a complete nightmare!!!! they moved us from Seattle to Fairbanks and held our belongings hostage for over 3 months saying they do not deliver to a "trail" they came to our house in Seattle to give a bid but I guess they must not have checked out our new house.We got fuel and water delivery but they said they would not deliver and started charging rent on the container. at this point we were living with the clothes from our carryons from our flight up here.All our belongings cloth furniture,fools,personal items,paintings ALlOur belongs from 30 years of life together ,basically a snapshot of our lives being held captive with no concern about out circumstances and not willing to listen to our solutions but said we need to put our stuff in storage. I finally hired a skid-loader to clean up te driveway-not a trail and had their dispatcher and driver out and the driver agreed to deliver. the driver and crew were great. I can't give enough praise to these hard working courteous yong men. We got our stuff but I feel overcharged,underserved and would never recommend them to anyone. read more

Recently used Sourdough Transfer for a property move within Fairbanks, AK. The transfer was completed with some problems. Originally the house inventory was divided into three groups: Storage (Stor), Apartment (Apt) and Trash (Trsh). All the boxes should have contained these letter codes. Several clearly marked boxes "Stor" Storage were delivered to my apartment by mistake. I do not know how many boxes marked "Apt" were sent to Storage? Suggestion, create a physical written inventory of entire shipment. Have each box marked by a sequential code of items. Have someone at the destination who will check each box upon delivery. Identify those particular items that are important upon delivery to new destination. I now have a problem of locating/identifying which boxes contain my workable documents and material. I have reservations about recommending Sourdough! read more

Worst moving company ever!!! 15 years ago they were great, so used them to move in 2020 (my mistake). Guy in charge of packing our house was leaving the company (it was his last day). How well do you think our belongings were packed? The crew onsite used our furniture for their smoke break, nothing against smokers but we don't smoke. Extremely unprofessional and the quality of the pack was horrendous. Wanted insurance, they knew in advance we wanted insurance but the pack/documentation was so bad we couldn't get insurance. If less stars were available I'd give them less! They moved our stuff on post less then a mile to a new house and broke, damaged, and ripped more items then my last two PCS moves. They broke my entertainment center and didn't tell us and when my wife found it she asked them how it happened and old boy was like" oh yeah I was going to tell you about that" .... no he wasn't ! I have moved many times in my life and have never experienced such unprofessional, lazy, and careless service until I used Sourdough Transfer. The two movers met me at the storage unit which contained furniture and boxes (everything was already packed up). It was a 1 bedroom apartment worth of stuff, so not very much, and it took them THREE hours to load up. The guys were nice, but were not focused at all. They decided they needed a smoke break after 45 minutes of working, so they sat in the cab of the truck for about 15 minutes. While loading up they were chatting CONSTANTLY with each other, I deduced that they had never met or worked with one another before (maybe this attributed to their extremely poor work ethic) because they were asking each other a lot of questions about how long they've been working for ST, etc. The one guy kept answering his phone and texting throughout this process as well. Anyway, when it came time to load up the dirt bike they took about 20 minutes deciding how to wheel it up the ramp, and another 30 minutes securing it inside the truck. It's not worth going into detail about this part, but it wasn't rocket science. It was painful watching them do this. I nicknamed them Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb from this point on. (By this time I realized that these guys are getting paid by the hour and taking their time on purpose. It was so obvious.) Then it came time to leave and drive to my house and the one asked for my address, which I gave to the head guy Josh when I had initially called to arrange this move. He put it into his smart phone and then told me they would be stopping for food on the way to my house and that they would meet me there. Excuse me? Totally inappropriate while you're on the job working for a customer. Even so, I was nice and said okay see you there. Once at my house it took them another 2.5 hours to unload and thats without putting anything together, banging up my furniture and walls, and leaving my weed wacker and my bicycle laying outside in the yard. When it came time to pay, boy they were right on top of that! They wanted to charge me SIX HUNDRED dollars and didn't bother to subtract the time spent NOT working. I got him to take off a measly 45 minutes for all the breaks they took. After they left I called the moving company's office and spoke with Josh and told him my concerns, that these guys were on frequent breaks, talking too much and not focusing on the job at hand, as well as just being slow on purpose. He said he would talk to the guys when they got back to the office. Josh called me back later and insisted that they already subtracted some time and didn't I know that. I was polite and said its ok I just wanted him to know how his workers were behaving on the job. I got the impression that Josh couldn't care less about the quality of service being delivered. I will never use this company again, in fact when I hear of people moving I will tell them not to go with Sourdough Transfer. Sidenote: After all was said and done I received a call from Josh saying they had forgotten to unload my footboard. I had since left my house and was 30 minutes outside of town, so what did they do? Brought it back to my house and left it on my porch. Awesome. read more
