Overheard as we walked in: "This was a great choice". I agree Lauren (waitstaff) was great - great personality, made us smile. Absolutely everything was delicious: duck sliders, cheesy fries, garlic herb fries, grilled cheese, tiramisu, & all drinky-drinks. We'll come back - hopefully Lauren is working that day.

Really wanted to like this place since I live a mile away. Rebranded as a Steakhouse so thought I would give it a try. In short, DC prices without the DC service or quality. Service- let's say the hostesses and my server interacted like they were very new to their roles. Asked the server what was the difference between the dry aged and regular ribeyes on the menu. He said size. Both on the menu were 16 ounces. Food- my wife's filet was actually pretty good and picked up some of the wood smoke. Only thing is it came with a blob of butter on top. I get the butter and Basil basting in the pan but this. My steak, 16 ounce bone in rib eye which was very wide and barely 1/4 inch thick so no wonder epic fail on the medium rare request. First bite even the juices tasted like butter from the butter sitting on top. Brussels were great. Here is the thing, learned they don't cut their own meat and was told this is the size of the ribeye they get. Not a steakhouse that gets to stay in business charging $65 for my very thin rib eye. Hope they figure it out since they are so close to me.

I really liked the look and concept of the restaurant and service was good. The restaurant had plenty of space and was clean. However, that's where the positives ended. We all left hungry because of the small portion sizes. The brisket was too bland and dry. The onion straws didn't really taste like onions. The fries were just ok. For $18, plus $2.50 upcharge for truffle fries isn't worth it. Unfortunately we won't be returning.

This place was great!! They have an awesome variety of slider selections, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The person working there was super friendly and took the time to explain the menu and how everything worked, which made the experience even better. The food was amazing- every slider was packed with flavor- and the vibe of this place was just perfect. They were out of the Peking duck slider which was a bummer but I got the sunrise slider as a substitute which was great! It's the kind of spot where you can relax and enjoy great food. Highly recommend checking it out!

Not bad, not bad. Today was opening day. Looks like everything was running pretty smoothly, didn't notice any crazy stress from the staff. Everyone was super friendly. We tried the Korean Chicken sliders and the Lamb burger sliders. Both were super tasty. The Lamb comes with a goat cheese spread. I'd probably ask for a little less next time. I'm a big fan of goat cheese, but too much can be overpowering. I also got the S'mores milkshake...yum. Looked just as good as it tasted. My only criticism is the decor. It's a little sparse. I didn't find the space to be very inviting. Granted, today was opening day, so I can only assume they are still working on a few things. All in all great addition to the Beach and we'll definitely be back!

(Full disclosure, I was a real fan of the former restaurant on this site. But today, I decided to give the new place a try). The Twin Beaches could use more restaurants with inventive cuisine. City Sliders bills itself as Fusion Cuisine, and I was very pleased with the food I tried today. When I walked in, around 2:20 on a Sunday, thinking of having a late lunch, I was greeted very warmly by the hostess. I asked to sit at the bar, which is a warm and cozy spot. I ordered a draft beer (Stella Artois) and checked out the menu. I settled on two sliders that I wanted to try, the Cauliflower one and the Korean Fried Chicken. I ordered them at the a la carte price so I could sample two different types. The very friendly woman who was tending bar mentioned that the kitchen was switching over, so it might take a little while for the food to come out. I had missed the fact that they serve Sunday brunch from 10 to 3 pm, and that menu also looked very good. Anyway, I did not have to wait for my food. The sliders came out promptly. The cauliflower (vegetarian) slider was delicious. It was nicely seasoned, had a smear of goat cheese on it, and the brioche roll was tasty. But the big hit with me was the Korean chicken. It came with pickled onions and a slice of radish. Really good. I ordered another beer and watched the March Madness basketball games (they have added a second screen in the bar). I liked some of the updates the new owner has made, including light fixtures. This property is a vintage North Beach inn building and a local treasure, and it retains that charm. I also thought my meal was priced reasonably for what I ordered.

Pic taken after eating one slider and some of the fries...too hungry to wait!

So excited for a new option in North Beach...City Sliders at the Westlawn Inn! We went on opening night. It was crowded (as expected) but the staff handled it very well. Our server, Amber, was friendly and very knowledgeable. You did not get the feeling that it was anyone's first day on the job. There were three of us and we all ordered entrees which included two sliders and a generous serving of fries. We tried the cheeseburger, the Cuban, and the Crispy Cod sliders. They were all delicious. The fries are the super skinny kind and come in a cute little basket. They have gluten-sensitive buns (yay!) and generous toppings on the sliders. We also HAD to try the yummy milkshakes...salted caramel, strawberry, and vanilla...we got them to go. Hoping they make the shakes a little thicker...I feel like they would melt quickly during the summer but they tasted great! They should have their liquor license early next week and we plan to visit the bar when they do. The bar area is still small so a larger bar would be great. If you visit for dinner, I highly recommend reservations which you can make right from their website. Overall, a great visit and a fun, casual place to go with friends. We're looking forward to our next visit!

This is the mess 30 minutes after we finished.

