My ribs fell off the bone and very flavourful. The rissotto was excellent and a great consistancy. My husband was pleased with his burger. I tried a bite and the patty was very juicy and tasty. First off we came a little early. The parking lot is quite large and clean. It was raining so the few steps you have to walk down were a tad on the slippery side but a scenic walk, even in the rain. The main building itself is pretty simple. It's rustic and little outdated, say stuck in the 90s, but the view overlooking the lush golf greens right by the river valley makes you forget all that quite quickly. The event itself is AMAZING. The live lobsters are boiled fresh and you are given your choice of the whole lobster or just claw and tail. The head with its green mushy bits is more then I can handle so stuck to the claw and tail. Being a buffet I completely overindulged and had about 8 sets of claws and a tail. (My dining partner doesn't like claws so I gave her my tails for her claws. Lol) The rest of the buffet was simple fixing but all done right. Three salads Ceasar, Asian, and tomato. My favorite was definitely the Ceasar as it had the right mix of creamy and citrus. Then there was garlic toast, corn on the cob, and baked potatoes. There were also oven roasted chicken and pork chops with bbq sauce. And some condiments such as pickles olives and what not. Finally the dessert buffet. My favorite item from the table was the amazing peach tart. So peachy, light, airy and creamy. But really, everything we tried was pretty great. And we gave it our best to try at least a couple bites of everything on the table but in the end failed miserably as they kept bringing out different items as the meal wined down. Service was pretty decent. The hostess was able to sit us right away at our reserved table. And a waitress took our drink order promptly. Throughout dinner our plates were cleared quickly, for the most part and we were checked on to see of we had any needs as well. Coffee and tea were included with the meal. I asked for decaf so they had to brew a pot just for us. It was hot and strong. By the end of the evening we were already discussing how we couldn't wait to come back next year and invite more friends to join us. A+++.

Located on the west end of the city, overlooking the North Saskatchewan River, Edmonton Country Club has a breathtaking view. The banquet hall is big enough to fit quite a few people, and was well lit, and set up perfectly. The view from the huge wall of windows is one of the best in the city. The 3 course menu consisted of salad with Country Club grown tomatoes, chicken breast with mashed potatoes and wild mushroom sauce, and for dessert, a lava cake with ice cream and fruit. Absolutely delicious. The bathrooms are also quite fancy!

We came at 7:50 even though it says they close at 8pm the owner was so nice and let us get a couple buckets of balls. We brought the kids to practise hitting some balls and they loved it here. The owner told us he just invested and upgraded the tee off mats and tarmac where you tee off. It looks so nice!! The greens you stand on are brand new and cushy! It's clean here and they even have flushable toilets. In the clubhouse (which is accessible with a ramp) there are some chairs and tables. It's slightly outdated inside the clubhouse but you're not really spending time in there anyways. There is a small store to buy Powerade and other things. And also a deck with some tables and chairs too. There are a few benches for sitting while you wait or watch people tee off. They also have a putting area to practise your putting on which is a nice addition. Overall this place is a great small business and was not busy at all which was really nice! We will definitely be back here all summer long. Check this place out if you're in the southside and looking for a sweet driving range. Reasonably priced as well!!

I have been to Billy D's many times before to just hit balls. The prices are reasonable. The parking lot is gravel but there's a paved lot right next to it. The facility itself has all the necessities. Every person who I have met working there seems very genuine and nice. Sometimes you need to wait a minute as they are giving tips to people who are at the range. The boxes worked well and being right handed, there were tons of them. The putting green is smaller if you're going there to practice that. In regards to our lesson, Bruce was awesome! He got to know us and worked together as well as individually. My husband's swing improved by 500% in just one lesson. I have done a decent amount of golfing but have picked up some awful habits. Bruce was able to zone into what parts of my swing were giving me trouble. I haven't hit the ball that straight... ever. We ended up booking a series of four lessons as we were so impressed. Even after our lesson was over, Bruce continued to check in on us which is pretty amazing. The range is located near the Costco on 91st. I almost didn't want to write this review as it's a little secret and never seems too busy. I changed my mind as I would love this business to flourish. If you want a casual but still professional place to go hit some balls or to have an awesome lesson, look no further!

The clubhouse is wonderful, the staff fantastic. Course is definitely one of the more difficult courses in the Edmonton area. I must give my props to the greens keepers as the course is in terrific shape. The carts are wonderful and new with a GPS map and everything. I do however wish the carts had a cooler with some ice in it. Had to drink my beers too fast to prevent them from getting warm haha. Couldn't recommend Quarry enough, it is quickly becoming a favourite of mine.

Came to the Castle Downs Spray Park today as part of my Yelp quest to find the best of the best…read morespray and splash parks in and around Edmonton. Castle Downs comes in at a strong 4 out of 5 stars. Today was a jam packed Sunday afternoon with so very many options including multiple playgrounds, giant gazebo, skatepark, 2 food trucks - ice cream and a Poutine/burger/fry truck, and the city of Edmonton Green Shack peeps. The Spray park had several zones including a musical piano, spray cannons, and loops of water you can run through. PROS Multiple water and playground zones -something for everyone Washrooms Food trucks Green shacks Huge grass fields/hills surrounding park Ample parking lot City of Edmonton Staff Rubber ground for majority of spray park and playground Lots of swings CONS Too big! So big that it was easy to lose track of my toddler even while playing with him on the playground and in the spray park Zones are not fenced in so if you lose track of your child, they could go missing quickly or wander to the parking lot/road. Close proximity of townhomes attached to the backing grass, again not fenced off, would also make it easy for a child to wander to a residential area. Some people may be thinking, hey watch you kid(s) and yes BUT if you are here with several children (especially toddlers) we all know how fast one can run off while attending to another child. The water cannons shoot water hard enough to nearly knock my toddler off his feet - good for BIG kids but not so great for my toddler and kindergartner Lack of shade - lots of people set their chairs up against the washroom building to try and find shade Very few benches/picnic tables In summary, Castle Downs park has loads of amenities and lots of space but so much so that it felt overwhelming at times and difficult to keep track of little ones. If you have a big kid that doesn't require sight and sound supervision, this may be the park for you! But if you're like me with a toddler and little kid, this park was a little too much for us coupled with a lack of shade or fenced in areas resulting in a solid 4 out of 5 stars. PS - If you are planning on coming here with little ones under 5 - I'd recommend a 1:1 ratio of supervision to toddlers :-)
