Flew Hilo from Kauai to see fam. Our flight suuuuper delayed so missed connecting and then new flight suuuuuper delayed and then our bags didn't even make it til 2 hours later. So we wanted some comfort food. Hubs said he would pick up food fast kine right before they closed and then run over to get our luggage. They were slammed and little bit unorganized so didn't get food til about 30 min after they closed...barely made it to grab bags. Hubs got the mustard cabbage soup...that was souper tasty! Came with whole container of rice... I got the pork belly saimin...ate some, then we all ate it for breakfast and still had some pork left for the next day breakfast. Buggah fatty but soft. Soup was a little salty for me, so I watered down for me and baby. $50-ish but choke food. Probs a new go to spot. Hopefully next time it won't be a day of delays... read more

Got takeout from this place as not many places stayed open during a later dinner time. It was a big order because we had a large group. Their saimin was delicious with a good savory brith, and pho was delicious as well but the meatball tasted soggy with a weird texture, so I would avoid the meatballs. Hands down best food here in Hilo, late night cravings satisfied. ALWAYS! Also, the owner Duy always greets me with a smile like he's excited to see me every single time I show up there. SUPER FRIENDLY, plates are stacked!!! I'd say a little pricey but come to think of it, what's not pricey these days? And I like how the food is made to order, fresh all the time. BANH MIs are amazing and legit! pho broth is hard to beat! And my favorites are the crispy pork belly and when you're feeling sick or. We were craving saimin because the weather was cold and everywhere else was busy, so we figured we'd give this place a try. Huge mistake. There were only two people ahead of us, yet we waited a full hour, got there at 7pm and didn't leave until 8pm. We ordered two super saimin bowls and both came out cold. Not lukewarm it was COLD. Saimin is supposed to be served hot, so that alone was unacceptable. Then came the sides... with flies in them. Yes, actual flies. Absolutely disgusting. Both bowls went straight into the trash. $40 for straight garbage. The three guys working out of the truck looked completely disorganized, confused, and clearly not prepared to handle even a small crowd, let alone the rush that showed up after us. This was our first and last time here. If you value your money or your appetite, don't waste either at this place. HARD PASS! read more

Food here is delicious, luv it! Authentic vietnamese food truck. I have special diet requests and since everything is prepared fresh its never a problem. The flavors of all the dishes are excellent. Pork belly anything is delicious... the soup is amazing... Bahn mi is great to grab and go- along with any plate. Its the only place I stop when I'm in Hilo and want something healthy, good, easy, quick and reasonably priced. Plus, they are open until 10!! read more

On a quest to determine my top five favorite pho places in Hilo, gotta be prepared for the rainy Hilo weather! Not your typical business hours, def check their insta, but one of the few late night grinds available. As for the pho, my only gripe was that the basil and bean sprouts weren't that fresh. However, I absolutely loved the amount and quality of the meat, the pho broth was tasty, and the meatballs tasted slightly sweet and homemade! Should've asked about it, but never had pho meatballs quite like that and I really enjoyed it. The crispy pork belly banh mi was great, wished it was cut in half but we managed to share it just fine lol. They were out of most drinks but did have Thai tea available, tasted average but had bits of tea leaves that weren't strained out. Either way, did still thoroughly enjoy the food. I want to go back for the mustard cabbage soup, supposed to be one of their specialities! read more

I had the Chicken Pho a month or two ago. May I make a suggestion? Instead of calling it Chicken Pho, call it, Chicken Rice Noodle Soup. Calling it Chicken Pho is maybe a little misleading. Otherwise, the service and ambiance were great! read more

It's a decent choice for late night. The roast pork plate was pretty good, as was the braised pork belly, but their pho, for us, missed the mark. Poor noodle quality and not very tasty soup. And the sesame ball we ordered was not properly cooked, basically raw inside. Service was good, friendly. There's a covered place to sit either to wait or to eat. read more

Who doesn't love a Pho when Hilo gets a little chilly?! So we tried this place when they first popped up at the corner of Manono & Kawili St. it was hard not to notice the line especially at the late hour so we HAD to try. As we waited patiently for our food like everyone else was, I guess it started making what I think was the owner a bit stressed cause he started making loud comments to someone I wasn't aware was even in the food truck with him. I did however notice that he was sweating profusely and just using a little towel around his neck to continuously wipe his face, not hygienic! Like why?, you're smack dab front and center dude! Grossssss! Anyway after we got home with our food we were just saddened at the fact that the broth had absolutely NO TASTE! We tried adding everything from, the plum sauce, the garlic sauce to freaking shoyu and nothing worked. Fast forward years later to them now being on Kawailani and it's still the same, NO TASTE! read more

Stopped in tonite for saimin. My son had the Kalbi plate. Super Ono my braddahz. My only complaint was it took a little longer to get our food. By the time we got our order, the saimin soup was on the cold/warm side. I like my soup hot, had to come home and microwave. Other than that, it was super Ono and well presented. read more

We went extra on the fish as we've been eating a bit heavy and some lighter seafood was in order during our Hilo trip. We also got the pickled mango martini and sangria. Everything was very fresh, with local produce making up the crisp salad and delicious pan fried fish over yakisoba style noodles. The fried kalo is definitely different, as it's hard to describe not being a potato, with a different texture being crispy, yet fluffy and starchy on the inside. If you like fried potatoes, its worth trying. The fish over Bolognese had some conflicting flavors, but the fish was again tasty and fresh. Both drinks were quite citrusy, with the mango martini being a bit too tart for me. Staff was polite and efficient. Live music also happens, but it adds to the atmosphere rather than taking over. Reservations can made online and there's plenty of parking.