What a shame. The place is beautiful, the menu great. But that is the last positive thing I can say. We ordered sliders and when they came out the kitchen just put them on various plates. So we ended up having to switch sliders around to the people that ordered them. The service staff is obliviously not well trained. We had to ask for more cocktails, when one person ordered the service person did not bother to ask others. The food is great but that's the extent of the positive. The picture shows what the table looked like 30 minutes after we finished. No they were not busy only 4 tables. Sadly they Will be out of business before too long. Do yourself a favor and not bother, management doesn't care. .

This restaurant is very confused as to what it wants to be. I like it but the menu is massive with a couple dozen slider options...i have concerns about the freshness of the food I am being served with this much food stock on hand. The bar prices are far too expensive and they don't have boozy seltzer. The food is delicious but overpriced by a couple dollars for pretty much every item. The bartenders and waiters are all very nice and seem like they would excel if they had more business. It's located in a beautiful old house by the bay, a great location. But the ambiance is caught between wanting to be some strange fine dining burger joint (definitely not working) and a casual slider spot (would be perfect). To the owners i say cut the menu in half and figure out what impression you are trying to make at the beach. The bar could be a hot spot if it was better maintained and stocked with stuff people want to drink.

We went to brunch and was very pleased. Corned beef hash was excellent. My wife had waffles and they were good. We will go back.

"Waste o' time, Bobby, you won't find the critter there," Sam Guthrie (Cannonball), the oldest of the teenagers that make up the New Mutants, responded, "It'll be here." "What are you talking about, Sam? Explain yourself!" "Stands t' reason, ever since we've known her, Dani's had a special fear of a spirit bear she said murdered her parents. None of us really really gave the story much credit, after all who believes in magic?" Sam paused oh so slightly before continuing. " 'Cept Illyana's a real witch, an' we fought demons and sorceresses. Maybe Dani wasn't kidding." Sam shifted his tone to reveal his evidence. "Illyana tells me Dani spent the last week or so in the Danger Room fighting bears! T'night, she walked out into a [winter] storm, alone, armed with a bow an' arrows an' wearing war paint! And got mauled. We were wrong t' doubt her. We should'a listened, we should'a seen the signs." Whenever my wife and I visit a restaurant or bar for the first time, whether we are there by ourselves or--in this case--treated to a meal by our favorite neighbors--I can count on her to sort through, heed, and pick up on every nuance in every aspect of culinary service that is there to be sensed. In this case, at the Dockside Restaurant & Sports Bar at 421 Deale Road in Maryland, the food was mostly wonderful, and the prices were more than reasonable for this economy. What prevents Dockside from receiving at least four stars was primarily the service. Two orders of fries, one sweet potato and one regular, weren't hot; and although our waitress reluctantly brought one of the orders back to exchange it for a new batch, the fries didn't taste any warmer. Our other host ordered his crabcake lightly-fried, only for it to be brought out broiled. He still enjoyed it, but it wasn't exactly what he wanted or ordered. By the end of the meal, it became obvious that, if we return, we need to ask for Sarah, who, although she was tending the bar and wasn't even our waitress, still brought one of our neighbors a fresh cup of Pepsi Zero that she could take on our return trip home. Sarah also exhibited a great sense of humor, an attentiveness and an attention to detail, and, most importantly, remembered with pleasure our hosts, who have dined there frequently. Apart from the pumpkin cheesecake, which was so infused with nutmeg and pumpkin spice that even Linus from Peanuts couldn't have tasted the pumpkin, and the lukewarm fries, our meals were terrific. I devoured the perfectly-seasoned shrimp from the fried shrimp platter; everyone loved their onion rings and their cream of crab and Maryland crab soups; and we all agreed that the crabcakes, boiled and fried, were scrumptious.

The moment we arrived, it was clear how much excitement this place has already generated -- people were willing to wait in the cold just to get inside. And once you step in, you understand why. The decor is stunning. Guests immediately started taking photos of the walls and ordering area, and I did too. The space is vibrant, modern but with a throwback feel, and it sets the tone before you even place your order. Now, the burgers. Incredibly tasty. Perfectly smashed, full of flavor, and cooked just right. You can tell a lot of care went into crafting the menu, and the limited opening‑day selection was a smart move, it kept the line moving and made decisions easy. The atmosphere was another highlight. At one point, a to‑go customer ended up sitting with others when the place filled up, and it sparked a friendly conversation between a loyal customer from the previous location and someone brand new. That kind of organic community moment says a lot about the environment Smash House is creating. Overall experience was deliciously good. Would recommend.

I ordered the OG Smash burger with double patty and made it a combo to add on the fries and a drink. Everything tasted good, but the burger did come out a bit greasy. That's expected though with a smash burger or any burger honestly. The smash sauce on the burger tasted very similar to spicy mayo and the fries were nicely crispy. The fountain drink options included Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Lemonade, Mr. Pibb, etc. I was told this was their new location and the interior looked nice. However, when the restaurant got busy, it felt very cramped given their setup. There was a good amount of seating, however not much room to wait for your order without feeling like you are standing in the way when all seats were taken. The drink station was also all the way in the back and becomes a one way path when it gets busy. The path to get from placing your order at the cashier up at the front, to the drink area in the back, got slim when busy since people were sitting at the tables and the bar. Although my first time here was a bit overwhelming given how busy it was, this place was a great option to get your smash burger fix! They also have other options including hot dogs, chopped cheese, tacos, etc. so there's something for everyone! I enjoy supporting local businesses and I'll definitely be back to try some of their other menu items!
