As for my friends and I we let few people pass as there are some pros here trying to get through the hole course quick. The best thing I like about these golf places is the golf carts. I don't know about you but I like driving these things 100% of the time. These golf carts equipped with gps, scoring, and time tracking. Extra features has some servicing I believe if needed and they are somewhat electric powered, very quiet when driving. The main shop is quite small but convenient for the golfers, small dining lounge and with a gift shop. Parking is spacious and washrooms are well kept. The cost is seen in photo. Also beware of mosquitoes at this time. Highly recommend you bring mosquito spray, sun lotion, extra water bottle, and sunglasses. Players get one water bottle. There are washrooms located within the golf course so don't be worried of drinking to much water. Recommended for anyone looking to try new golf areas.

I am new to golfing but I've had the opportunity to get out quite a bit this past summer. One of…read morethe places we went to was The Links at Spruce Grove. Now, I rarely ever go out to Spruce Grove as it's quite far from home, but they had an awesome deal for golfing on weekends after 2pm: For 2 people, at $65 per person, you each get a bucket of balls for the driving range and a $10 voucher for their clubhouse restaurant/bar (and yes, it can be spent on alcohol), and a golf cart to share. How could I pass this up?! I really liked the course though I found it challenging for a newbie (it also didn't help that we got stuck behind a tournament which really killed my drive to play). It is very well maintained (though later in the afternoon the weather changed and blew leaves everywhere), and the clubhouse is quite nice as well, very modern, nice bathrooms. The staff were nice enough to let me fill up my water bottle from the jug of ice water at the bar. There is a little pro shop attached to it where you pay for your round, and they happened to be having a sale on summer clothing. This was extremely useful for when it got cold and I needed to buy a jacket. We stayed for dinner and sampled their food - gotta use up those food vouchers! They had a pretty standard pub menu; I really wanted to try the wings but decided I should try and eat somewhat healthier food. So I went with a turkey club sandwich :) It came with either soup, fries, or salad - I chose the latter and the broccoli slaw that came out was actually pretty good, fresh and crunchy. The club sandwich was good too - though I don't know if it still qualifies as a club sandwich since it didn't have the middle layer of bread? But I don't need the extra slice anyway so it didn't bother me. The turkey was real and not just deli meat, the bacon was perfectly crispy and not the pre-made stuff, and the real slice of cheddar cheese was much appreciated. Husband ordered the chicken penne alfredo, which came with what I think were supposed to be naan wedges but were really more just like pita bread. I found it bland, but the addition of pepper helped a bit. Service was a bit slow but understandable as it was fairly busy. Seems like everyone was taking advantage of the same deal. Overall, I had fun, but was disappointed that the marshall (or whatever that person is called that comes around to make sure that the game is running on time) seemed non-existent for this golf tournament ahead of us. We were constantly 2-3 groups behind, and on the 5th hole, there were another 2-3 groups behind us. I think it took us 3 hours to get through the first 9 holes? Fortunately the tournament stopped there and we had the back 9 holes to ourselves. Hopefully this doesn't happen again next time!

My young child was almost run over by a kid in a Trestle golf cart, and when we went to the lake to confront him he said he is allowed to drive the carts how he wants. He then proceeded to tell me to leave if I didn't like it. The slides are horrible, you have to drag your self down them and forget about the slip and slide unless you want to be injured at the bottom if you don't move quick enough. And lets talk leeches. Not only in the lake, but the owner is an arrogant, rude man that walks around like he has a stick up it. He couldn't care about anything but money. I was told that the rec centre, if ever built, wont accommodate the population that is expected. Now the golfing is ok, but we wanted to play the full 18 and was told we could play the first 9 twice. Guess the back nine are reserved for the elite that mr. arrogant picks to play it.

