First, I find the Yelp page seeing other great reviews, some of the best ones around the area, and with due merit. So I decide to go to the store to get an idea of what we can do. Come in the store, and speak with Joe. He's very friendly and professional, knowledgable about the products in the store, and was great to work with regarding my budget, the sound I was looking for, what packages were available, his recommendations, and also a few other mods I wanted to get done. I was interested in adding a light-bar to the roof-rack, so we chatted about it for a bit, and he suggested Rough Country, which was affordable compared to other light bars, and looked great, he said they could install it if I were to purchase and bring over to them, sure, no problem. The package included were speakers in the front and back, tweeters, a down-firing 10inch Sub, Amp, Knobs, Wires, and other equipment. I wanted to check out the equipment before install, and then take factory speakers home with me, also, no problem. In email communication you speak with everyone, Rich, Mike, Joe, and whomever else works there, it seems it's a community email and they are all on the same page with what the customers are looking for, so they are aware of any changes, mods, or interests the customers are looking to get done. The job itself took about 1.5 days, drop off Thursday morning, Pickup Friday night, and they were very busy with people coming in with crazy cars, high class cars like Roadsters, Mclarens, and others. I felt more comfortable seeing extremely expensive cars being worked on while I was there, knowing that these folks trust Central Sight and Sound with their cars, and I do as well. When I came for pickup the car was ready, Joe went over all the additions with me, showed me where buttons were installed, amp, and other equipment lived, and I had some questions he answered for me. Small update: I…read morehave had my eye on a Viofo - cam for quite a while. They can be expensive, so I waited for a sale. The particular unit that I purchased has a head unit which captures the road in front of you. It has a indoor unit that captures the cabin of your vehicle and it has a rear camera that mounts on your rear window for the back of your car. This means of course that you have the main unit, but complicates things because you now have to have wires going to two other cameras. As a side note, the indoor camera probably seems like overkill. Usually people that carry passengers like taxes or Uber with get that for safety. But let me tell you another benefit. The camera captures a very wide angle like a fisheye. What does does is and not only allows you to see what's in the cabin but also slightly out the windows. So if you happen to be driving and get sideswiped or even stop by an officer anyone comes to your window, you will be able to capture that as well. What's even better is that this camera will record in multiplex so you can see all your cameras in one footage. Let's say you have an accident and people try to say you were on the phone. With one video file you can see the outside of your car and the inside. You can use footage to prove that you weren't on your phone when the accident occurred. Biscuit also be powerful in court if an officer is accusing you of something. After my purchase online, I bought the camera and a hard wiring kit to venue Sound. I win at 1:00 in the afternoon on a Wednesday without a appointment. I was told I could get done today and they did. From start to finish it probably took about an hour and a half. I am pleased with the fit and finish. My unit is hardwired into my fuse box. The wires leading to the unit are neatly behind my roof headliner. If you value your vehicle, please don't bring it here. I've had three different cars worked on…read morehere, two of which have come back upwards of 10 times in the past three months. One of which was brand new off the dealer lot. Head-unit screens turning on and off, sound cutting in and out, incessant hissing, broken and damaged interior pieces, bent door clips, uninsulated wires left touching bare metal. You name an issue they caused it. This shop to put it politely has an elementary school level understanding of physics, the concept of Ohm's law is lost on the two individuals who work here. I will not claim to be an expert on these topics but the people who are working on the complicated the electrical systems of modern vehicles should be and I'm telling you these guys aren't it. For example, everybody from DIYer to professional mechanic knows you should remove the NEGATIVE battery terminal first before performing electrical work to avoid damage to the sensitive computer controlled electronics in a vehicle. These lovely gentlemen A. Don't do that and B. If they do disconnect your battery out of necessity to install an amplifier, they remove the positive terminal only, risking short circuiting your entire vehicle. The amount of uninsulated connections was appalling, wires with no insulation left dangling just asking to touch bare metal and potentially damage