer and amplifier that were suppose to be compatible and work together. The whole system cost me about $2000. Within a week my subwoofer was smoking and didn't sound right anymore. When I brought it back to them they sent it back to the company that made the subwoofer and said it wasn't under warranty because the subwoofer was blown due to excessive power. Now why would they sell me and install a subwoofer that they should have known was going to be overpowered by the amplifier that they installed and blow up. I went ahead and bought a better subwoofer for now $600, that subwoofer was fine, the one they should of sold me in the first place. They sent my other subwoofer back to the company that made it and then when it wasn't covered under warranty I just wanted my subwoofer back. I went back and forth with them for a very long period of time, I went in there many many times and they just avoided me. Finally about two years later I am finally hearing from them about my original subwoofer. Now they are charging me $75 to get my blown subwoofer back in the long run.
