Beautiful spot surrounded by trees. You can have a fire and play yard games as well. Definitely felt at home!

When we got there there was alot of parking and we were greeted in the pro shop with very friendly staff. We got our carts ( which has GPS and electronic scoring) and were allowed to Practice at the driving range before our tee time got called. We were very slow but never felt rushed. The staff came up to us and asked if someone could go ahead we had no problem with that. Again the staff were very friendly. We ate at the pro shop after. The food wasn't the greatest and they didn't have very many healthy/vegetarian options but again it was a good way to end our evening as the sun went down I will be back and I would recommend this golf course. They have specials on Tuesdays and special rates after 4 o'clock. Check their website for more details

The fairways are fairly narrow so if you have a hook or slice to your swing your going to be hunting for your ball a lot. The greens are extremely fast. Just tap your ball and it goes flying. The exception to this is on hole 9 and18 where it's the exact opposite. Your going to have to change up your putting for those 2. One of the well kept secrets of this course is that they usually have some free golf balls on the driving range you can just hit and warm up on before your tee time. The one thing I dislike about this place is their gps controlled golf carts. They force you to drive on the cart path all the time and if you get just a little bit off where they want you to go they completely lock up and only allow you to go in reverse. The gps screens in the carts do give a distance to the green and an electronic scorecard which is nice, but you get annoying messages about slowing down on the next hill and ads pop up all the time. All in all a very good and challenging course.

I am new to golfing but I've had the opportunity to get out quite a bit this past summer. One of…read morethe places we went to was The Links at Spruce Grove. Now, I rarely ever go out to Spruce Grove as it's quite far from home, but they had an awesome deal for golfing on weekends after 2pm: For 2 people, at $65 per person, you each get a bucket of balls for the driving range and a $10 voucher for their clubhouse restaurant/bar (and yes, it can be spent on alcohol), and a golf cart to share. How could I pass this up?! I really liked the course though I found it challenging for a newbie (it also didn't help that we got stuck behind a tournament which really killed my drive to play). It is very well maintained (though later in the afternoon the weather changed and blew leaves everywhere), and the clubhouse is quite nice as well, very modern, nice bathrooms. The staff were nice enough to let me fill up my water bottle from the jug of ice water at the bar. There is a little pro shop attached to it where you pay for your round, and they happened to be having a sale on summer clothing. This was extremely useful for when it got cold and I needed to buy a jacket. We stayed for dinner and sampled their food - gotta use up those food vouchers! They had a pretty standard pub menu; I really wanted to try the wings but decided I should try and eat somewhat healthier food. So I went with a turkey club sandwich :) It came with either soup, fries, or salad - I chose the latter and the broccoli slaw that came out was actually pretty good, fresh and crunchy. The club sandwich was good too - though I don't know if it still qualifies as a club sandwich since it didn't have the middle layer of bread? But I don't need the extra slice anyway so it didn't bother me. The turkey was real and not just deli meat, the bacon was perfectly crispy and not the pre-made stuff, and the real slice of cheddar cheese was much appreciated. Husband ordered the chicken penne alfredo, which came with what I think were supposed to be naan wedges but were really more just like pita bread. I found it bland, but the addition of pepper helped a bit. Service was a bit slow but understandable as it was fairly busy. Seems like everyone was taking advantage of the same deal. Overall, I had fun, but was disappointed that the marshall (or whatever that person is called that comes around to make sure that the game is running on time) seemed non-existent for this golf tournament ahead of us. We were constantly 2-3 groups behind, and on the 5th hole, there were another 2-3 groups behind us. I think it took us 3 hours to get through the first 9 holes? Fortunately the tournament stopped there and we had the back 9 holes to ourselves. Hopefully this doesn't happen again next time!

Inside the mini clubhouse they have a pro shop with a few items for sale, not a huge selection but if you forget your balls or tees they have all that there. They also have a food and beverage offerings in there and you can load up before you head out on the course. We let the staff know that we were somewhat beginners and I will say that they do schedule the tee times fairly close to one another. We were getting to the tee box as the players in front of us were either on the fairway or on the green so it's quite a quick pace of play. There were a few times we were falling a tad behind the game play and the Marshall was really nice and came over and helped us look for our balls for a couple holes and get us caught up to the game play. The greens were nice and even though it is end of the season the fairway and greens were still in good condition. Overall I would definitely come back and I would recommend this course to others. We played best ball and it worked well for us as far as keeping up to game play. It was a beautiful day and busy day full of people but everyone was super friendly.