the vehicle. On an amusing note, their use of car audio jargon is just a poor attempt to confuse and mislead you in to buying more upgrades or services from them. Don't fall for it, they don't know what half the words that come out of their mouth mean. The owner referred to the amplifier turning on and off causing the sound to cut as clipping when that's simply not what clipping is. There are countless examples of this nonsense that I've observed over the past three months, please don't fall for it like I did, save your money go else where, or hey use it an excuse to learn a new skill. An amateur can do a better job than these guys. They'll upsell you or deny every issue they cause: Hissing? At first "oh that's normal" and then "oh you need a new head unit" Steering controls not working? a new module Amplifier turning off randomly? You need a new amp and wiring Broken plastic? "It happens your just obsessive" The funniest proposed solution has to have been using an official apple charging cable as if that was going to solve the kindergartener level internal wiring job done to my poor cars. I'm sure the owner will reply to this with the a high school flunky level to attempt to discredit my character and claims but I welcome it, I've included pictures of some not all of the disastrous things they did to my car. You can judge for yourself who's right. I'm normally understanding when it comes to professional work not turning out the way it should as I realize it can be complicated but this is over the line. I'm waiting patiently for the "well you had these issues with one car before us", a boldfaced lie, my head unit rebooted once or twice in the year I've owned it before bring it to this place and the other car was brand new with less than 500 miles on it. In our final interaction, he told me I was obsessing over small details and kicked me out of the shop saying "your done" like I was a child he was reprimanding. I don't think wanting your sound system to work 100% of the time and not wanting your interior damaged with super glue, adhesive, wire strands and broken plastic is obsessive and I think most people would agree. Learn from my mistakes, and spend your money elsewhere.

Looking on the web, I found these guys and gave them a call. From the moment I spoke with Adam, I knew I had made the right decision. He was polite, professional, and spoke in that way where you know he was listening to what you needed. On the phone, he quoted me a fair price for the install. By fair, I mean a price that is balanced between making sure you aren't being ripped off, but also a price that reflects the quality of the work you expect to have. Plot twist: this Pioneer unit was to replace a seriously-aged Kenwood aftermarket unit in my car that was installed by my vehicle's previous owner. To my surprise, Adam accommodated me for a same-day installation. Your mileage will always vary. I must have called at a good time. I had a consultation with Adam when I arrived. He asked me some questions about my vehicle, and the Pioneer unit I purchased. He was satisfied to know I had done my research and bought the right cables and wiring. He even saved me some money with a cable or two that I ultimately didn't need! Through my observations, it was clear that Adam and his installer have a great partnership. It took them about 2-3 hours for the installation, which I thought was fair. I didn't mind any added time because they accommodated me on the same day, and I felt that any time needed was fine as long as the work was quality. When it was time to pick up my vehicle, Adam took me on a small tour of the unit. He knows his stuff! He watched as I set up wireless CarPlay, chose a good radio station or two, and let me sit in my car and fiddle with the new controls until I felt totally satisfied with the job. After my classic Mini's convertible top shrank and suffered vandalism, I bought in an overseas…read morere-skinning kit that I quickly realized was more than a DIY project. Classic Leyland Restorations in Prospect, CT (who have done wonderful mechanical and bodywork on my Mini - I highly recommend them as well), recommended AutoMat. The owner Tim provided an estimate around half the price of two other shops that I had approached (one very far away in PA) and could schedule me in just a few weeks. The final cost was higher due both to reinforcements/padding they applied to prevent the frame spines from tearing the new skin, and their decision to remove the entire frame from the roof of the car, but it was still less expensive than other shops. And their customer service is top-notch - they even gave the car a courtesy interior cleaning and gave me a lift to the train station after my first attempt to pick up the car. I say "1st attempt" because the top wasn't 100% right at first - the new skin looked great, but the mechanism was binding when opening and closing. But they worked on it further and I was happy with how it functioned when I returned again to pick it up. Verdict: Skip the other shops; Go to AutoMat - they do great work!
