I've used CarMax before as they buy vehicles outright and I've found that their offers are…read morecomparable to dealers that offer you a trade in. All of my experiences here have been good. With this in mind, my daughter is thinking of selling her vehicle and we set up an appointment with CarMax. We did the online appointment process and it was so easy. When we arrived a person was expecting us. They asked a few questions, took the keys to have the vehicle looked at, offered us water bottles and offered to show us some vehicles on the lot. We decided to walk the lot by ourselves and then hung out in the waiting area. They have a nice setup with a monitor by the waiting area to show whose vehicle is currently being looked at and what order your vehicle is in. Looking over the vehicle took about 20 mins then they provided an offer. It was lower than my daughter was expecting so she declined. They did let us know the offer is good for 7 days. Overall the experience was easy and seamless. Every employee we came into contact with was friendly and helpful. In my past experiences when I did sell them a car, that process is easy too. You bring your title and all of your key sets. They take your vehicle, cut you a check and it's done. It is really that easy - no gimmicks!

Ok, first: the chairs could use an update. I was literally so uncomfortable with how gross and worn…read morethe chairs were at the desk where I needed to sign the paperwork that I actually just stood (awkwardly) the whole time. The adjacent waiting area with cushy chairs was nice; the ones for doing business have seen better days. Barring my physical discomfort, the balance of the experience was pleasant and expedient. Rather than use the kiosk, I checked in with a real human. She pulled up my online quote quickly and we were on a roll. Btw, the offer was about $1,000 lower than another local company, but from the time I got the quote until I went to actually sell the car, that place shuttered all STL locations, leaving me with markedly fewer choices. I recommend getting several online quotes before you head over. I walked in with my title as well, ready to hand over the keys and say a final goodbye to my beautiful 2016 Mazda 6, so there was no emotional roller coaster for me. I didn't waffle on the decision or need the allotted seven days the quote is valid for. Kudos to the staff! Each person I interacted with was incredibly kind and efficient. Soup to nuts, it took much less time than I anticipated. They offered to send me home in a Lyft, but I'm not a fan, so I paid for an Uber.

Jim Trenary Chevrolet - As you can see, this idiot marked the torque, line with white rainbow, glitter, fingernail polish WTF!!!!

With that being said, if it wasn't for my salesperson Allisha, I would've already taken my old car back and found something else somewhere else. If she ever leaves I absolutely demand to know where she goes! She's very laid back, not pushy at all and let me wander around like I intended. She's every bit as knowledgeable as the men and did not ambush me!! She really does go above the usual salespeople expectations, she saved me from driving away with my trunk still leaking. Honestly, when I pulled into the pre-owned lot and a guy IMMEDIATELY came outside BEFORE I EVEN GOT OUT OF MY CAR to ambush me..I backed out and drove to the new lot and walked down to the pre-owned lot. I would like to look at what you even have before we talk about negotiations, is that strange? ‍ Now I'm struggling to get the car I originally bought fixed.. The trunk leaks BAD! Had my car smelling of strong mildew in 24 hrs.. They sent it to the body shop last Monday to be "fixed" and when they got it back Friday Allisha decided to double-check and water test the trunk (thank goodness).. STILL LEAKS JUST AS BAD! So now I'm another week without my car and at this point can't even remember what my car was like... I'll update next weekend when I hopefully get my car back.

No word for a week, so I called to see what the status is and they told me they never had me down for an appointment. Off to great start, right? I was willing to overlook this issue and proceeded to tell them my two major issues. 1. When my truck is off and hooked up to a trailer the trailer lights stay on. 2. When I shift into park and turn off my truck, the radio stays on and a light comes on "shift into park" Now..... Run around I got..... Several days (47) in total. This guy is sick, or we are waiting on parts, or we don't know how to fix it, waiting for GM engineering, vacation, and on and on. Finally got the call my truck is done! Mind you I've been paying for a rental call this entire time. I pay the $8,800 and head home. The next morning I test it on a trailer, PROBLEM STILL THERE! I turn my truck off, PROBLEM STILL THERE! I call and the service manager won't talk with me! I have a very detailed email chain with Kyle W. STAY AWAY FROM THESE LIARS AND THEIVES!
