Strike 1: I ordered a Parrot Bluetooth system and they said they'd call me when it was in. 3 weeks later I decided to check in and Danny said "Oh sorry. I was on vacation and didn't realize you'd ordered it from ____." (Can't remember the other Guy's name.) Strike 2: I had Danny put in a Sirius system that I took out of another of my vehicles and explicitly told them not to connect it though the FM tuner but to make sure they hard wire it either through the CD or an aux port, since the FM tuner always leads to reception problems. What did they do? Connect it through the FM tuner and of course it sounds like ass. Strike 3: When I took it back to him today to fix the problem, he ignored me while he was talking to someone about re-doing parts of the office(at least say "I'll be with you in a minute." It's called customer service douche bag). Then, when he finally turned around, he asked me to wait with the car so he could eat. No worries Danny. I'll take my 3 vehicles elsewhere, and hopefully this review will save others the pain in the ass problem that you were to me. Congrats on getting my first negative Yelp review. read more

I always thought this place was called Sound Station, so please note the name. Anyway, after a disappointing experience with the Sound Man down the road, I came here to discuss Soundsations installing Sirius Satellite Radio in another car of mine. I like options and I like knowing what I am going to get. Right away, the owner answers every question I have. He also tells me about options I did not know I had. He told me about custom mounting brackets that he could order designed specifically for my car. I decided to have him do the installation. I was very pleased to say the least. Everything was installed perfectly, the mounting bracket made the satellite receiver look like it came with the car. He also tied the system in with my radio via the cars cd changer, something Sound Man said they did not know how to do. The antenna failed after 6 months, I bought it in and they changed it out for me for no additional charge. This was not even their fault. I was so pleased I had them do an installation on another car of mine. Again, everything was great. The only drawback is that they are generally busy, and promised completion times were way off. I ended up leaving the car about twice as long as I had expected. The tradeoff was that they took their time and the quality of work showed. read more

A short while ago I bought a little used ACURA TSX for one of the kids to drive for college and part time work. Well although I hold a high regard to ACURA and HONDA automobiles, this little TSX wasn't exactly taken care of very well. Low and behold my visit to to Soundsation. Outside of a few other items needing attention one of them was the sound system. The problem was well basically there was no sound when we tried to play music or do anything else with the sound system. When we bought the vehicle it had sound but oddly enough about 1 week later the sound would cut in and out intermittently until finally... there was no sound at all. As if it disappeared in the wind. Well so like as I normally do as a good consumer, I looked up car audio places on Yelp throughout the LA area and came across Soundsation. I had already done so research to troubleshoot the problem so when I explained it the folks at Soundsation they're response seemed to correlate with some of the possibilities. It was the amplifier. Soundsations took out the amp, showed me where the previous owner of the car must have spilled a beverage in the center console pocket and soaked the amp. I'm surprised it worked at all. The cost to replace it was more than reasonable. They did the work quickly and they didn't try to sell me a whole new stereo system like many other audio places I've worked with in the past. I have taken all of my car audio work to Soundsations (not Soundstation as one jerk called it) for the last 8 years. Located in Old Town Newhall, the main thing that takes away from this business is the lack of appropriate aesthetics of the building. But this is more a result of difficult City ordinances than it is a testimony against the business. The best part about Soundsations is the reasonable price of the car audio/video installations. Danny, the owner has beaten the estimates I received on 3 separate projects by more than 25%. That's huge in this business where margins are slim due to the ease of installation of most new cars and car audio systems. Be sure to ask for Danny personally and you may want to know or even have purchased the products you want before you visit. Hopefully the business will add an updated showroom in the future. That and the lack of aesthetics force me to hold back a star. I started going to Sound Sations because Ford / Chrysler sends all their car's there. That alone should tell you something,. So instead of getting ripped by the dealership I bought my own audio package in. Danny installed it at a fraction of what Chrysler was going to charge. I've been in a couple times for some tweaks and he has never charged me for it. I recently bought a new car and had a Parrott installed whichI bought from Amazon and it has sucked from the beginning. Every time Parrott sends me some new piece to install to "fix" the problem Danny will replace it with no charge. I didn't buy the unit from Danny but they continue to make adjustments with no extra charges. From the moment my car was dropped off you could just see everyone was coming up with the how to's and what would work best, but they still listened to what I was hoping to achieve and then based off that, made their suggestions for what would be best to accomplish it, even though I wanted a minimalistic/clean look which turned out perfect. Great shop that can fix anything messed up by the other guys. We brought a brand new YXZ 1000R, off road UTV, so whatever they were to install had to be able to take a beating, withstand dirt water and any other elements that are thrown at it. They did a great job and it sounds great. The custom boxes in the rear are metal and you wouldn't be able to tell. They had them Linex to match the roll cage and they don't move or clink on a bump, no metal sound whatsoever. The front speakers are out of your feets way and in no way bother or hinder the driving ability. My favorite is the sub. They were able to stuff a 10inch amp under the drivers seat and still allow the seat to move forward and back. Overall, the bike sounds amazing and crystal clear. They were able to hide everything in this machine with virtually no space. read more

