I've only been 2 times, 1st time I ordered cream chipped beef. No taste except flour. I can give you my recipe, it's the best. Only other place I've ever had it as good was at-Rod and Reel but that was back in the 90s! The second time I went, I ordered fried fish platter. The fish was so fried there wasn't any meat in the middle and it looked like it was thrown in the container. Usually I have positive things to say about SOCO Cafe, not today. Yes, I understand "weekends are busy", but there is no reason an egg biscuit should take 25 min to prepare for a carry out order. To say that 'the home fries are made to order' as justification is just not true. If the home fries were made to order, they would be hot. They weren't. The unpleasant attitude of the young lady behind the counter did nothing so minimize the inconvenience. If i were reviewing her, there would be no stars. I love this place so much. I get the breakfast all the time. Fast, easy, and reasonably priced. Have probably done 40-50 orders over the last 2 years and only one was missing a single item from the pick up order. I called and they refunded immediately with no issue or pushback. Another 20 minutes and they serve me a crab cake sandwich that had a huge bite taken out of the crab cake concealed under the bun. This was our first time there! We got the omelette with home fries and blueberry pancakes. The omelette and home fries were seasoned well! The home fries had a surprisingly and deliciously slight crisp to it! Normally that isn't expected, but the crisp was a nice surprise! The blueberry pancakes were great! 4/25 Friday at lunchtime... Very disappointed brought my friends here for a lunch get together after telling them how great the food was including service and dessert. The food was substandard, cashier couldn't bother to be friendly (except when male customer walked up). The woman taking the food to outside tables would yell out names when no one answered she would grumble and get mad. One friend told her these people can't hear u calling because of the wind dahhhh. The salad case had an open back (or left open doors) all of the salads, pasta etc had "skin type look" over them from being in the open air not appetizing or question m...health code violation?. No cover or Saran Wrap on any of the salads! Two friends had steak and cheese subs which had a very small amount of steak (like steakems) could have gone to Jerry's subs and gotten a better steak and cheese. The others had Rockfish sandwiches basically fried so hard the meat was dried up inside. French fries were hot but nothing special just frozen fries. That said, I apologized for bringing group here and we didn't bother with desserts Took them elsewhere for that. The oatmeal cookies were amazing, the biscuits were super flaky, the fresh fruit danish was scrumptious. Overall, a fantastic local experience and I would recommend this place to anyone! Frequent this location for lunch and the staff are friendly. Looks as if they all know each other and probably do since the neighborhood seems small and kept to themselves. Looked very small but quaint from the outside. However, lots of seating in the inside and still very quaint. Both ordered a different breakfast wrap and were very pleased. Food was great. Very fresh! Seemed like lots of locals enjoyed the cafe as well. Always a good sign in my opinion. Went back that evening for ice cream. Portions were small but ice cream was good.
