We have a home warranty that has sent South Home Air out to our home twice in the past year, for two separate issues. Both times were positive experiences and the repair went smoothly. The other day, I had these guys come out to take a look at my boiler. They did and they gave me an estimate for work. When I spoke with my SO, we decided that since the work ranged from $700 to $6000 - depending on what we decided - that a second look was justified. Good thing we did. The next guy down said that a valve needed to be replaced - not repiping the whole thing, not a new boiler, but a valve was busted. He said that other things might be busted, too, but without the valve working properly there's no way to tell. This is in total contradistinction to the South Home Air people who were saying I needed between seven hundred and six thousand dollars in work. South Home Air also used high pressure tactics to get me to sign off on things. Even though I told them that I would think about it, they called me twice on the first day to try to pressure me into getting the work done. On the third day, when I said that I was having someone else come and look at it, they really cranked up the pressure in a way I didn't like, so I told them that their services weren't required. I got yet ANOTHER call, from some else at the company, who tried to sell me on their work. I agreed to pay for the service call but felt that they were charging me for an estimate and repeated that I didn't want to work with them. The guy on the phone continued to try to sell me until we were in a fight, like, literally yelling at each other. Regardless of whether they were right or wrong to charge me for what I believe is an estimate, it is unprofessional to the point of childishness to get into a yelling contest with a customer on the phone! Even when I tried to stop it by saying that, y'know, since we were yelling at each other we clearly should not work with each other, the South Home Air guy kept yelling at me. Well, I hung up after that, unsurprisingly, and am going with the guys who are going to try fixing the broken pressure release valve before saying that all the pipes need to be pulled out. read more

Run!!!! This is the worst company ever They can not tell the truth to save their lives They work through warranty companies so they can treat their customers like crap and get away with it because the warranty companies won't send out another company after they start the job ...and never return to finish.... the tech left because he didn't have a 1/2" of 10ga wire to finish repairing the heater and has not been back for over a week. The current temp in the house was 60 degrees and up coming weather of lows in the 20's . They said they would be out 3 times now and have canceled. If you value your health and stress level and your equipment I would seek another company like korrect plumbing and heating. They have canceled three times this week alone read more

I had to write this a 1! That's putting it nice! My insurance company contacted south home air on May 22 regarding our air conditioner not working. It has almost been 2 months and still is not fixed! It is 90 degrees in my house and miserable- apparently they don't care! The claim was started on June 14h the company came out and said we needed a compressor and never put the order in until I called 10 days later! On June 29 they brought the wrong part and had to re order the correct part. No one ever called so yesterday I called them and they said the part was in ( when it came in I'll never know ). Today I called and they say they can't complete the work order due to rain or even schedule it. My husband is outside mowing the yard! There is no rain right now or none for tomorrow says the forecast! What is taking so long?!?!?!?! read more

My home warranty company contacted this company to come and fix my Central air after it had been running for several days and not cooling my house at all. Their service technicians came out and said that their was nothing wrong with it and that the insulation was the problem. I asked my Home warranty to get a second opinion and American Home Shield could only send out another request for South Home Air to come back out and reinspect. I waited a week and never even got a phone call. I got Allied to check out my AC and the coil was dirty and needed a pound of Freon. South Home Air seem to not only be shady but unable to do even simple tasks. Stay away from this company!!! They only rip people off and don't know what they are doing!!!! read more

Terrible customer service. Repair person informed me that the number I left for them was incorrect. The actual problem, is that the repair person did not use the number that I left on file as a point of contact. He instead used the number that showed up on his cell phone as a record. This is a terrible business practice because customers may call from their work phone but need to contacted on their personal phone when they are at home waiting for their appointment. ESPECIALLY when you have to take leave from work. From the first contact, without any information on the issue, they automatically tried to say that we were not covered under the system warranty. This entire company has had an attitude as if I were inconveniencing them for attempting to obtaining their services. They consistently interrupted and ended up hanging up on me. read more