I went to soundsations to have a reverse camera and monitor put on my 26ft box truck. When I arrived I dealt with Justin. I already had the camera and monitor so I was only paying for installation. Justin went on to tell me how they charge by the hour and this job could take all day. $100 an hour don't let me forget. He wasn't lying when he said it would take all day. I bought the truck in at 9am and didn't get it back until 5:30pm. He charged me $700. So paid and left, stopped to get gas put the truck in reverse only to discover that the camera cuts off when it's in reverse, the very thing I took it for. They took so long installing it to begin with that they are saying bring it back in the morning. My truck is my job and the took a whole days work from me installing the camera and now tell me to waist another day for their mistake. Fine. So I bring it in this morning and Justin couldn't even say good morning. The fixed the problem in ten minutes but offered me no accommodation, and the boss couldn't even apologize. I wonder if it's because I'm a black man? Besides the poor job they did I also got a racist vibe. Mistakes happen everyone makes them. But when running a business if you are going to practice poor service and price gouging, you should at least be responsible for your mistakes apology and make it right with the costumer. These guys are horrible and I would not recommend that anyone spend their hard earned money with these crooks. read more

Went back to see Danny after remembering what he did for me seven years ago. My subwoofer amp kept dying on me and then when my subwoofer eventually blew up, I replaced it myself. The problem of the subwoofer dying on me continued and then I realized that it was due to the subwoofer amp nearing the end of its life. So I called up Danny to set up an appointment to replace the amp. When I got to his shop an hour and a half late (I did call to let him know that I was running late, and he told me it worked out better for him because he was running late himself, so told me not to worry), he still took the time to show me all the options and recommended a JL subwoofer amp that would be a great match for my new subwoofer. He also told me that he would ensure that I installed the subwoofer correctly by the checking the wires, recharged my batteries to full again and then filled the tires that needed some air. The installation was quick and his team ensured that the system worked flawlessly after the work was completed. I was glad to see that Danny was still in business after seven years and that he was now established in the area and known for the quality of his work. Brought my car at 9:30AM Saturday (opened at 9AM) Danny advised it will be done mid-day. 1PM passed by and no call at 3PM I decided to call to check progress. Spoke to Danny and told me that my car is next to be inspected. 5:30PM still no call and they close at 6:00PM. I again decided to call... guess what nothing was done to my car. I wish there was a way to give this place 0 stars. I scheduled a maintenance appointment with Soundstation on Friday morning (2/21) for a next day appointment. I drove (28 miles) to Soundstation for a help on this time sensitive situation the next day. When I arrived I was told that they were unable to work on my car because of a billing issue. I asked the employee when did they receive the information and was told that the email was sent at 4:45pm Friday, after they were closed. I ended up turning around and driving home (28 miles). Their website states that Soundstation closes at 6. This information was confirmed today (2/25) with a Soundstation employee. Because of their neglect, something that should have been a $60 maintenance check on Saturday became a $250 tow and $80 reset today. After confronting the employee regarding the hours of operation and the apparent cover up I was told not to come back. Everyone has their opinion but judging by the majority of the reviews, I am not alone with regard to the professionalism of Soundstation's employees. I recommend that people should stay far away from Soundstation read more

