That same night I got a call from the owner. I was dreading answering the phone because I thought for sure it was them calling to cancel on us because of some unforeseen circumstances. But I was wrong! The owner called to let us know that he had an even better tour (one more suitable for what we were trying to do) at a much more convenient time! I really appreciate that they thought to call us and offer us the more beneficial package. I should add that the owner was super kind and helped me throughout the entire booking process. He was very patient with me while I struggled to book online. There site is super easy to navigate, I'm just not tech-savvy. When we did go out on our tour, we were given the greatest captain/instructor. Captain Sasha was so sweet and funny and knowledgeable. It was my first time snorkeling and he walked me through everything and made it all so simple. He was kind enough to take a ton of wonderful photos of my friend and me while we snorkeled. He let us take our time and enjoy ourselves and was such a pleasure. He even gave us a tour of the area which I know he did not have to do. It was too expensive for us but the worker gave us some less than expensive options. One was exciting and scary at the same time but after he showed me how easy it was we were off exploring Miami on a Segway and amazing guide - He took us around and shared some interesting facts while allowing my daughter and me to get off and explore a little on our own. Also, I could not find anywhere the $3 commuter tickets or packages, I have seen ads from you where you advertise that but, I could not find these anywhere on the website and then, most important of all the delay, we were there 15 minutes before departure as requested and nobody was there, at 6 pm the time the ferry was supposed to leave nobody there, no ferry, no personnel, so I called and they told me the ferry was 15/20 minutes late, I told the guy it would have been good if they texted the people that purchased the tickets online given they have all our details, he said it was posted on the website...............so, who goes back on the website once you have purchased the tickets? You should implement an automatic text alert for the customers that purchased the tickets informing them of the delay, so at 6.15 pm I did receive a text, this was 15 minutes from the original departure time, the alerts should be sent 15 minutes before departure or even earlier if you know there are delays, but ok, room for improvement, the problem is that we only left at 6.40 pm........ 40 minutes late; if you are planning to have commuters using this service you need to make sure that the ferry leaves on time otherwise you will never get this part of business, people need to arrive on time at work and if they are relying on the transportation you provide, you should really make sure to be on time, 5 minutes late it is fine but 40 minutes late it is definitely not. One more thing, you advertise that the crossing takes 20 minutes, yesterday by the time you leave and the time you get there and get off the ferry, it took 40 minutes, I think this is an important information especially for commuters that need to know the right time, if it is like that all the time, maybe you should specify it, I don't mind the 40 minutes but if I had to go to work I would want to know. Overall I love the service but you need to improve the service and if you expand to other places, I saw on the website that you will be going to Coconut Grove in the future, I will for sure use it but please get better so next time I can give you a 5 star @poseidonferry

This was the second time I did one of River of Grass Adventure's boat tours. Both times, my guides…read more/ boat Captains were great. They are passionate about the Everglades, preserving it, and really love what they're doing. For about hour, we zipped and stopped around the park, through channels in between the high saw grass, over grassy flats, and within a few canals dredged many years ago. The fresh air felt great and I think maybe my blood pressure eased for a few moments. We saw wildlife, including a peregrine falcon, other birds and of course, many alligators, either resting on the grass or swimming off to do whatever it is they do. The guides I think know pretty much where to find the alligators, some of which have names. River of Grass is one of the first swamp tours west of Miami off of highway 41 past the casino. The boats take you pretty far into the Everglades where you don't see or hear any civilization, only the quiet rustle of the grass, i.e. when the engines are not powering the boat thru the glades (why can't they make a quieter engine?).