THE most unprofessional company my wife and I have ever had to deal with. Our home warranty sent out this company to service our AC unit. The first time this company came to my home, the contractor stated the issue was isolated to our thermostat. Once the batteries were replaced the unit came on without issue. This did not solve the primary issue. Our AC unit was struggling to maintain 75 degrees. We called out home warranty agency again and this time asked for another tech. Our home warranty sent out this company again. The tech was scheduled on a Tuesday between the hours of 10am-3pm. The tech never called or showed up during this time. I tried calling them directly, no answer multiple times. I then called our home warranty agency and they were unable to reach him. Then at around 5:30pm, the tech called and said that they were canceling techs for the day (it didnt rain once during their appointment window at our home). The tech then finally came over the next day. He never looked at the AC and just took the temperature coming out of our vents and said that we had "unrealistic expectations" for our unit and that the temps coming out were fine. My wife explained that the unit is struggling to maintain 75 degrees when we have it set to 72 degrees. And then she said If the system was working perfectly the thermostat should match what it was set for. The tech then advised that he "didn't say it was running perfectly". My wife was dumbfounded by this response. He then proceeded to get rude with my wife and said that we will never get the temperature to what we want that and the reason behind this is science, facts and physics. I was at work while all of this was going on. My phone was blowing up with messages that I needed to call her ASAP but I was unable to do so because of a call I was on. The tech then told my wife he had another appointment and he was leaving and he was not arguing with her. He also mumbled something as he walked away. He also would not speak with me directly. My home warranty then wanted to charge me for his services. I REFUSED to pay for it. We were able to get another contractor out and he resolved the issue within an hour. Our thermostat is now matching what we set our temperature for and it was in fact not "science and physics" that was causing the issue. This company is banned from my house and in my opinion, save yourself the headache and use someone else. read more

This has to be one of the most unprofessional HVAC I have had an experience with. I have a warranty & my warranty company said I had to use them as they were the closest, although I already had a service call & diagnostic from another HVAC. I told this co. & my warranty co told them all I needed was an estimate. This would have been a sure sell for them. Yet they come out, late, & I show them & email them the service ticket & diagnostics of what's wrong. They spend 7 min looking at my HVAC then at the end of the 7 minutes tell me I owe them $100, even though it is only an estimate that is needed as I pay my warranty co the $100 deductible once the estimate is accepted & work completed. Then I get a call from a "Service Mgr" that can barely speak proper english, slurring his words, yelling in my voice mail, calling me a liar. (I saved the voice mail) Stay away from this co. they have no clue on how to take care of a customer, & have no sense of manners, professionalism & proper ethics. They scare customers & seemly try to take advantage of them. Their poor reviews speak for themselves. BEWARE. Call a different co by all means. NOT this one. read more

The owner Jim Ollie is an extremely rude and unprofessional individual. He has no concept of good customer service and I wouldn't recommend his companies services to any person. He cut me off continuously and refused to explain what I was being charged for. I don't know how this business is still open. read more

Unfortunately not enough time to write it all. To take over a month to replace an a/c compressor in the dead of summer is criminal. To highlight one piece of our experience: compressor arrived on a Thursday(over a month from initial service call mind you). They forgot to order the compressor for two weeks. Shame on me for not calling within the first week. Never heard from SHA til the following Tuesday, hours before they expected to arrive for the install and I was at work an hour away!!! Again, this wasn't the sole issue but one of many. The lack of empathy or any sense of urgency was void. Poor communication, zero customer service and utter disregard for their customer's well being is, NOT, a one time occurrence. Evidenced by not only my experience but all the other reviews available online. The contradictions, back peddling and ineptitude of its leadership was frightening. If I ran my company the way SHA did, I would have long been shuttered. Perhaps that is why they operate and/or created a new dba or sister company,72 Degrees? South Home Air/72 Degrees will NEVER set foot in my home, neighbors, nor friends or family. I will go out of my way to share my experience with everyone I come in contact with. read more

Omg!!! Worst company ever! To say the least, horrible, rude, inconsiderate, low lifes. They have absolutely no pride for their work. I have never seen shoddier work done and I had to call them multiple times for problems they created and will not fix. I even had the manager come out and he said he would only fix 1 thing out the of the 5 problems there still are....I fear that my house will set on fire or blow up sooner than lster because of the work they did. They crimped a pipe that goes to the inside air handler in our house, they have wires just hanging with no junction box and some are missing caps even. They said it's low voltage and they don't need a junction box. They used a bad electrical wire to set up the heat pump and air handler, its open to mother nature and they said all they would do is put some electrical tape around it...that's not gonna help for more than a month. Might be cheap but you definitely get what you pay for with this company. I will never go through them again, I am SO disappointed. I went through them because they were through my warranty company. read more