Went here for car stereo alarm, looking for 6 disc changer with touchscreen, Bluetooth, etc. He gave me some prices of a couple that I was interested in , then continued to tell me they no longer make 6 disc changers, although....he was taking one out of his existing Silverado and he would sell me his for 500.00. I thought this was absurd and very unprofessional to try to sell me your used unit for 500.00, I was interested in the Kenwood unit there, he was asking 1199.00 plus a 300.00 installation charge....I went to Santa Clarita auto sound and looked at same unit and they told me there was a 200.00 instant rebate on it which made it only 999.00 with FREE installation, which Sound a station never offered. so I had it done there and went back two days later and had the same one installed in my other vehicle.... Would never step foot back in Sound station, they are a big time ripoff! read more

I installed a Jenson stereo into my daughters car and needed a wiring harness plus an antenna adaptor. Danny was helpful and had the parts in stock. As I did more research before I installed the stereo I found out that I needed a special module to keep the OnStar working. I asked Danny about it and he said the one he sold me should work. Any way I returned the harness but had to go back twice because no one knew how to do a refund. They ended up mailing me a check. read more

Not often that you give a 5 review when they couldn't fix my problem...but listen. I have a 2008 Lexus LS, where the radio had a malfunction (the bass/treble were all pegged one way). Took it to the dealer, they said, well we need to replace the head unit for $2,500 then we'll replace either the amp (another $700) and/or the radio (another $1,100). So I say, nah, never mind. I get a referral to go to Soundsations. I go in the first time on a saturday afternoon, they drop everything, and try a few simple things, resetting the radio, pulling the battery cable, then they start pulling and doing some testing over the next 1/2 hour. They suspect it's the amp. So they suggest bringing it in on a weekday so they can pull the amp. I bring it in a couple days later, they pull the amp, and send it to a repair place in New York. They get the news back...amp is OK. It's sent back from New York. Then they suggest sending in the radio. Almost sure that's the issue....and they find out that the radio is actually ok too. Obviously, it's something more fundamental with the car...either the control system in some way. They try again, for a couple more hours...still no luck. Danny, the owner, tells me he thinks the amp repair place was wrong, that the amp is bad. What he suggests is that he'll call a junk yard, find another amp, and drive it himself to the junk yard and plug in a new (used) amp to see if that fixes the problem. At that point, I said, no, that's okay.....I think I'm just going to throw in the towel and let the dealer make a mint off of me. It's too complicated. So, given that they couldn't fix the problem, why am I giving a 5? These guys worked their butts off to fix the problem. Danny was going to do whatever it would take to get it fixed. He was completely honest. He could have suggested..just put another radio in there, forget the stock Lexus radio, and then he could have made some money. But he was looking to fix it. He was looking for my best interest. WHEN YOU FIND A BUSINESS LIKE THAT, THEY ARE GOLD. To top it off, he only charged $65 for the diagnosis, when he had spent several hours on it. I tried to insist, I need to be fair with you, I want to pay $150 that's the bare minimum. He would have nothing of it. These guys are honest, hard working, and you would be nuts to bring your car stereo issues anywhere else. These guys are awesome!!!!! read more

I took my car here to have an auxiliary port installed. The guys on the phone making appts were very nice and helpful. When I brought my car in, Danny helped me, and contrary to other reviews, he was very friendly! He gave me some options & told me it'd be ready in a few hours. I picked it up a few hours later and it was ready, the bill was as expected and I left. The ONLY reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they left my dash area very dusty from the work & there were bits of cut wire pieces sprinkling the floor.