Me and and my S.O. wandered across this golf course on one of our trips out to Elk Island National Park to check out the Bison. We stopped to check out the buffalo paddocks first and then went over to check out Astotin Lake. After checking out the lake and partaking in some fun GPS scavenger hunt activity we saw a sign for the golf course that was located nearby. I did not know about this golf course so we decided to go check out the club house and find out about fees and making reservations. The clubhouse is small and quaint but has some great views of the course and the natural surroundings. To our surprise it was pretty much empty! The course didn't look busy either. I made a promise to come out one day and check out this course in person. I haven't golfed much lately and this was a good excuse for a fun golf outing. Fast forward a few months and I have a visitor coming from Calgary so I suggest we go do some golfing. I said I knew of this course out at the National Park that I thought wouldn't be busy on a Friday. We arrived at the course around 2pm after a leisurely trip out there and also exploring the buffalo paddocks and a bit of the park. I expected we might be hitting the busiest part of the day but I thought worse case scenario we have some beers and practise putting. Not a bad day off indeed. As it had it though the course was pretty much wide open. We had another group of two going out in front of us and we gave them an ample head-start as no one was teeing off behind us. In fact there were no other groups behind us that caught up to us and we were taking it slow enjoying the round of golf. The course is beautiful. In fact it is one of the oldest courses in Northern Alberta and was designed by the same person that did the Jasper and Banff golf courses I was told. It is carved into the natural surroundings so you don't ever see any roads/buildings/etc, just trees and more trees. The course is well taken care of and has good sized fairways. Be careful though, once you are in the rough you might was well count it as a lost ball! It basically goes from fairway to rough and there isn't much in between. My visitor loved the course as well. He wasn't so sure about trundling "all" the way out to Elk Island to go golf but he raved about it during and after our round. He wants to go back when he is back next. All in all, this course is a HUGE winner in my books. It is a hidden gem for sure and I hope it does stay that way but more people do need to know about it! Happy Golfing!

Hills everywhere and the fairways are wide and long. Sometimes you're pitching at a 90 degree angle. It's absolutely gorgeous, not crowded, we took forever to play 9 holes. No rushing. And then the food at the end....smokies and the chicken burger...mmm mm. When you're done go for a little hike on the living waters walkway, drive through the buffalo loop and see some buffalo. The whole place is a beauty with top notch friendly service everywhere!

We came at 7:50 even though it says they close at 8pm the owner was so nice and let us get a couple buckets of balls. We brought the kids to practise hitting some balls and they loved it here. The owner told us he just invested and upgraded the tee off mats and tarmac where you tee off. It looks so nice!! The greens you stand on are brand new and cushy! It's clean here and they even have flushable toilets. In the clubhouse (which is accessible with a ramp) there are some chairs and tables. It's slightly outdated inside the clubhouse but you're not really spending time in there anyways. There is a small store to buy Powerade and other things. And also a deck with some tables and chairs too. There are a few benches for sitting while you wait or watch people tee off. They also have a putting area to practise your putting on which is a nice addition. Overall this place is a great small business and was not busy at all which was really nice! We will definitely be back here all summer long. Check this place out if you're in the southside and looking for a sweet driving range. Reasonably priced as well!!

I have been to Billy D's many times before to just hit balls. The prices are reasonable. The parking lot is gravel but there's a paved lot right next to it. The facility itself has all the necessities. Every person who I have met working there seems very genuine and nice. Sometimes you need to wait a minute as they are giving tips to people who are at the range. The boxes worked well and being right handed, there were tons of them. The putting green is smaller if you're going there to practice that. In regards to our lesson, Bruce was awesome! He got to know us and worked together as well as individually. My husband's swing improved by 500% in just one lesson. I have done a decent amount of golfing but have picked up some awful habits. Bruce was able to zone into what parts of my swing were giving me trouble. I haven't hit the ball that straight... ever. We ended up booking a series of four lessons as we were so impressed. Even after our lesson was over, Bruce continued to check in on us which is pretty amazing. The range is located near the Costco on 91st. I almost didn't want to write this review as it's a little secret and never seems too busy. I changed my mind as I would love this business to flourish. If you want a casual but still professional place to go hit some balls or to have an awesome lesson, look no further!
