Order was placed online for a weekend breakfast for pickup. The service was not the best. We waited in line for awhile just to get our order as if we're placing an order. The cashier wasn't friendly nor was she efficient or inviting. Have you never seen a minority race like me purchase a product from your store before? Gawking at a customer so overtly is rude whether from behind the counter, from the bakery kitchen, or elsewhere. The indoor dining area looks nice like social media friendly nice. I was already put off by the place trying to pick up an order placed well over 30 minutes prior. The weather was beautiful outside but the inside was dark and gloomy. Too bad the price of products and the interior design didn't quite match the taste of the product either. For 2 breakfast sandwiches, open salmon sandwich and a stuffed scallion pancake type of thing, the bill was close to $70 something. The worst part of it was none of us finished our food and nobody really liked the food. How tragic. Maybe I will find something else that I like from here if I choose to return in the future. I doubt that's happening anytime soon despite the location.

    Tomago Avocado Toast

Love this place! I'm really struggling to find the right words to describe the entire experience. The sandwiches are huge and there is nothing simple about anything on the menu. I really like the vibe. Definitely can see myself setting up shop to read or sending an email or two while enjoying my breakfast. We went on a Saturday morning and it was packed. I'd heard great things about this bistro and wanted to judge for myself. The reviews did not disappoint. They had a spring special matcha drink with strawberry foam. Typically speaking I'm not a huge fan of matcha. It's usually way too herbaceous for me, but I figured the strawberry would help. Surprisingly it was really good! A very subtle flavor and pretty refreshing. For my main I got the Tomago Avocado Toast. DELICIOUS! It had ton of ingredients, but it all paired together very nicely. I'm sure you could eat it as a handheld, but for me a knife and fork was the way to go. The only criticism is the front of the house could use a tad more TLC when it came to wiping tables down between guest. Granted it was a very busy Saturday morning and that may have threw them off their game. Outside of a few crumbs, I really enjoyed checking this place out. All in all a great spot, that I will definitely visit again soon.

Restaurant is clean and well decorated. Modern and trendy! Loved the barley bowl and the chicken sandwich. The croissant was round and amazing. Highly recommend

A good sandwich but not a good Cuban.

Glad I came back as the menu has grown and so have the seating options. There is a variety of artisan sandwiches that include house made breads, pickles, meats and sauces. My Cuban at $17 was an investment but a delicious one. This monster made for two meals and while the artsy chips looked nice and house made were greasy. The sandwich was delicious but missed the mark in it's attempt at a Cuban. The house pickles here did not provide tang or crunch necessary for a proper Cuban. A Good sandwich anyway just not a good Cuban.

LOVE LOVE LOVE A hidden jewel of Annapolis. Always wanted to find a cute coffee shop with great healthy eats in Annapolis. And we have found the place! Starting from their coffee to their toasts and breakfast options! Becoming a weekly spot. Stop by, you wont be disappointed.

Quiche of the day ... what's left of it. Yum.

I ordered a latte and some beignets for the road with white chocolate sauce, and OMG - so so yummy! I loved my little piece of NOLA in MD. & my next time in the area, I will for sure be returning. This location is super fitting too, with a lot of customers coming with their laptop or workbooks to not only eat and be served, but to use the space for their own personal development.

This review is about service and class and who I will and will not trust to prepare what I consume…read more I ordered a Velvet ice with oat milk. The woman taking my order added "no whip" because she assumed I didn't want dairy at all. When I asked for the whip they, with a nasty attitude, told me I had to pay extra. That didn't make sense to me considering the photo shows whip cream included. They started having a conversation in the back about me for making this simple request pointing out what their menu shows. I then pulled up the menu, waited in line again, and I showed them the menu and the mobile app which both show whip included and which you actually have to deselect it and neither has an additional fee. The woman preparing my order acknowledged that she deselected it on my behalf since I asked for oat milk. At this point - this is absolutely not about the whip cream or the upcharge, it is the abhorrent service, the aggressive demeanor, and the unexplained disdain I was shown when I treated both women with nothing but respect from the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out of the establishment. ATP the woman who took my order saw the issue and was going to resolve it by, of course, adding the included whip cream! However, the manager, DJ returned and interfered refusing to allow her to do so & going on a rant directed at me when I was not at all in communication with her. Then, as she was returning my order (which included a tip btw!!) she proceeded to attempt to insult me by saying, "if you don't have 70 cents to pay for this, just say so." For the record, the tip I left was more than the 70 cents so that obviously did not land well. Throughout this dumbfounding experience, I was standing there, my voice calm, not raised, in a store full of my customers (after I patiently waited in line a second time) at 10 months pregnant. We all have bad days, but on so many levels, this cannot be acceptable at any point. To insult someone to try to win a "debate" over a non-issue in an industry where some of us remember "the customer is always right," is despicable at best. I hope someone finds a training opportunity in this, but I will not return to ever find out.

It might look tiny, but don't misjudge the coffee and other drinks they are making here! I actually went back after my first order to try another beverage, it was that good. I started with a Fall-flavored 'refresher,' though I can't honestly remember the name. But, it was amazing! I was down the strip a few shops for an event, so I popped back to The Big Bean before they closed for their "Not Ready for Winter" coffee concoction. Another winner! I also picked up a couple of biscotti for later. When we did finally get around to trying them, they were incredible! Very hard and crunchy as a biscotti should be, and perfect for soaking up some coffee for dunking. And the flavors are perfect. Other people were ordering their breakfast sandwiches, which honestly looked and smelled incredible... I just didn't have room for food that day. Or, I would have totally ordered one just based off of others' orders alone! The real five-star facet here, though, was the staff. They were very friendly and helpful, despite how busy they were. They still found time for friendly and cheerful banter while ringing everyone up. I don't think team members get enough credit when they go above and beyond, but please take the time to tip or at least acknowledge the fantastic folks here! Overall, it's a wonderful coffee shop that I wish were closer to home! And... had more parking! The number and orientation of spots here isn't ideal, but it's worth an extra walk (huge lot across the street) for the drinks, snacks, and people at The Big Bean. Outstanding overall experience!
